On today's episode, EquiTeam's Liz and Lou chat about opportunities, do we create our own or are some people just lucky. They talk about opportunities they have had, and why it is important to remember that you don't always see the hard work in the background before someone gets offered something exciting. Do you need to be bold and ask for chances or rely on being brave enough to say yes in the moment?   Head to EquiTeam to join us with our special Advent offer.

There's a saying that has always resonated with us: "Don't wait for the storm to pass - learn to dance in the rain"- whilst this is mostly true, sometimes you also need to put an umbrella up, shelter those who need it and stand quietly together until the sun starts to shine again.  On this week's episode, Equiteam's Liz Daniels and Lou Gillings talk about making the transition from summer to autumn, and knowing when to put a coat on, or when to press pause. On this week's episode, Equiteam's Liz Daniels chats to Diana Waters, founder of The Power of Walk. Diana explains how teaching a slow walk and removing any force can 'unkink the hose' which in turn helps to improve posture, straighten and balance the body, and improve the relationship and harmony between and horse and rider/handler. Diana shares her passion on wanting to create change, how the concept came about, and how everyone can positively impact their horse. Ahead of Slowvember, Diana is encouraging all equestrians to explore the resources available, including her free eBook, The Slow Walk Work Guide to In-Hand, to kick start your journey. Ros shares how a series of decisions led her to a successful career in academia, but a fall from her horse, chronic pain and lockdown changed her perspective and step away from a secure career to providing top class care to Thoroughbreds and founding a retirement livery package for older horses. With the glass going from half full, to overflowing, Ros shares the impact of making big decisions has had on her life. Join EquiTeam at www.equiteam.co.uk.

We discuss the importance of having confidence in your coach and trust between you, your coach and your horse.  Hear from some of the riders as they share their experiences and ask EquiTeam coach Liz about her own coaching.  If you do have a great coach, remember to say thank you to them for everything they do.
Have you ever felt like you don't deserve your achievements—or worried that one day you'll be "found out"? You're not alone. Research shows that up to 82% of people experience impostor syndrome at some point in their lives. EquiTeam's Liz Daniels and Louise Gillings chat about the feeling that you don't belong as Liz shares her experiences from the British Dressage National Championships. In this episode, we explore what impostor syndrome is, why it shows up and how it can impact confidence and enjoyment levels. More importantly, we share practical strategies to challenge those feelings—like celebrating wins, seeking mentorship, and building supportive safe communities. Join us as we open up the conversation, reduce the stigma, and learn how to replace self-doubt with self-belief. If you would like to connect with likeminded equestrians and learn together you can join equiteam at www.equiteam.co.uk.
This week, Equiteam's Liz Daniels and Lou Gillings dive into what pressure really looks and feels like — and why it can be so different for everyone. Today, Equiteam's Liz Daniels and Lou Gillings chat about something that should be simple... but somehow, isn't. Being proud of yourself. With lots of huge achievements happening this week, including a BD Regional Nomination for Equiteam High Hopes Quest team, and some huge personal achievements, the pair explores a topic that makes Liz feels largely uncomfortable: being proud of yourself. Like most people, the duo find it super easy to shout from the rooftops about their friends, Equiteamers, their horse, or even someone they don't know, but when it comes to feeling proud of themselves, it feels alien, and voicing it feels almost crude.  We move the goalposts. We downplay the wins. We worry we'll seem arrogant, or that if we stop and celebrate, we'll lose momentum. But here's the truth: Pride isn't the opposite of humility—it's the celebration of progress. If you would like to join the EquiTeam community and celebrate your wins, ask questions, and build your skills and confidence or take part in our Quest and online dressage teams, you can join us for as little as £3.50 a week at www.equiteam.co.uk.
