Australian agriculture is starting 2026 from a position of high ground despite the uncertainty and volatility. 2025 proved to be a good, or better, year for most regions and commodities, placing many businesses in a better position heading into an uncertain 2026.  In this episode, RaboResearch's Australia team discusses the economic and commodity outlook for Australia and concludes: 'While geopolitics is definitely setting the tone for 2026 and there remains the ever present uncertainty with trade and weather, Australian producers should feel confident they are in a strong position to deal with any headwinds'.   Disclaimer: Please refer to our global RaboResearch disclaimer at https://www.rabobank.com/knowledge/disclaimer/011417027/disclaimer for information about the scope and limitations of the material published on the podcast.
In recent years, Brazil's corn ethanol output has expanded to well over one-quarter of the country's total ethanol production. With additional projects expected to come on line over the next three to five years, corn ethanol is likely to account for more than one-third of national ethanol output. From 2026 onward, and likely for the following five years, Brazil's ethanol market appears well supplied. For sugar producers, this reduces the flexibility to divert larger volumes of sugarcane into ethanol production when sugar prices are low. Andy Duff, Head of RaboResearch Food & Agribusiness – South America, discusses the implications for sugar supply and prices with Stefan Vogel, General Manager of RaboResearch Australia and New Zealand.   Disclaimer: Please refer to our global RaboResearch disclaimer at https://www.rabobank.com/knowledge/disclaimer/011417027/disclaimer for information about the scope and limitations of the material published on the podcast.
