Happy October! We are hurtling through the Ber months, and I can't believe that October is already half over. In today's episode I read you another cozy Christmas story. It's called "The Shadow of Christmas Present" by Willis Allen Boyd. In the story our main character just finished reading A Christmas Carol, and seems pretty happy with not being a Scrooge... however, the Ghost of Christmas Present arrives and shows him there is still work to do! Grab a warm blanket and a hot beverage, and let's settle in here by the Christmas fire and enjoy another wonderful story! (A quick note - once or twice I refer to the story as The Shadow of Christmas Past (instead of Present)... sorry for any confusion that might cause. What can I say except my brain had a hiccup and I didn't catch the mistake until I published the episode!) Happy end of September everyone! In today's episode I talk about a couple of Christmas books I've read recently, and I read you a funny little story by Canadian humorist Stephen Leacock. It's called "The Errors of Santa Claus", and I think it might be a story that many of you can relate with. You'll have to forgive my voice in this one sounding a bit stuffy, I've had a bit of a back to school cold. Perhaps I should follow Scrooge's example, and "make a little saucepan of gruel upon the hob!"  Books Mentioned: A Nutcracker Nightmare by Christina Romeril History Matters by David McCullough Timestamps 00:00 It's Fall! 01:30 Cozy Book Corner 12:38 Story: The Errors of Santa Claus 21:25 Concluding Thoughts Ways to support the show: Rate and review: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/a-cozy-christmas-podcast/id1523423375  Buy me a coffee? www.ko-fi.com/cozychristmas  Ornaments, Mugs, and Notebooks: https://www.etsy.com/shop/CozyChristmasPodcast  Logo shirt designs: http://tee.pub/lic/edygC_h4D1c    Contact Me: facebook: https://www.facebook.com/cozychristmaspodcast  instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cozychristmaspodcast/  twitter: https://twitter.com/CozyXmasPod  youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCikiozEbu0h9pKeI1Ei5TQ email: [email protected]   #podcast #christmas #christmaspodcast

Hello and welcome to the Cozy Christmas Podcast! Today's episode is a joint venture with my other podcast, The Bookshelf Odyssey, and I will be interviewing author Kim Harrington. She has a brand new book out just in time for the Christmas season called "A Killer for Christmas". It's described as mashup of a Hallmark movie, a cozy mystery, and murder! In the interview we talk about her writing journey, how she went from avid reader to a writer, and how an off-hand comment made by her husband inspired her to make the transition from YA author to writing for adults! Plus we dig into her favorite Christmas memories, traditions and more!  Find Kim Harrington and her books online at: https://kimharringtonbooks.com  Find me on: Instagram  Facebook  Bluesky    Ways to support the show: Rate and review: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/a-cozy-christmas-podcast/id1523423375  Buy me a coffee? www.ko-fi.com/cozychristmas  Ornaments, Mugs, and Notebooks: https://www.etsy.com/shop/CozyChristmasPodcast  Logo shirt designs: http://tee.pub/lic/edygC_h4D1c  Contact Me: facebook: https://www.facebook.com/cozychristmaspodcast  instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cozychristmaspodcast/  twitter: https://twitter.com/CozyXmasPod  youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCikiozEbu0h9pKeI1Ei5TQ email: [email protected]      #podcast #christmas #christmaspodcast

We made it to the 'Ber months! In today's episode of a Cozy Christmas Podcast, I'll tell you the story of a saint I learned about who LITERALLY saved Christmas. We'll find out about St. Aphrodisius, and his connection to Christmas, and what lessons we can learn from his life. And then I read you another old, cozy, Christmas story called "The Tell-Tale Tile" by Olive Thorne Miller. Now, don't let the title's allusion to an Edgar Allan Poe story frighten you - this story is definetly a cozy one! It tells the story of old Miss Bennett, who gives out of her poverty to a neighbor. What impact will that have on her, especially as she fears going to the poor house? Well, tune in to find out!  Timestamps: 00:00 Intro and Catch Up 01:40 St. Aphrodisius, the Bishop of Béziers 15:00 Story Introduction 17:46 The Tell-Tale Tile by Olive Thorne Miller 35:39 Thoughts on the story, Dolly Parton, and giving to those in need Ways to support the show: Rate and review: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/a-cozy-christmas-podcast/id1523423375  Buy me a coffee? www.ko-fi.com/cozychristmas  Ornaments, Mugs, and Notebooks: https://www.etsy.com/shop/CozyChristmasPodcast  Logo shirt designs: http://tee.pub/lic/edygC_h4D1c    Contact Me: facebook: https://www.facebook.com/cozychristmaspodcast  instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cozychristmaspodcast/  twitter: https://twitter.com/CozyXmasPod  youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCikiozEbu0h9pKeI1Ei5TQ email: [email protected]     #podcast #christmas #christmaspodcast
