Send us a text We're back in the full swing of TIMBP things, folks, and it's time to check out the newest, hottest release from the folks at the Willett Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky! Featuring two separate mashbills and a cask strength bottling, this Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey has had folks wondering if it's the next big thing for their home bars. But, does it live up to expectations? Plus, I've got some little discussions about non-traditional Wild Turkey proof points and I pay a...
Send us a text As another year is officially in the books, I'm taking one final look back before we say goodbye to 2025 forever. What are some of the best pours, some of the worst, and some of those right in between that just didn't quite make the cut? Were you able to predict what I had in my top 10? Were there bourbons (and/or ryes) that should've been here? And what the heck is this Flying Blind I've got lined up for this week's episode? All that and more on Ep. 414 of This is my Bourbon P...
Send us a text Become a patron of the show at http://www.patreon.com/mybourbonpodcast It's the last TIMBP of the year, folks, and we're squeezing one last review in before the clock strikes midnight! That's right: we're taking a final look at a bourbon release that could very well knock our collective socks off (all two of 'em) and give the rest of the year a run for its money. Plus, there was some massive news that made the rounds this week and we better talk about it before things get out ...
Send us a text As we reach the end of the year, I thought it was important to take some time to look at what made 2025 successful and where it fell apart. As I bring Chad Perkins from It's Bourbon Night on to chat about it, we look at the releases we got, the distilleries that opened (and...closed), and how the market fought against all odds to to show up and out in any which way possible. Plus, we check out and review the newest edition of the Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond from Heaven Hill ...
Send us a text It's beginning to look a lot like Rye Time! And we've got two ryes that are going somewhat head to head this week for a double review for you, dear listener/viewer. One, being Rare Character's cocktail rye and the revival label "Hurst Knoll," comes from Lexington, Kentucky, while Seelbach's private label "Christmas Rye" has something to offer for anyone looking towards nostalgia or the opportunity to bring a new sipper into their collection. They're both supposed to be served t...
Send us a text It's time once again, my friends, for another installment of one of my favorite series here on TIMBP. On "The Best Way to Drink," I'll be taking Old Grand Dad 114 to the mat and giving it the 4 pour treatment. Will neat, a splash of water, on the rocks, or with cola this time around? Plus, I'm revisiting a pour from earlier this year to see how it stands up. Get in for a good time, and enjoy. Become a patron of the show at http://www.patreon.com/mybourbonpodcast Leave us a 5 ...
Send us a text The limited release that crosses loves for many bourbon and beer lovers has once again found its way to our glasses. That storied, bourbon barrel finished imperial stout, hailing from the great northern state of...Illinois...comes to us at a hearty 14.8% ABV this time around. Yet, there's something quite different about the presentation and packaging this time around for the Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout...how peculiar. Does it matter, in the end? Perhaps...perhaps no...
Send us a text In yet another shakeup on the podcast, I'm taking a break from bourbon for a week and diving deep into Kentucky's own Cornbread THC Seltzers! Derived from hemp and raised in the Bluegrass, these Commonwealth drinks are an alcohol alternative that are sweeping the nation for those who are looking to change up their evening pours. I'll be tasting the Peach Iced Tea AND the Salted Watermelon flavors, putting them through the paces of Nose, Palate, Finish, and Price, per the usual ...
Send us a text There's a lot of chatter right now around the current status of Maker's Mark's Cask Strength Bourbon product and what's next for it. As the most recent release features an age statement and a curious "Limited Bottling" tag on the label, as well as a significant decrease in the amount of non-age stated product available, there isn't a lot of clarity as to what's happening behind the scenes. So, what should we expect? Are we being set up for a massive change and we don't know it ...
Send us a text Well well well, fancy seeing you back here for another review episode of TIMBP! But, wait...this isn't even bourbon! Well, that's because I haven't had the pleasure of reviewing the brand new, very first rye whiskey from my friend Dixon Dedman over at 2XO. That's right, folks, this week I'm taking a look at the 2XO White Oak Rye, a double oaked rye whiskey that uses Dixon's proprietary finishing process. Coming in at 92 proof with no age statement, how does this one live up? An...
Send us a text We're taking a break from the normal bourbon content this week, and instead I'm turning my attention to the sweet delights of rum! I'm welcoming. some Latino friends onto the pod, as well, to help me through the process of tasting it and get into some of the nuance of the spirit. Plus, I get them to taste a smidgen of bourbon, just to get things warmed up. Enjoy. Send us a text Cory Marks has been carving his own path through the music industry as he drinks Jack Daniel's on Whiskey River and apologizes for absolutely nothing (seriously: he's made two whole albums about it). But, I got the chance to sit down with him and see what's behind the guitar and the lyrics while keeping the industry at the forefront, and people might not be ready for what he has to say. Plus, New Belgium's "Oakspire" has been in my crosshairs recently and I gotta know...is ther...
Send us a text BACK for another review, and this time I'm checking out something from our friends over at Found North. It's a brand new 15 Year Old Canadian Whiskey with some truly special offerings inside that you're not gonna want to miss out on and I think you're gonna want to hear what I have to say. Plus, I crack into the newest Widow Jane Bourbon and see what's going on with the Mythological Oak finish. Things are interesting right now, folks, and I hope you enjoy. Become a patron of t...

Get around it, and enjoy. Become a patron of the show at http://www.patreon.com/mybourbonpodcast Leave us a 5 star rating and review on your ...
Send us a text The father/son founding duo of 15 Stars, Rick Johnson and Ricky Johnson, return to TIMBP to talk their newest endeavors and offerings, which brings three new bourbons to the market. With the newest releases under the First West banner coming to a liquor store near you and the continued success of 15 Stars, just what have Rick & Ricky been up to? And what's next for them? Plus, I've got one of the wickedest Flying Blinds in a while. All that and more on This is my Bourbon Po...
Send us a text It's hard to put into words what this weekly podcast about bourbon has meant to me over the past 8 years and 400 episodes. I've laughed a lot (too much, for some people), cried (too much, by own measure), and brought the bourbon industry to light in the best way I have always sought fit. This week, as I continue to make the same mark, I review this year's edition of the Four Roses Small Batch Limited Edition. Should this be heralded as one of the best releases of 2025? How do t...

Send us a text Offering bourbons and a rye from locally sourced grain to offer a truly unique run of products, Heaven Hill brings something new to the table that not many heritage distillers can say they have been able to bottle in the modern era of whiskey. After two years of releases, though, how have they been able to refine them and what has changed since 2024's series? Plus, what else have I been up to since you last saw me? Or, ya know...heard me? All that and more on This is my Bourbon...
Send us a text Friend of the show and master blender/proprietor of The Bond and Thornbush, Logan Bechanan, has returned to the show for a fun afternoon of pours from their upcoming lineup of single barrels and products that will go into production for bourbons and ryes! Logan and I discuss some industry insights, as well as have some pours of products that we can't even name, or else we might get in a little trouble. But, it's a great time and you're not gonna want to miss it. Enjoy. Become ...

After hearing your tasting of the Barrell Rye b1, and I think you have talked about it previously, I decided to grab one today, my local honey hole still has 6 bottles on the shelf. Hope it's as good as advertised.
