MAKE THE DIFFERENCE YOU WERE BORN TO MAKE

The Business of Thought Leadership podcast is about building your thought leadership around your expertise, your brand and your name. To become well known and highly regarded in the market place for the results you are able to produce for your clients.

Our guests are top thought leaders who have done it. They've become widely known for their expertise and results they're able to deliver for their clients. They all love what they do and get paid very well for doing it.

You'll meet entrepreneurs that have leveraged thought leadership in driving business revenue, coaches that were unknown and barely making ends who later became celebrities and took their income into the 7 figures, consultants that transformed into best-selling authors and built multi-million dollar firms and senior executives who followed their passion, left their day jobs and are changing the world.

We've had interviews with notables such as New Times Best-Selling Author Seth Godin, success and investment coaching icon, Raymond Aaron, a personal coach to billionaires, Alex Charfen & Tony Robbins' Director of Coaching, Marc Von Musser.

Steve Jobs once said "The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do."

Are you crazy enough to join us in making the difference you were born to make. We want you to 10x your impact, your income and your influence every 12 months.

Financially successful people with purpose and passion are changing the world and we want to inspire you to be one of them.

"Deciding isn't the same as wanting. Everybody in Iran who was in our position wanted to be safe. Wanting's easy. Wanting doesn't cost anything, but deciding — that's a whole different animal." — Nicky Billou This Thought Leader Nugget opens with a story Nicky has carried his entire life — the night a Molotov cocktail came through his family's living room window in Tehran when he was eleven years old. His father pulled out the burning wick and poured out the gasoline with his bare hands. The family could have waited, hoped, and watched like many others in their position. Instead, his parents looked at each other and made a decision. They left behind everything — a business, a home, a community — and started over in Canada. That story sets up a principle Nicky has seen confirmed in more than twenty years of coaching and more than a thousand conversations with high performers: the people who most need your help are rarely the ones who will take it. The ones who will are the ones who have already decided they need it. The Latin root of the word decide — to kill off the alternative — is the frame here. Real decision has no plan B. And when you understand that, it changes how you think about your clients, your sales process, and how you spend your energy. If you have ever had a prospect say "let me think about it" and then go silent, this one is worth your time. "The branch that holds the most fruit bows the lowest. People who have nothing to hide speak in a very simple language and act very humble." — Adriana Yuno Adriana Yuno left home at 10, raised herself in her grandmother's house, worked since she was 13 to support her family, and built a career in forensic accounting — all while carrying a label she never accepted. What she learned studying fraud and failing systems turned out to be exactly the training she needed for the mission that found her later: fixing the way children learn. When her son entered school, the reports said exceptional. The classroom said otherwise. Adriana watched a bright, high-functioning child get steadily broken by a system not built for how he thought. So she did what she had always done — she studied, tested, translated, and built. The result was the YUNO Method, developed at her kitchen table and now embedded across Slovenia's schools, hospital programs, and university faculty training. What makes this conversation worth sitting with is Adriana's scope. She's not describing a niche accommodation for neurodivergent kids. She's describing a global pattern: teachers reduced to administrators, classrooms too crowded for connection, curricula still grading memorization in a world where every fact lives in your pocket — and an irreplaceable generation of analog educators walking toward retirement with no one recording what they know. The problem is urgent. Her method is tested. And she is just getting started. Adriana closes with three practical steps any listener can take today — and they apply as much to how you lead and learn as to how you raise or teach a child. "My father believed everybody's self-belief wobbles once in a while. All they need when that happens is for someone to remind them who they are, someone to believe in them. That little spark of belief can turn into a roaring fire, and they're off into the races." — Nicky Billou Before there was a podcast, a coaching practice, or a philosophy of thought leadership, there was a boy in Tehran, standing in his living room with a Molotov cocktail at his feet. His father's quick thinking saved his life that day. Within a few years, that same father had moved the family from Iran to Athens to Toronto — giving up everyone and everything he had ever known so his sons could grow up in freedom. That sacrifice is the origin of everything Nicky Billou has built. This episode is his personal story: the Iranian Revolution, the immigrant journey, a teenage encounter with Ayn Rand, and most of all, a father who modelled a way of doing business that had nothing to do with transactions. A man who cleared his calendar for friends who needed work, who wrote personal checks and called them gifts, and who told his son that all business is solving problems for people for a profit — and that the person sitting across from you is a hero to somebody, and your job is to restore their faith in humanity. Nicky closes with the credential he is most proud of — not a revenue number or a title, but a simple description: professional believer in people. "She's basically my best friend. I've had this horse for 21 years. If we do nothing, she's going to die — so it's one of those decisions you just have to make for them." — Cody Sturgess Cody Sturgess was shortlisted for the Canadian Olympic team in 3-day eventing — an equestrian triathlon that includes cross-country riding at nearly 600 meters per minute over solid, immovable fences. He broke his back in two places during a fall and spent nine months relearning how to walk. He came back. That same refusal to quit became the foundation for everything he built afterward: a real estate business, a Director of Sales role at a North American SaaS company, and an AI company for real estate agents. The conversation covers what elite sport teaches you about business that nobody else will — the discipline of doing the unglamorous work when nobody is watching, the absurdity of trying to build a company without a coach, and the honest math behind self-investment. Nicky shares how Robin Sharma challenged him to triple his personal development spending, and how that single decision took his income from $75,000 to $210,000 in one year. But the emotional center of this episode is Imperial Melody — Melly — the off-the-track thoroughbred Cody bought as a 2-year-old, kept for 21 years, and took to the top of the sport. Melly has now colicked three times in seven months. A large abdominal mass has been found. Cody is taking her to the New Bolton Equine Hospital in Pennsylvania for surgery, and everything raised beyond the $30,000 surgical goal goes directly to equine cancer research — with the goal of building the kind of early screening for horses that already exists for dogs, cats, and humans. A GoFundMe has been set up. Every contribution helps — and every dollar beyond the target goes toward research that could save thousands of other horses from the same fate. "The quality of your life depends on the quality of the questions you ask." — Nicky Billou Most of us never deliberately choose the questions we ask ourselves. We drift into worry, distraction, and scarcity — not because we're undisciplined, but because we never decided what to ask instead. Drawing on Tony Robbins' Personal Power 2 course, I walk through a practice I've been using to take control of where my brain goes each day: designing my questions on purpose, before the day designs them for me. In this short episode, I share the full list I've developed — fifteen questions covering client enrollment, peak state, relationships, screen time, joy, gratitude, and pride — and I answer each one live, in real time. The exercise takes five minutes. The shift in energy is immediate. And the principle behind it is straightforward: your brain moves in the direction of the questions you ask it. Choose better questions, and your focus — and your life — follows. Come up with your own list. Try it tomorrow morning. See what happens.
