Ciara and Lisa share what it was like being crowned Garlic Queens for the second year in a row, and why the night meant so much supporting the incredible work of Sorrentino’s Compassion House.
From there, things take a turn (as they always do) into relationships, breaking down red flags, green flags, and the realities of dating. And of course, it wouldn’t be Off Air Talks without some fun, so they get into going out, dancing, and the moments that make a night unforgettable.
Ciara and Lisa are back in the studio and catching you up on everything from their latest Oilers collaboration to the unexpected turn the Love Story series has taken.
They’re also diving into the age-old question… is age really just a number? They discuss the new dating show Age of Attraction. And somehow, things spiral (in the best way) into a deep-dive on the psychology behind why backwards hats are just so attractive on men.
Plus, they crack open a special edition of Hansen Distillery’s Mini Yeggs liquor and share the start of the custom upgrades coming soon to their studio space in a special collaboration. This week on Off Air Talks, Ciara and Lisa record from two very different locations. Lisa is stuck at home battling a brutal flu while Ciara is living her best life on a ski trip in Kimberley, British Columbia with her parents. Ciara shares stories from the slopes, deep powder runs, and the realities of ski-in ski-out life, while Lisa recaps the misery of being bedridden for over a week but from the comfort of her chicken "Chateau Poulet". From near wipeouts on the mountain to a wild dinner scene involving a $600 rose bear apology to some special appearances from three of Lisa's fluffy raptors, the conversation takes plenty of entertaining turns.
The two also talk about upcoming events, including Lisa’s upcoming emcee role for the WIN House Light the Darkness fundraiser Thursday supporting women and families fleeing violence. Plus, a mysterious event the gals tease for later in the month. It’s a chaotic, cozy, and hilarious episode featuring chickens, ski stories, sickness, and a little bit of life happening off the air.
This week on the podcast we’re joined by Braven, Kindred and Alchemy Chef, Jason Greene, for a behind-the-scenes look at one of downtown’s most exciting culinary experiences. Chef Jason walks us through his approach to food, how Braven’s menus come to life, and why Canadian, Albertan, and locally sourced ingredients are at the heart of everything they create, from the inspiration behind the dishes to the techniques that bring them to life.
We also preview some incredible bites from Braven’s upcoming Downtown Dining Week menu, including Spicy Salmon Bites and crispy-gooey Mac & Cheese Bites. Beyond the food, Chef Jason shares what it’s really like behind the pass in Braven’s semi-open kitchen, how the energy shifts on Oilers game nights, and what makes the full Braven dinner experience so memorable. We also dive into what’s happening across the family of restaurants, from Alchemy’s new creative direction, DJs, and live oyster-shucking moments, to Kindred, the bright downtown lunch spot that’s quickly becoming a local favourite. __________________________________________________________________________

This week on Off Air Talks, we’re joined by Edmonton’s own Shawn Kanungo — global AI and innovation keynote speaker, consultant, and one of the most in-demand voices on the future of work.
