The biggest distinction between people in the next generation will be between those who live by accident and those who live by intention. Specifically, it will be those people who grew up with parents who were intentional about technology, and kept it mostly away from their kids, and those who just "went with the flow" and passed on their screen/technology addiction. How do we buck the trend of "going with the flow", though? If only there were something about humans and how God made us that could protect our kids... Oh yeah, there is. It's called a patriarch. Join me in considering what's coming down the pipeline and how families can raise intentional kids. On this episode, we talk about: 0:00 Intro 1:28 Wise cultures 3:48 How to avoid the vortex of the techno dystopia 9:44 A strong will and community 13:01 We MUST protect children 18:14 What to do now --- Subscribe on Substack ➡️ https://jeremypryor.substack.com   Follow Jeremy on: Instagram: https://instagram.com/jeremympryor/ X: https://x.com/jeremympryor --- Welcome to Jeremy Pryor's Podcast, or what I like to call, "Jeremy Pryor Unfiltered." Sam Harris recently had Doug Wilson on his podcast where he brought up 2 "kill shots" against Christianity. One is women's right to vote. The other is slavery. While I think Doug did a decent job explaining household voting as a reasonable and ideal alternative to our current voting system, he left a LOT to be desired in his defence of Biblical slavery. The first conversation is good, and something we've talked about here at Family Teams, so I hope you'll watch it and get a sense of why household voting could work. But the second one is very important. Not because it's culturally relevant today, necessarily, but because so many atheists and libertarians think that there's a glaring moral hole in the Bible as it relates to slavery. We MUST be able to defend how the Bible talks about slavery, and I give my version of what I think Doug should have said here. On this episode, we talk about: 0:00 Intro 1:43 Doug Wilson responds to whether women should vote 13:16 Boomers and individualism 17:28 How to think about slavery as Christians 36:54 The only abolitionists were Christians Subscribe on Substack ➡️ https://jeremypryor.substack.com Follow Jeremy on: Instagram: https://instagram.com/jeremympryor/ X: https://x.com/jeremympryor Resources Mentioned: Sam Harris & Doug Wilson Full Episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRQ6Tcw9maM JOIN THE FAMILY TEAMS ACCELERATOR: https://familyteams.com/accelerator --- Welcome to Jeremy Pryor's Podcast, or what I like to call, "Jeremy Pryor Unfiltered." Jeremy's joined by Jeff, Ryan, and his daughter Kelsey to discuss whether the Bible encourages today's Christians to honor today's non-believing Jews. This is a hot topic, and I think the answer is yes, but I wanted to hash it out with people on both sides of this. This ended up being a thoughtful discussion ranging from Genesis to the New Testament, from honor to salvation. If you care about the Bible and God's plans for the world and for the Jews in particular, this is an important question to come up with an answer to. On this episode, we talk about: 0:00 Intro 2:49 Ryan's Initial Thoughts 5:56 Jeff's Initial Thoughts 8:52 Jeremy's Position 13:40 5 Examples Where The Bible May Describe a Debt of Honor Being Due 35:25 Definition, Gifts, Romans 48:28 Revoke or Rejected Covenant? 53:52 Why NOT To Be Arrogant 59:57 Parable of Tenants 1:09:53 Nuance of Honor 1:17:28 Abrahamic Covenant Subscribe on Substack ➡️ https://jeremypryor.substack.com Follow Jeremy on: Instagram: https://instagram.com/jeremympryor/ X: https://x.com/jeremympryor --- Welcome to Jeremy Pryor's Podcast, or what I like to call, "Jeremy Pryor Unfiltered." Why is our culture obsessed with sex, race, and Israel? And what do these moral battles have in common? In this episode, we unpack a powerful biblical lens that explains our modern obsession with virtue-signaling and moral outrage. From pride flags to anti-racism campaigns to protests over Gaza, each movement taps into humanity's desperate need to feel good...to be one of the "good guys." But Scripture reveals that this hunger for moral justification isn't new; it began in the Garden of Eden. Discover how the gospel uniquely answers our craving for moral virtue, without hypocrisy, pride, or destruction. What happens when one of America's sharpest liberal thinkers is pressed to define the good life? In this episode, Jeremy unpacks a conversation between New York Times columnists Ross Douthat and Ezra Klein - two brilliant minds from opposite ends of the political spectrum. What begins as a discussion about progressivism's future quickly becomes a deep philosophical exploration of faith, meaning, and purpose in modern politics. Jeremy walks us through the unraveling of Klein's vision for "the good life" and what that says about the spiritual emptiness of today's cultural left. Stay tuned until the end, because what Klein finally admits might surprise you. The shocking murder of Charlie Kirk has shaken many of us. But more than grief, it has unveiled something deeper. In this episode, Jeremy and Phil Cotnoir wrestle with what moments like this reveal: not just political tension, but the spiritual battle beneath it all. What do these "micro-apocalypses" show us about meaning, about the sacred order holding our society together, and about the false religions rising in our culture? Jeremy shares how his own thinking has been reshaped, why silence is no longer an option for Christians, and how we can respond with clarity, courage, and truth. This is a sobering yet hope-filled conversation you won't want to miss. This episode breaks down 3 of the 10 surprising practices of multi-generational families that Jeremy has identified. From celebrating talent in big families (without relying on teachers/coaches/tutors/etc.), to protecting daughters from the degenerate culture of feminism, to setting up the family leadership under a respected and cherished patriarch and matriach...these things are counter-cultural, but that's what we need if we're ever going to build a multi-generational family. This debate shone so much light on the state of the world and how most feminists and young women are thinking about family. It's tragic, but really informative for those of us trying to build strong families that honor both genders, both parents and children, and all generations. Jeremy and his daughter Kelsey react to a recent debate between 3 women on the topic of whether feminism is creating lonely, broken men. They specifically focus on a couple of points: - The assumption by so many that motherhood is miserable, and, - The roles of mothers in community building On this episode, we talk about: 0:00 Intro 3:28 Feminists think motherhood is miserable 15:10 Why is the narrative of parental misery so popular? 21:53 The roles women play in community building 31:31 Build for the future generations 40:06 Preferences vs duty Subscribe on Substack ➡️ https://jeremypryor.substack.com Follow Jeremy on: Instagram: https://instagram.com/jeremympryor/ X: https://x.com/jeremympryor Resources Mentioned: Is Feminism Creating Lonely, Broken, Sexless Men? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHuZ_8VYCWA --- Welcome to Jeremy Pryor's Podcast, or what I like to call, "Jeremy Pryor Unfiltered." What's the big deal about thinking that people inherently struggle with wickedness in their heart (a Christian belief)? OK great, just some theology, right? Wrong. This one, seemingly innocuous question changes everything. In fact, it's at the core of the anti-Christian, anti-life, anti-wisdom movement that's unfolding with increasing speed in our world today. Jeremy and Sydney react to a couple all-time great takes by Dennis Prager, and discuss the importance of this one belief and how it shapes all of society. 🎧 Listen now to rethink what you believe about human nature, wisdom, and how to build a better future. Jeremy is joined by his daughter Sydney Parshall (no longer Pryor!) to discuss why the left/right divide actually exists, and where each side is truly coming from so we can stop being "shocked that we're shocked" by one another.
