Donna believed that she wasn't smart enough, didn't belong and didn't fit in. She had lie-based thinking and was getting her identity from what she did, what people said about her and what she had. Growing up Jewish, she had a very strong tight community but only traditions and laws. She had a sense of guilt and shame and not a personal relationship with God. Church hurt is a word that has been used quite a bit lately but what does it mean? And if we have been hurt by a church, what does Jesus want for us in response? What we often don't see when we are hurt is that it is the people of God who hurt us, but God's heart is for us to be healed.
