Sometimes to make any progress you have to throw your hat in the ring - just stop over thinking everything and have a go. If that is you ( and its certainly me !) use the New Year as a chance to kick start whatever it is that is holding you back..
Over the festive period most of us came across one or two... friendly helpful and always willing to offload your phone. card or even your wallet of a round or two....
If you've got an itch - then you better scratch it ... Metaphorically of course - if you have a desire or craving to do something or a passion for something you've got to do it . A good time to enact a New Years resolution maybe ? Or if you actually do have an itch - its probably about time you paid a visit to the Doctor.
I really enjoy hearing those who clearly are of a high station in life inflicting their own sense of importance on those lesser mortals amongst us ( as long as they're not doing it to me !). If I wasn't dependent on them for my livelihood I'd take great pleasure in telling them where to stick their sense of entitlement.
I like to think that some things survive all onslaughts - come what may
Age takes away do many things but it also ( hopefully) allows you to put things into some sort of perspective,
The days are just starting to get a little longer - the winter solstice is nearly a month past, the shortest day gone for another year and, although its still winter, its good to have those extra minutes at the beginning and end of the day.
Success in Love and comparing it to a massive gamble has always been part of how it goes...

In the recent maelstrom of US led craziness it must be very hard to be the lone voice saying things like - "are you sure this is a good decision ?" or " you can't be serious!"

A guitar part that keeps coming back - so I think I need to offload it ! From July 2023 "Blacklist" was a reflection of my slight ( probably a bit more than that) paranoia that some individuals get put on a blacklist in certain ways of life - I'm sure thats not the case ....?
From the proverb "After the Lord Mayor's show comes the dust-cart" ("donkey-cart", or "shit-cart"). Bringing up the rear of the Lord Mayor's Show is a team to clean the manure of the pageant's horses, So there you go - the early January doldrums after the Christmas / New Year festivities.
A re-mix of a tune from 2023 - Reduce that balance ... In my case that usually refers to the post Festive season request from my bank to bring down the level of my overdraft.. Ah well .. and a Happy New Year to the world of finance.
Like most people with a nice warm bed to go to - the only time I really think about those without a roof over their head - is at Christmas. Those Hughie's out there I hope they found something OK to take them through the winter at the very least.
In the businesses I've been involved in " the bonus" was handed out like Oliver Twist asking for more - you don't deserve it - I may give you something - but I may not. I thought the Victorian era was more than 100 years ago - may be not
I find the bit between Christmas and the New Year quite a good time to "chew the fat" -( I love that expression )- think it all over. I won't get too reflective for too long - honest - but it does no harm to take a step back and reflect on stuff.
From January 2024 - Lurgy. In the UK post covid a fair number of people wear masks when it gets to flu season. We had the worst of it here before Christmas - but it usually picks up again once the children go back to school.
Don't fear the opposition you'll get from trying new things, new directions or opportunities .
