In this episode of In The LOOP, Jordan Jo sits down with one of rodeo’s most recognizable champions—Richmond Champion—for a conversation about the moment that changed the sport of rodeo and the career that led him there.
A nine-time National Finals Rodeo qualifier in bareback riding, Richmond made history when he became the inaugural million-dollar champion at The American Rodeo, a moment that stunned the rodeo world and helped open the door for bigger payouts and new opportunities across the sport.
Richmond shares what life looked like before that historic ride—building a career through years of competition, chasing rodeos across the country, and learning how to compete against the very best bareback riders in the world.
What followed after that moment was something few athletes experience. Winning a million dollars in a single ride brought a new level of attention to both Richmond and the sport itself. As he reflects in the episode, the reality of that moment didn’t fully sink in until later—when the rodeo world realized that a rodeo cowboy had just been paid one million dollars for a ride.
From raising a family on the road to continuing to compete with the next generation of bareback riders, Richmond reflects on the lessons he’s learned through rodeo, fatherhood, and the pursuit of a dream that helped reshape the sport.
This episode offers a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most defining moments in modern rodeo—and the cowboy who helped set it in motion.
🎧 Tune in to hear how Richmond Champion helped put rodeo on the map with the ride that changed everything.

In this episode of In The LOOP, Jordan Jo sits down with one of the most respected voices in Western sports media—Kadee Coffman—for a conversation about persistence, opportunity, and building a career in the rodeo industry.
Raised on a fifth-generation cow-calf operation in Clovis, California, Kadee grew up surrounded by horses and Western heritage. Her journey began in rodeo queen pageantry, earning titles like Miss California Rodeo Salinas and Miss Rodeo California. When her goal of becoming Miss Rodeo America didn’t unfold the way she expected, it pushed her to rethink her path—leading her to pursue broadcast journalism and eventually a career in Western sports media.
What followed was a career built on what Kadee calls being “pleasantly persistent.” From landing her first opportunities with Superior Livestock Auction to stepping onto some of the biggest stages in rodeo broadcasting, she shares the lessons she learned along the way and the mentors—like Pam Minnick—who helped shape her approach to storytelling.
Kadee also reflects on memorable moments covering the National Finals Rodeo, the fast pace of live television, and the responsibility of telling the athletes’ stories in the moments that matter most.
Beyond the camera, Kadee has also built an impressive career in business development in the construction industry while balancing life as a wife and mother—proving that passion, preparation, and persistence can open doors in more than one arena.
This episode is full of insight, humor, and real-life lessons—including a memorable ranch story about a miniature donkey named Fiesta.
🎧 Tune in to hear how Kadee Coffman continues to dig her heels into the sand and pursue every opportunity that comes her way.

In this episode of In The LOOP, Jordan Jo sits down with one of the most influential women in rodeo and Western business — Billie Bray — for a conversation that spans three decades of change, resilience, growth, and leadership.
From the electric atmosphere of the 2016 USTRC Finals to the birth of million-dollar rodeos, Billie walks us through the moments that reshaped the Western industry as we know it. She shares what it was like owning and building the USTRC for 20 years, investing in the classification system that leveled the playing field, and helping grow team roping into the largest economic force in Western sports — now paying out over $100 million annually.
But this episode isn’t just about numbers.
It’s about family.
It’s about raising two high-level rodeo athletes.
It’s about watching your son win an all-around title at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo — the same arena where you once competed — and hearing him say he wants to be just like his mom.
Because at the heart of it all, rodeo is still about values, family, and the culture we’re fighting to preserve.

This episode of In The LOOP Podcast is one of the most raw and meaningful conversations we’ve shared — a story rooted in faith, resilience, and the power of community within the rodeo and equine industry.Inspired by 2025 World Champion Breakaway Roper Taylor Munsell, this episode brings awareness to Breakaway From Cancer and the real lives it has impacted. Jordan Jo sits down with cancer survivors Kacey Kobza and Lindsey Pender to share their journeys — not from a place of fear, but from courage, honesty, and hope.Kacey opens up about her diagnosis with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, the overwhelming support she received from the rodeo community, and how that experience reshaped her perspective on life, competition, and relationships. Now cancer-free, she gives back as a board member of Breakaway From Cancer, helping lift financial and emotional burdens for others in the equine industry facing the same fight.Lindsey shares her ongoing battle with stage-three triple-negative breast cancer — from noticing early warning signs to navigating chemotherapy, surgery, motherhood, and faith. With vulnerability and strength, she speaks about trusting God in the unknown, accepting help, and staying present through each phase of treatment while continuing to show up for her family. This episode is not about cancer statistics or outcomes. Shelby Boisjoli-Meged is one of the most respected athletes in professional breakaway roping — a world champion, a six-time NFBR qualifier, and a competitor who blends precision, grit, and world-class horsemanship. Her 2025 journey captures the full reality of rodeo: the slumps, the streaks, the lonely miles, and the moments that remind you why you chase this lifestyle in the first place. In this episode, Shelby opens up about the toughest stretch of her season — missing calves, flying back and forth between U.S. and Canadian rodeos, and running on no sleep — and how she climbed out of it through discipline and relentless practice. Her breakthrough win at Calgary became the turning point, followed by another major victory at Colorado Springs that secured her sixth NFBR back number.Shelby shares how she manages her multi-horse lineup — Anna’s experience, Madonna’s grit, and Root Beer’s fire — while balancing both futurity and pro rodeo schedules. She also talks about traveling alone while Haven pursued tie-down points, how her perspective has evolved over six NFBR qualifications, and why entering Vegas without the No. 1 target on her back gives her a different kind of freedom. Her story is a powerful, honest picture of what makes today’s breakaway athletes truly exceptional — resilience, adaptability, horsemanship, mental toughness, and deep belief in the work behind the win.Follow us for more live rodeo and all the action from your favorite events — Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, Tie-Down Roping, Team Roping, Steer Wrestling, Barrel Racing, and Breakaway Roping.
