It's Spring! Baseball season is upon us, so let's celebrate like true romance girlies and read on theme! Catch Her If You Can by Tessa Bailey is a great spicy spring romance. The FMC is sassy and so interesting. The MMC is a hot Irish baseball player...enough said. This book will leave you feeling empowered to own your feminine sex appeal, prudes be damned!
What happens when a young Fae woman gets dropped into a new world, a world where vampires reign supreme? Obviously, she immediately gets bonded to a morally grey highborn vampire male and has to learn the ways of this world in a Dark Academy. Almost forgot, she is a dragon rider and the dragons have been gone from this world for a very long time, but now...one awakens. We're covering the first two books in this 4 book romantasy series, because book three just released!
The follow up book to BK Borison's "Next Caller" is so good, we think it might be better than it's predecessor. That's saying a lot! This book reads like a perfect rom com. It's a perfect romance for cozy winter months. We're talking forced proximity in a snowstorm slow-burn...
One of our Producers, book influencer, Canasia Ngo, told us to stop everything and read this book: Daggermouth by H.M. Wolfe. So that's what we just did, seriously, we haven't had a stop the presses moment like this since "Heated Rivalry" in December. This book is true enemies to lovers dystopian romantasy that is sexy as hell. If you're looking for a book to channel your feminine rage, this is it.
In this episode we get to talk with author Stephanie Archer about her latest book: The Wild Card! But since we've got Stephanie with us we of course have to cover her whole Vancouver Storm series. This is a fabulous series of cozy hockey romance books. Not to be confused with "Heated Rivalry" these are straight romances, but they have just as much to do with "hockey"...
Sexy Vampires are back! Along with a host of other magical creatures that all manage to co-exist in a way that makes sense and is thoroughly enjoyable in this hot new gladiator battle style romantasy by Stacia Stark. This one is a fun wild ride that is an uncompleted series BUT the end of this book feels like an ending--you're not left hanging by a pinky finger off a cliff.
It's Black History month and we wanted to make a point of highlighting a Black romance author. So we picked "A Tropical Rebel Gets the Duke" which was on the NYPL's best of 2025 list; won the "Book I'm Still Thinking About" award at the 2025 Bookish Awards; and was an instant bestseller. It is that good! We get spice right away and a rewarding history lesson. The Duke is seriously hot and Aurora is the sassy rebel we all desire to be--this woman has gumption in spades.
A Little Buzzed by Alys Murray is the most refreshing romance we've read in a while. This episode we get to talk with the incredibly accomplished author about her awesome new book. Reading this book will have you ready to buy a few new sex toys...We talk about Mardi Gras release dates, 25cent Martini's, imposter syndrome and hot MMCs. The name Hudson is having a moment...
In this episode we're talking about "Heated Rivalry" the show vs the book with our friend Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman. Jeffrey identifies as Queer and was a judge on Ru Paul's Drag Race All Stars. You've also seen him on: UnReal; American Horror Story; Doogie Kamealoha MD; and with Cait on "Campfire Christmas". It's a great conversation where we get the queer perspective on the show as a whole and just how much representation really matters.
The Winter Olympics have started, Valentine's Day is around the corner, we're not trapped in January anymore but the weather is still yucky. What you need is another installment of your favorite gay hockey couple: Shane and Ilya. Enter, The Long Game by Rachel Reid. It's book six in the game changer series, but it continues Shane and Ilya's story shortly after we left them in Heated Rivalry. Romance + Winter themed sport + Cozy fave couple = your next read! And we're talking all about it on the pod today!
We're covering books 4 and 5 of the ACOTAR series. Aka: the blue on and the orange one! We get a holiday novella and we move our focus from Feyre and Rhysand to Nesta and Cassian. And like everyone else we try our hand at predicting when we will get book 6!
First we gotta finish talking about "A Court of Mist and Fury" then we dive into "A Court of Wings and Ruin". We cover a lot in this episode! It's Rhysand and Feyre, their epic love story. This is the fairy smut that has us hooked for life. Rhysand is our ultimate book boyfriend, but what is he? Morally grey? Shadow Daddy? A secret Cinnamon Bun? Or is he just Rhys...and no others compare...
Today we're talking about book 2 in the ACOTAR series: A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. (Also, affectionately referred to as the green one!) A LOT happens in this book and we tried not to miss a thing, even if we get a little jumbled up in our recap...And we give you our pumpkin spice meter for book 1 and 2 in this episode!
It's January 2026 and we're covering ACOTAR because it is the romantasy gateway drug for so many that is still flying off the shelves over 10 years after it was originally published. This Fae romance is what started the obsession for Cait and we're gonna take you through it one book at a time. It all begins with Feyre and Tamlin...
Happy New Year! Did you catch up on your TBR over the break? We're back and starting 2026 with a hot off the press romance: In Your Dreams by Sarah Adams. We're back in Rome, Kentucky (for some of us it's our first visit) with Madison and James as they fall in love building a hot new restaurant on a farm. This is a delightful, light read to get you going in the New Year!
Big news, we're so excited: we have an instant holiday classic discovery! Christmas Fling by Lindsay Kelk is so much fun, in a castle, in the Scottish Highlands, with a hot 6'4" Scot and our FMC is a neurosurgeon. You will be laughing out loud and devouring every minute. The audio book is excellent, the playlist is pure holiday joy and we loved it all!
Here's what we've got on our TBR for January! We wish you a Happy Holidays and can't wait to talk about more books in the New Year! Hope this list helps you find your next read and to be ready for our next episodes. In Your Dreams by Sarah AdamsACOTAR by Sarah J Maas (all 5 books in a two part episode)The Long Game by Rachel Reid Villains of Lore series by Jasmine Mas (Blood of Hercules and The Bonds of Hercules)
We interrupt our regularly scheduled holiday programming this December to talk about Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid. There was no way we weren't hopping on this train and the book is deserving of ALL the hype and we are so excited to be talking about. Oh there's a show too...have you seen it? Shane and Ilya are hockey stars, rival players and they fall in love, but can they find a way to be open with themselves and the world about it?
It's time to talk about Court's all time favourite holiday romance re-read! In A Holidaze by Christina Lauren is a delightful holiday treat, this is the groundhog day trope done right. This book gives serious nostalgia and swoon worthy childhood crush feels. Spend the holidays with a crew reminiscent of "The Big Chill" (but way less drama) in a snowy cabin setting.
This book reads like a Christmas Hallmark movie, but with spice! We needed the spice in this one. Key take aways: Does anyone know the name of the girl in The Nutcracker? We're kind of on the mom's side when it comes to fancy holiday decorations.December has just started and already were drowning in our to do lists and TBRs!
