In Episode 17, Regicide and the Historian, we told how in 548 bce, Ts’ui Chu / Cui Zhu murdered his monarch for raping his wife. Today’s episode follows the Right Minister Ts’ui Chu through the disputes over inheritance between his sons, his firstborn Ch’eng /Cheng and his little brother Chiang / Jiang, and his new wife’s son Ming. In 546 bce, the brothers sought help from Left Minister Ch’ing /Qing Feng, which did not prove to be a wise decision. Tungkuo Yen/ Dongguo Yan and T’ang Wuchiu / Tang Wujiu were murdered, with the help of Lu P’u P’ieh / Lu Pupie.
