Did I ever tell you I struggled with an eating disorder in my mid-20s?
You’ve probably heard of the “Freshman 15”… I gained the “Freshman 60.” I was an athlete who slowed down, coped with life by eating my feelings, and eventually didn’t feel at home in my body.
At 22, I decided to change that. What started as a healthy intention became obsessive. I went from 210 to 145 pounds, but inside, I was losing myself. I remember bingeing peanut butter and jelly after starving all day… then running for miles to punish myself.
At 24, I walked into my first 12-step meeting.
Over the next year, I experienced deep healing. That journey helped me become incredibly attuned to my intuition—learning how to listen to my body, my emotions, and my inner knowing.
So when my intuition whispered that it was time to leave the program… I was shocked. But I knew I had to listen.
Have you ever felt your intuition guiding you against the norm?
So much of life follows pre-written scripts—what love looks like, success looks like, health looks like. But you get to decide if those scripts fit you.
And if they don’t… you’re allowed to choose your own path.
It takes courage. There may be pushback. But your intuition knows what’s right for you.
The day I left my program, someone said we should all stop working out because it was addictive.
My intuition said: not for me.
I had healed my relationship with movement. It felt supportive, not harmful. And in that moment, I knew the program no longer served me.
That decision wasn’t easy. But it was right.
It’s been over 20 years, and my relationship with my body, mind, and spirit has never been stronger.
The real magic of life is this:
When you follow your intuition, you align your inner and outer worlds. You stop forcing and start flowing. You create a life that actually feels good.

Manifesting and meditation are words that swirl around in the same conversations. We know they’re related, that they fit together somehow, but many of us aren’t quite sure exactly how they work together.
We want to become good at manifesting things, right? Money, soul mate love, fulfilling work, optimal health, peace in the world around us, and millions of other dreams. We’ve been told that a mysterious mixture of visualizations, affirmations and positivity will just *poof* make our desires appear, and if they don’t…it’s because we didn’t have the correct combination.
The Most Important Lesson I’ve Learned About Manifesting
In my 47 years on this planet, I’ve consciously manifested quite a few things, including…
My soul mate
Healthy labor & deliveries for both my girls
High paying clients
A business that makes money while I sleep
Huge chunks of money when I needed it
Our 15 acre farm and dream home
Lost pets
A fit, healthy & disease-free body
Friends
Team members
Chickens
…and more.
I didn’t do any of these perfectly and I continue to be a student of manifesting.
But, along the way I’ve learned a thing or two and I would consider this is the most important…
Manifesting is the natural byproduct of alignment.
It’s not about reading our desires out loud 3 times every morning at 5am.
It’s about being aligned.
So…What’s Alignment?
My daughter was cleaning out the chicken water bucket a while back. She grabbed the head of the hose, turned on the nozzle and looked at the opening with disappointment and anger. “The water’s not working, mom! Why won’t it come out?” Before she melted into a puddle of tears, I grabbed her hand and pointed my finger at the hose.
“Look!” I pointed out. “The hose has knots and kinks. The water can’t flow through.”
She got it immediately and we began unraveling the hose. Soon, it was one straight line, from the spout all the way to the opening.
And an abundance of water flowed with ease.
That is what alignment is.
When who we are - our thoughts, words and actions are all in agreement with one another.
When we are aligned, our desires can flow from source to what we can see in front of us. Just like the water in the hose.
How Does Meditation Fit Into All of This?
Meditation is one of the tools we use to get to know ourselves. More specifically, it helps us get very intimate with our intuition. And our intuition is telling us exactly what we need to be in alignment.
It tells you…
When to stop and call your friend
When to start and stop eating
When to quit your job
When to stay silent
When to speak your truth
When to listen to your doctor and when not to
When to start or stop your business
When to share vulnerably and when to hold back
When to lean into deeper friendship and when to create some space
You get the idea.
And when we listen to our intuition, we know exactly what to do to be aligned.
And that is when the hose straightens out and the water starts flowing.
And we Manifest Magic.

Now...here's a story for you...
“I was talking to my favorite uncle this past weekend,” my friend said. She was telling me a story about how she had gone to the East Coast of Florida to visit her family. She’s from there and loves it. She wants to move back there, but there are a lot of “practical” things keeping her on the West Coast.
“I told him that I just have 5 more years of my job before I can slow things down and maybe move back there and spend time with him,” she continued. I knew she and her 85 uncle were close. And when she told me what he said next, I could feel the weight in her heart.
“I may not be here by then,” her uncle said with sadness.
I saw her eyes tear up as her brain tried to make sense of it all.
“That really hit me hard, Katie,” she said. “Have I just been living on Autopilot for all these years?”
What does Living on Autopilot look like?
Living on Autopilot means you’re just kinda coasting through life. You’re showing up and doing what you “should” do, or continuing to do life in a certain way because that’s how you’ve always done it, or that’s how it “should” be done, or that’s how everyone else does it.
We’re told that this way of living is “safe” and “conventional” and even “normal.”
We keep showing up to the job that doesn’t fulfill us…
We keep eating the same foods that don’t nourish us…
We tote our kids around to all the activities because we’re supposed to…
We slowly forget about our big dreams because they’re not practical…
And we fall into the habit of living a “good enough” life that’s run on autopilot.
The Scariest Part About Living on Autopilot
The scariest part about living on Autopilot is not realizing that we are living on autopilot until it’s too late.
Well, technically, it’s never too late, but you get my point. Autopilot living eats up our precious time here. And isn’t the point to actually live our lives?
How Do I Know If I’m Living My Life on Autopilot?
Are you deeply in love with your life?
Are you excited for the days ahead?
Do you feel a sense of fulfillment and joy?
If you answered yes, then congratulations! You are living an intentional life, building it brick by brick! It’s a hard job, but a worthwhile one. :)
If you answered no to any of these questions…then maybe it’s worth considering that some parts of your life are on autopilot right now.

Self-Awareness.

For others, it feels rough and jarring and out of control. But one common thing that connects us is this: we are transitioning. From one season of life to the next. And no matter how bumpy that ride can be for some of us, we are made to do this.
I’m Katie, the creator of the Women’s Meditation Network and for almost a decade, I’ve been creating meditations for women all over the world. I’m approaching 50 and though I haven’t quite walked through the doors of menopause yet, I know I’m standing on its precipice. It’s part of my regular conversations with friends who are in it and on the other side and I regularly get requests from community members who crave meditations to help them through this transition.

The sun is shining a little brighter. And I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels like today is the day for a fresh start.
But instead of making a list of all the things you resolve to start, do, or become, perhaps you’ll consider something deeper.

For almost 8 years, I’ve been creating meditations for millions of women all around the world. My original mission was to put these little poems of love into the hands of women who could use them to find more calm in their lives.
But I was wrong.
I realized over time that the true value of my meditations was not in the calm, the sleep or the anxiety relief they provided, even though these are all tremendous benefits of meditation.
…so we can hear the whispers of our intuition, our deep inner knowing.
…so we can trust our intuition to guide our decisions.
…so we can act on our divine guidance.
…so we can experience the incredible manifestation of our soul’s desires and purpose in our external world! (i.e. get the job, make the money, attract the soulmate, create the thing, etc.)
