This week on Dad Lounge: Christmas Chaos & Holiday Hijinks! The whole Dad Squad—Sam, Little Matt, Lance, and Big Matt—manages to jingle all the way into the Lounge for an episode that’s mostly about Christmas… because with dads, nothing stays on track for long. The guys unwrap:Their childhood Christmas traditions (some sweet, some questionable)The traditions they’ve carried into adulthoodAnd the brand-new traditions they’ve invented as grown men who probably shouldn’t be trusted with wrapping paper or laddersThings kick off with a Dad Joke Sam heard during the week—one so powerful it unlocked a deeply chaotic memory he shares with Little Matt. Therapy may or may not be needed. Then there’s one dad—let’s call him “Leon” to protect the guilty—who reveals a holiday “tradition” that sounds a lot like mischief with a festive bow on top.Plus, Sam tells of a Christmas tradition that Big Matt knows all too well, and the two bond over it like dads comparing grill thermometers. As always, Dad Jokes are sprinkled throughout like the world’s corniest tinsel, and the whole episode is packed with laughs, nostalgia, and peak dad energy.Grab your cocoa, adjust your New Balance sneakers, and settle in.ENJOY!
This episode of Dad Lounge delivers a mix of sports frustrations, snow day nostalgia, and the realities of parenting—like kids hijacking Spotify playlists with Spidey and Bluey songs! The dads swap stories about family shows and movies that connect generations, laugh through technical glitches, and dive into quirky fan theories from The Jetsons to Ted Lasso. It’s a laid‑back, funny, and relatable conversation that captures the chaos and charm of dad life, with a tease of Christmas traditions coming next. It's a great show! ENJOY!
Join Sam, Little Matt, Lance, and Big Matt in a funny and competitive Thanksgiving episode of the Dad Lounge podcast. In this five-round Thanksgiving Draft, the dads battle it out to create the ultimate holiday meal lineup, choosing from one main dish, two sides, a dessert, and a cherished Thanksgiving tradition. There's a random draft order, questionable strategies, plenty of trash talk, and unexpected twists as they vie for the title of Champion of the first, of many(?), Dad Lounge draft.Tune in for laughs, family fun, and a festive showdown that celebrates the quirks and joys of Thanksgiving through the eyes of four competitive dads.Let the draft—and the fun—begin!
Cue dramatic music… It’s been a minute (or a few hundred thousand dad jokes) since the Lounge last cracked open its doors. But after a fresh coat of paint, a rebrand, and probably a few arguments over font choices, Dad Lounge is officially in business!Sam, Lance, and Big Matt—armed with scissors, swagger, and probably snacks—cut the ceremonial ribbon and kicked off the maiden voyage of the newly dadified Lounge. There was laughter. There were introductions. There were kid counts. (Spoiler: they’ve got enough children between them to start a small soccer league.)Family dynamics were discussed. Dad wisdom was dispensed. And then—like a plot twist in a time-travel movie—Sam dropped the Mandela Effect bomb. “Wait… didn’t Pikachu have a black tail?” Cue confusion. Cue existential crisis. Cue Sam guiding the crew through a rabbit hole of misremembered logos and alternate realities. To bring it all home, the trio swapped tales of their adventures to the Most Wonderful Place on Earth—Disney World. There were churros. There were meltdowns. There was magic. And probably matching t-shirts.All in all, it was the perfect way to relaunch the Lounge—with laughs, lore, and a little bit of dad-induced chaos.Tune in, buckle up, and ENJOY!

We don't have a new episode, this week, but rather a replay from one of our Live In the Lounge's when we would broadcast on Sundays, occassionally. June 23, 2020, Sam's mom, Rosemary (Rosie) joined the guys, and shared things from Sam's past, her past, and the gentle kindness Sam grew up with, and the sense of humor that Sam displays, many times."On September 11, 2024, Mom went home to be with the Lord. She was never afraid at the news that she would be passing. Her strength of faith was amazing, and her unwavering love for all who surrounded her was unmatched. She will be missed, every day, and I love her ...so much.-Sam-It's a short episode, but we felt it was appropriate to put this out for all to remember Sam's mom. Thank you, Rose, for everything!

What would happen if we found out that all of the music stars who died way too young didn't actually die, but rather became secret agents to fight to make the world a better place? This week's guests, Jay Watson & Kyle Wiltshire, wrote a book about that topic!"The Dead Rock Stars: A Novel," is a book where they cover that very topic, in a fictional setting, and set in 1999!The guys have a great time talking about many various topics, OTHER THAN THE BOOK, and Jay & Kyle are COMPLETELY up for it!What is the best trilogy (3 movies only)? How about sitcoms? Is MJ better than Lebron? How does anyone decide? The topics are ALL OVER the place, but they have a spectacular conversation!ENJOY!Find where you can purchase the book, and more about Jay & Kyle at https://deadrockstarsbook.com/
