Back for another life changing discussion, we have therapist and bestselling author Nedra Glover Tawwab to talk about healthy dependency in relationships – what it is, what's the difference from unhealthy dependency/codependency, and how to achieve it. We discuss how to not lose yourself in a relationship, dating someone who's enmeshed with their family, why our attachment styles aren't fixed and how we show up differently with different people, and the problem with hyper independence. We also discuss friendship enmeshment and when one friend needs space, accommodating friends' boundaries without losing them (and when you might need to cut someone off), navigating your best friend getting into a relationship, and how to understand different peoples' communication styles. We even touch on parenting and codependency with children. Before Nedra joins us, we analyze some wrong number texts Rayna has been receiving, and answer the question 'Can a morning person be with a non-morning person?' Enjoy! You've probably heard the phrase "Everyone wants a village, but no one wants to be a villager" recently, and we are discussing! We dive into the dynamics of friendship, why people aren't showing up for their friends as much, when boundaries and "protecting your peace" hinder community building, managing conflict with friends, engaging with friends on social media, and tips for being a better villager. We also discuss the sentiment of "you don't have to go to weddings anymore" AND we also put together a matrix to determine the events you do and don't have to attend. Before we get into the topic, Rayna got a jump scare at the nail salon and Ashley had a traumatizing experience in a public restroom. Enjoy! To kick off the new year, we have the one-and-only Cody Rigsby – beloved Peloton instructor, bestselling author, and podcaster. He opens up about his new relationship, who he's close with at Peloton, how he gets away with being so spicy stuff in his classes, being a Disney adult, his relationship with his mom, and his feelings on marriage (and what the straights are doing wrong). Then we get his advice on how to achieve the 2026 goals our listeners submitted, from being confident, to doing more (and less?) anal, to being more petty (but tactfully). Before Cody joins us, we share our goals for the Year of the Horse, recap holiday highlights (read: appetizer contest), and discuss why this year is Rayna's year and not Ashley's. How to Let Go of Regret

2025-12-2201:18:15

It's the last episode of 2025 and we are reflecting on the year – the highs and lows, the lessons learned, and if we have any regrets. Then we discuss regrets in general, being consumed by "micro regrets" and three steps for managing it, our feelings on moving to LA and the potential of moving back to NYC, and our audience's biggest regrets of the year (with focus on staying in a relationship or job for too long). We discuss the dynamics of spending the holidays with family when you're in a relationship, how to navigate the in-laws, what most couples are doing (and not doing), and our controversial opinion on spending every holiday with your partner. We also talk about family estrangement, our feelings on "Life is too short to fight with your family," and how to work through some of these hard situations. Then we share some of our listeners' hilarious/traumatic holiday experiences with partners' families that truly shocked us. We have comedian/impressionist Anna Roisman join us to chat about the celeb impression that put her on the map, her controversial collab with Hilaria Baldwin, how she's morphing into Kris Jenner, self-talk for putting yourself out there on the Internet, and the videos she has in her drafts right now. We also discuss her boyfriend of nine years, why they aren't married (and when people stopped asking about it), and why they don't share location. Then we get down and dirty (literally) with some "Should I break up with him?" emails about hygiene, jealousy, and being too well-endowed. Please stop running promos for Skims. Y'all can't be popping off politically and also handing money to Kim Kardashian, while she's in turn promoting Tesla (not to mentioning being a wildly out-of-touch billionaire).

Barking up the wrong tree comes from hunting and can work in either context. When a dog signals with barking that they have a prey animal like a racoon trapped up in a specific tree, they can be wrong in two ways: either there isn't anything up there (wrong audience) or there's actually a big ass bear about to come down (threat).
