What's gone on in evangelicalism since we last talked? What does it mean for the year moving forward?
The journal of Audrey Hale, the Covenant School (Nashville) shooter, was recently released. Despite not being the purported manifesto it was billed as the document does give an intimate look inside the mind of a brutal spree killer. To learn what we can from it, namely how Hale was formed and how we can prevent more like her, we brought on David Harris - author of an excellent explainer article on the Hale journal for TruthScript. This one is pretty dark, full of material you won't want your kids listening to with you. But it is important so let's get going.

Pettifogging Pharisee

In a short amount of time, this episode is aging quite nicely. The recent underhanded and manipulative actions by Allie Beth Stuckey on the Alex Clark episode a month ago confirms that Stuckey's behavior will get worse. And the unwillingness by prominate pastors and members of the Christian community to speak critically to Stuckey is only going to exacerbate this. I don't know why there is this reluctance and fear by these people about risking geting on her bad side.

29:37 - 29:47 I 120% back this. The key here is to also help and educate families, especially Christian families, to hold on to the real estate once they get it. I have seen it happen where people's insurance and taxes have gone up to the point that they can no longer afford the mortgage. And don't think for a minute that it wouldn't be engineered to have people are getting taxed or "insured" or both out of their homes with the likes of BlackRock and Vangaurd waiting to grab them up.

24:42 I would argue that its already hard to get into places and aquire land to homestead. The time to do that was 2 - 3 years ago at a minimum and many of these properties are now out of people's price range to even borrower. Add into rising interests rates which have not made taking a mortgage lucative for most folks, which the fed interest rates has increased again last night at the time I wrote this comment, I concur that its going to make it even harder on something that is already difficult to do.

27:15 - 28:02 Gosh that reminds me of a conversation I had with my wife almost 6 years ago. Disney in 2017, before the trans stuff really took off and WAY before zoom was even a thing to concieve of leaking their agenda, got in trouble with the media because their castmembers prevented a little boy from participating in what supposed to be a girl only event. Disney apologized for it and was retraining their staff to prevent that from happening again. I could see what was coming and told my wife that we can no longer have anything to do with Disney as it was clear there would be no line from here on in that wouldn't be crossed. The wife was upset about this to the point that she actual wrote to Mark Gungor for advice. Pastor Gungor castigated me for my decision on his Let's Ask Mark clip. Regardless, we still stopped going to Disney and have been better for it. In fact, my wife is actually more outspoken about how crazy Disney has become than I am. Although, I did take Gungor's advice a

6:45 - 6:50 100% agree to call it cowardice. Too often I heard from many in Conservative Christian circles will say character matters or present issues from a biblical perspective. And not only does it not take long for those folks to trade those principles in, but they will use mental gymnastics to argue that their abondonment of principles wasn't somehow an adondonment of it at all.

1:05:15 - 1:05:55 A warning about this. Becareful going down the route of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". There is a reason the enemy of your opposition is their enemy. And even though you speak of managing risk, all too often I've seen folks who invoke this sight of keeping track of their so called "ally" and lived to regret it. Alliances as it seems is in a matter of dates, just as adversaries.

44:23 It's a little of topic what you guys were talking about. However, concerning King makers. Trump was never going to make kings. He doesn't have it in him to do so even if he didn't loose the last election. He would have found a way to still make this about him holding the strings and this is why we have the drama that we currently see among conservatives.

37:38 - 37:46 I keep seeing Matthew 12:36-37. We're all subject to it. Yet these people that Backwoods mention think in their doubling down and arrogance that somehow the Lord will not hold them accountable for the very careless and reckless words they use. It really is as you say. Either the day for judgement is coming or the Lord must appologize for Soddom and Gomorrah.
