When Natalie Wood drowned in 1981 she was only 43 years old. The Blair Witch Project

2025-10-2001:25:13

In 1999, a found footage documentary showed audiences the terrifying last days of 3 intrepid filmmakers before they disappeared forever. Thanks to the popularity of the film, their mothers received condolence calls and police offered to reopen their case - there was just one problem… they were actors and they were very much alive. ‘The Blair Witch Project’ shattered box office records thanks in no small part to its brilliant viral marketing campaign. But while studios made millions, its incredibly talented young stars were essentially left for dead. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

I rolled my eyes at first at the notion of the backwards telling of this story as a tribute to the film. At first. the conceit grew on me and at a certain point I realized when the transition happened that I was smiling ruefully shaking my head and eager to hear more. This was a risk and it paid off for me.

Excellent coverage of the movie! I genuinely love this podcast. The fifty shades episode disappointed me a bit, though. The hosts are so good at calling out problematic directors, but do nothing but praise Sam Taylor-johnson. She’s certainly a problematic figure; she started dating her now husband when he was just 19 and she was 42. Legal, sure, but very gross and I would argue unethical.

"People are dumb." Gee, thanks, lizzie. you're making these episodes a painful listen. you just can't keep your mouth shut or spew an opinion while chris is talking. Chris' info was a great listen. I just wish I could mute out lizzie.

lizzies demeanor is making it harder to listen to episodes. I get you have an opinion, but just because you do, doesn't mean it's a good one or accurate one.
