You're scrolling and suddenly you see a headline on The New York Times saying: "Protein Is Overrated." "Cold Plunges Don't Work." "Supplements Are a Waste of Money." And now you're spiraling. In this episode, I teach you how to spot oversimplified, click-driven health information - even when it comes from major media outlets. Because let's face it: most of it is total BS. In this episode, I'm diving into: How headlines are written for engagement Why single studies get blown out of proportion Correlation vs. causation, and why that matters A simple 5-question filter you can use anytime you read a health article ... and more! --- Show Notes: Sign up for a 1:1 Discovery Call Join the Imperfectly Paige Wellness Community Join the Compass Method DIY Program Jump inside my Rock the Bloat Minicourse Get my Core-Gi Workout Program with the exclusive listener discount! Somewhere along the way, vaginal birth got labeled "natural" and C-sections got labeled "failure," and women have been quietly carrying the weight of that narrative ever since. Myself included, since Jasper ended up being a C-section baby - something I had never even considered would be possible. In this episode, I cover: What actually happens hormonally and physically during a vaginal birth Why a C-section isn't the "easy way out" Why pelvic floor therapy is recommended for any type of birth How to support your baby's microbiome no matter their birth method ... and more! --- Show Notes: 191: Jasper's Birth Story Sign up for a 1:1 Discovery Call Join the Imperfectly Paige Wellness Community Join the Compass Method DIY Program Jump inside my Rock the Bloat Minicourse Get my Core-Gi Workout Program with the exclusive listener discount! Gallbladder and bile issues are some of the most common digestive problems in the western world - and with good reason. But you have more control over preventing these problems than you might think -- meaning you don't have to wait for the pain to be so intense that you get your gallbladder removed. (And even then, it might not solve your issues). In today's rebooted show, I'm telling you all about: - what bile's role is in the body - the signs to look for BEFORE gallstones form - why bile is key to more than just fat digestion & absorption - how to improve bile synthesis and flow without medications ... and more! Did you know that you're really only highly likely to get pregnant during 5 days out of an entire menstrual cycle? Because most people don't - that's why hormonal birth control is so popular. However, if you're wanting to transition off the pill but still want to avoid a baby right now, there IS another way: and that's exactly what we're diving into this week. Listen on to find out: - how to take accurate basal body temp (BBT) readings - reasons why your temperature could be abnormally high - how to track your cervical mucus (yup, it's actually important!) - how BBT & cervical mucus can be used to track when you're most fertile ... and more! --- Show Notes: Get some Organifi Harmony with code IPW to save 20% Sign up for a 1:1 Discovery Call Join the Imperfectly Paige Wellness Community Join the Compass Method DIY Program Jump inside my Rock the Bloat Minicourse Get my Core-Gi Workout Program with the exclusive listener discount! If listening to your body were really that easy, we'd all be in perfect physical and healthy shape. In this episode, I'm talking about why this is some of the most well intentioned but poorly explained advice in wellness - especially if you've lived in chronic stress, diet culture, postpartum depletion, or burnout. I'm talking: How chronic stressors distort hunger, fatigue, and cravings Why exhaustion and restlessness often exist at the same time How to use structure to support your body without overly controlling it Examples of what listening to your body actually looks like in real life ... and more! --- Show Notes: Get some BiOptimizers Magnesium with code IPW to save Sign up for a 1:1 Discovery Call Join the Imperfectly Paige Wellness Community Join the Compass Method DIY Program Jump inside my Rock the Bloat Minicourse Get my Core-Gi Workout Program with the exclusive listener discount! From a functional medicine perspective, fatigue isn't caused by a single thing; it's the result of multiple systems being depleted at the same time. In this episode of Paige Talks Wellness, I unpack why "just rest" often isn't enough for chronic fatigue, burnout, postpartum depletion, and nervous system exhaustion, and why struggling to feel better doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong. Why rest alone can't fix chronic fatigue and burnout Why slowing down can feel worse before it feels better How to support your body without doing more or trying harder The difference between resting and recovering ... If you're feeling overwhelmed by wellness advice, discouraged by your lack of progress, or like your body just isn't responding the way it "should," this episode is for you. Inside, I'm sharing what I truly think matters when it comes to healing - after years of trying to do everything "right," chasing protocols, and believing that more effort would finally fix how I felt. Why doing more for your health can sometimes keep you stuck How under-fueling (even unintentionally) blocks progress Why consistency and patience matter more than perfect plans The role that safety plays in healing ... If you've been on any kind of health-related social media this month, you know that all the hype is about eating enough protein, having enough fiber, and balancing your blood sugar. But how much of it is just hype, and how much is actually based in science and something you should care about? Inside this episode, I'm talking about: What blood sugar regulation actually is (and why it affects anxiety, fatigue, mood, and cravings) Why protein and fiber support hormones, digestion, and nervous system stability - especially for women How diet culture hijacks neutral nutrition advice and turns it into morality What supporting blood sugar can look like in real life - without tracking, perfection, or restriction --- Show Notes: Get some Equip Protein Powder - my code IPW gives you a discount! Jenn Trepeck has been described as a "force of nature" in the wellness space. She is a Health and Lifestyle Coach, Podcaster, and Consultant. Jenn grew up the skinny one in a family of dieters which was awesome(!) until it went away. And so began her weight management saga. Ultimately, though, Jenn learned the nutrition education we're all supposed to know, but no one ever taught us. This completely changed her life and allowed her to say she "kicked her food issues." From then, Jenn set-out on a mission to pay it forward and help people help themselves. After over a decade of working with clients, Jenn started Salad with a Side of Fries podcast. Based on science, yet lighthearted, Jenn talks about living life while still making ourselves and our health a priority. Jenn's debut book, Uncomplicating Wellness (October 2025), offers a science-based yet practical approach to cut through the noise of the wellness industry and help readers finally trust their bodies again. In this episode, we cover: - how the wellness industry is just new branding of the old diet culture - how to spot BS health advice online - learning how to read your body's signals - how to reframe your New Year's resolution to make you actually stick to it ... and more! You can connect with her over on Instagram: @jenntrepeck Or check out her website: asaladwithasideoffries.com Or her podcast, Facebook, or YouTube, all linked here as well. As parents, we expect the occasional food reaction. Maybe a rash, some fussiness, or a tummy ache. But what happens when your child suddenly becomes violently ill hours after eating something they've had before, and no one seems to know why? That was my reality when Jasper had this kind of reaction to shrimp. Inside this episode, I'm digging into: What FPIES is and how it differs from IgE-mediated food allergies Common trigger foods and why reactions can show up hours later Our experience with Jasper's shrimp reaction (and what we learned from it) How to navigate fear around food after a reaction Why trusting your instincts and advocating for your child matters --- Show Notes: Sign up for a 1:1 Discovery Call Join the Imperfectly Paige Wellness Community Join the Compass Method DIY Program Jump inside my Rock the Bloat Minicourse Get my Core-Gi Workout Program with the exclusive listener discount! This Thanksgiving, while you're trying to enjoy time with family and eat the meal you spent hours preparing, the world is loudly jumping back on the "skinny" trend. In this episode, I'm talking about the uncomfortable truth behind society's obsession with making women smaller. Because this isn't just about bodies, it's about control. So today I'm breaking down: Why thinness is suddenly "back" and who benefits from that How holiday diet culture keeps women guilty, quiet, and distracted The political and historical reasons societies push women to shrink Why focusing on our bodies keeps us from focusing on our power How to navigate Thanksgiving without falling into the guilt-and-restriction trap What reclaiming your space - physically and emotionally - looks like this season --- Show Notes: Sign up for a 1:1 Discovery Call Join the Imperfectly Paige Wellness Community Join the Compass Method DIY Program Jump inside my Rock the Bloat Minicourse Get my Core-Gi Workout Program with the exclusive listener discount! Motherhood changes everything: your priorities, your energy, your routines, and especially your work schedule. As a health coach, I used to think I had my days planned down to the minute. Then I had a baby and realized life laughs at your routines. In this episode, I'm getting real about what it looks like to run a business around nap schedules, changing rhythms, and the constant push-pull between wanting to do it all and needing to rest. I'll discuss: The constant juggle of client calls, naps, and rest (& why it's okay to admit it's hard) How I restructured my business to protect my energy and family time The mindset shift that helped me stop feeling so guilty about work & rest What my real-life wellness routines look like with a toddler in tow Why you can't pour into others (or your business) if you're running on empty --- Show Notes: Equip Protein Powder - Use code IPW! I used to follow every clean-eating rule I could find. From the outside, it looked like I had it all together. But on the inside? I was completely consumed by food. In this episode, I'm opening up about my experience with orthorexia - the obsession with eating "right" that completely took over my life. If you've ever felt anxious about food, struggled to eat without guilt, or wondered if your healthy habits might have gone too far, this episode is for you. In this episode, I talk about: What orthorexia really is and how it hides under the label of "clean eating" The sneaky ways restriction and food fear can show up in your life My personal stories of control, anxiety, and the physical toll of under-fueling Why bingeing isn't a failure - it's your body's cry for nourishment The signs that your "healthy" habits have crossed the line into obsession What healing from orthorexia actually looks like (and how freeing it can be) --- Show Notes: Sign up for a 1:1 Discovery Call Join the Imperfectly Paige Wellness Community Join the Compass Method DIY Program Jump inside my Rock the Bloat Minicourse Get my Core-Gi Workout Program with the exclusive listener discount! Lisa Schlosberg is the founder of Out of the Cave, LLC, where she combines her comprehensive expertise as a licensed social worker, integrative nutrition health coach, certified personal trainer, and registered yoga teacher to guide emotional eaters toward physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health and healing. Maintaining a 150-pound weight loss for more than a decade by healing her relationship with food (through emotional healing, somatic experiencing, mindset shifts, and more), Lisa discovered that her lifelong struggles with "morbid obesity" and "disordered eating" were symptoms of unprocessed trauma and emotional stress. This realization fueled her passion for helping others navigate similar challenges with a heart-centered, trauma-informed approach. Her strengths-based philosophy is rooted in the belief that using food to cope is a valid method of managing stress, and it is possible to heal from the inside out. Driven to make her work accessible to all, Lisa hosts the Out of the Cave podcast, where she shares powerful client stories and expert insights to inspire global transformation. In this episode, we cover: - why you might be using food as a coping skill - why your relationship to food might be influenced by trauma - how to begin coming back into your body - how to create a life you don't need to escape ... and more! If you've ever felt like your list of "off-limits" foods just keeps getting longer, this episode is for you. I'm breaking down the truth about food sensitivities - what they actually are, how they're different from allergies and intolerances, and why your symptoms might show up differently than your friend's. Because food isn't the enemy. Once you support your gut, calm your immune system, and rebuild tolerance, your body can go back to doing what it's designed to do: thrive with variety. In this episode, I'll cover: The real difference between food allergies, sensitivities, and intolerances - and why mixing them up leads to confusion Why food sensitivity symptoms can show up days after eating and look totally different from person to person The truth about IgG food sensitivity tests and what those "reactive" foods actually mean How gut dysfunction, stress, and environmental toxins set the stage for reactivity A step-by-step guide to doing an elimination and reintroduction process safely and effectively Why cutting out more foods isn't the answer - and how to rebuild tolerance so you can enjoy eating again --- Show Notes: Sign up for a 1:1 Discovery Call Join the Imperfectly Paige Wellness Community Join the Compass Method DIY Program Jump inside my Rock the Bloat Minicourse Get my Core-Gi Workout Program with the exclusive listener discount!
