Description

Mother and son team Mom and Mac discuss, analyze, dissect and explore international horror movies. Conversations are casual but spoiler-heavy. We take turns choosing a genre or subgenre of horror and pairing an international film with an American one. Past episodes have included: Funny Games, One Missed Call, Let the Right One In/Let Me In. Genres we have covered are Animal Attack (BOAR from Australia and TREMORS); Creepy Kids (GOODNIGHT, MOMMY from Austria and ORPHAN); Battle Royale-type films (BATTLE ROYALE from Japan and THE BELKO EXPERIMENT); Haunted Houses (THE HOUSE AT THE END OF TIME from Venezuela and BEETLEJUICE). Special episodes feature foundational international horror films or guests who come on to highlight a film that "Means the World of Horror" to them. https://linktr.ee/WorldofHorror

Send us Fan Mail WoHos! We had such a good time with our Feel Good Fall Films that we decided to do two more: PARANORMAN & TURNING RED, two modern classics of animation. Send us Fan Mail WoHos! Sometimes you have to break your own rules, you know what I mean? While we usually pair an international horror film with an American one, this week, we looked at two American films. We tried not to swear, but that was a fool's errand! Next time we will be looking at MORE Feel Good Fall Films with TURNING RED & ...

Send us Fan Mail This week, despite technical difficulties and returning back to school, we were able to have a wonderful conversation about serial killers. We had to stitch together three different recordings together, but I think I smoothed it out pretty well. We both listened to and watched AMERICAN PSYCHO and had fun comparing them despite being traumatized by Bret Easton Ellis. Mom thinks MEMOIR OF A MURDERER (not to be confused with MEMORIES OF MURDER) is a good watch once. Mac mi...

Send us Fan Mail WoHos! This week I had the pleasure of speaking to filmmaker and Animal Attacks film fan, Stefan MacDonald-Labelle. We also discuss Stefan's adventures on the Indie Film Festival Circuit, crossing the border into the U.S., cute dogs, and the insufferable heat. Next time on the main ...
