Across the U.S., 13.5 percent of households experienced food insecurity at some point in 2023. Economic Research Service+1 That’s 18 million households—of which more than 6.8 million endured very low food security, meaning their eating patterns were significantly disrupted by lack of resources. Economic Research ServiceIn Delaware alone, in 2023, 134,320 people faced hunger — including 37,920 children.
