Description
Hi and welcome to The Neurodivergent Awakening Podcast. I call this the Neurodivergent Awakening because it does genuinely feel over the past few years the world has woken up to Neurodiversity, in particular understanding of Autism and ADHD.
I share my lived experience of being early diagnosed Autistic, late diagnosed ADHD and parenting my own neurodivergent child, and share anecdotes, research and tips for things that work for my little family and things I have learned along the way.
I really hope to create a safe and inclusive space for anyone going through diagnosis, on waiting lists or simply exploring their options or want to learn a bit more.

This week I talk about my meltdowns, the stress of the holiday season, and how important it is to self-regulate, I’m hoping it gives others—both neurodivergent people and their allies—something useful to take away. For me, the biggest lessons are understanding what meltdowns really are, knowing my triggers, and learning to advocate for myself in different situations. Hopefully this resonates! Hello beautiful humans, this week social media has been rife with contention on this subject. This isn't a dogpile, and no one has been named but lets discuss.. Does high support needs always mean better support? What are some of the barriers for support for those that are lower support needs? Do we have to be "autistic enough" to even speak about this?
