The only things these neighbors can agree on is that their friendship ended with a broken nose! This week on Judging Judy, we return to 2020, the most fun year on record, for a case of assault and battery …or was it self-defense? Judy will have to decide whether Kimberly deserved the brutalizing Carrie gave her! And we’ll have to decide whether Judy did her job, because this is Judging Judy, the only podcast that turns the tables on America’s favorite TV judge.Want to support the pod? Send a $1 or two to us at tiptopjar.com/judgingjudyKimberly claims that her neighbor Carrie attacked her solely for insinuating that she was on drugs. Kimberly claims she was just trying to help, especially as Carrie had consistently come to her complaining of drug use and infidelity on her husband’s part. But when Kimberly offered a drug test to finally get some answers, she claims that Carrie responded with a punch instead of a pee.If we believe Carrie, the punch came after Kimberly tried to have sex with Carrie’s husband. It’s a little hard to follow, but Carrie claims that Kimberly actually attacked her, and that the broken nose was the result of flailing limbs and self-defense. She doesn’t deny the nose was broken; she just says Kimberly had it coming.Judy will have to decide whether Kimberly gets a payday for her pain and suffering, but we get to decide Judy’s fate. Each week, we examine the judge’s rulings, certainly, but just as important we examine Judy herself. Her words. Her emotions. Her actions. Her demeanor. And if we found she delivered justice to her audience, we find her innocent. But…if not..Fans of podcasts like the Doughboys, All Fantasy Everything and Smartless will feel right at home with Judging Judy with its witty repartee, pop culture insights and fearless commentary. Like Stephen Colbert? How about yogurt? What about freedom? Fans of all three of those things will also love Judging Judy, a one of a kind comedy podcast full of laughs even for those who have never seen the seminal TV show.
All they wanted to do was have a classic Vegas marriage -- but what they got was cheese and crackers….and only cheese in crackers! This week on Judging Judy, we bounce back to 1997 where we’ve got a case of two newlyweds who say their wedding planner ruined their big day. But were their expectations simply too high, especially for the pittance they paid? It’ll be up to Judy to decide they were hoodwinked or if they got exactly what they bargained for.And it will be up to us to pass judgement on the judge herself, because this, of course, is America’s favorite podcast about America’s least favorite judge, Judge Judy. Diane says her wedding planner made a mess of her matrimonial celebration. From the limo to the food to even getting their names right, Diane has a list of complaints as long as the train on her wedding dress. She claims Monique was incompetent and managed to tarnish the event for Diane’s friends and family. But Monique says that Diane got exactly what she paid for. In fact, out of pity, Diane even says she gave the bride extras to make up for the paltry big day. Monique values her business and won’t put up with her good name being dragged through the mud by this angry bride. Will Judy side with the newlyweds or the Vegas planners? Will she have pity on the bride who saw her big dreams wind up as little more than cheese and crackers? Or will she find that the planners were right: you only get so much when you spend so little on the big day? Most importantly, will we find Judy innocent or will we guilty? Will we find that she did her job or did she muck up everything? Each week, we take an episode of Judge Judy and turn it upside down. Sure, we’re interested in the rulings but we care just as much about the Judge herself. How did she act? How did she talk? What did she think she was doing?!Fans of the Doughboys, John Oliver, Stephen King and All Fantasy Everything will love Judging Judy, the comedy podcast that turns the tables…finally! For over twenty five years, Judge Judy was a cultural icon who got to judge us without any consequence. Well, now it’s our turn. Nostalgia. Zeitgeist. Social commentary. Judging Judy’s got it all.
It’s back to April 1998, and we’ve got love triangles and motorcycle crashes in the courtroom today. Will Judy side with the woman who loaned her waiter money but was never paid back? Will Judy side with the ex-girlfriend who wrecked the motorcycle? And, even more importantly, will we find Judy innocent or will we find her guilty? This is the Judging Judy podcast, the wildly popular comedy podcast that turns the tables on America’s least favorite TV judge. Each week, we dive into an episode of the long-running show to examine the cases, certainly, but even more interestingly, we analyze the Judge herself to determine if she did her job. If she did…well, then she’s innocent. But, if not, she’s guilty. In our first case, a woman and her husband claimed that they came to befriend their favorite waiter and, over time, trusted him enough to loan him cash. However, she claims that he ghosted them and never paid back the cash. He says, however, that cash was just one of many gifts he received from these two, and that they were motivated by romantic interest in him. Who will Judy decide deserves to get served? Our second case features a young woman who always wanted to ride a motorcycle. When she started dating a guy who owned one, she convinced him to let her ride it. Unfortunately, she didn’t know what she was doing and got in a wreck. Now she wants him to pay her medical bills, and he wants her to pay to fix the bike. Will Judy give either one of them any cash or have they crashed out?Judging Judy is a one-of-a-kind podcast that examines the social impact of one of America’s pop culture icons. For over three decades, Judy has impacted how we think about ourselves and each other. But, never before has the judge faced the same level of scrutiny she doled out from her big seat. That changes with Judging Judy.Fans of All Fantasy Everything, Stephen Colbert, the Doughboys, John Oliver and Michael Ian Black will appreciate this podcast’s snarky attitude, challenging perspective and refreshing commentary on the cases and the judge.
It’s 2005 all over again — and this time, it’s personal! We’ve got a case of a bar room brawl between a big doofus and a trained martial artist; plus, we’ve got a mysterious case of one man getting his limo driver to pay for two hotel rooms! Will Judy side with the moron who overstepped and got his teeth messed up? Will she find that this limo driver got taken for a ride? And, more importantly, will we find Judy innocent or guilty? Because this is Judging Judy, the snarky podcast that turns the tables on America’s favorite, least favorite TV judge.Enjoying the pod? Consider supporting us by sending a dollar or two our way at tiptopjar.com/judgingjudy. Or don’t. Whatever. I’m not your boss In our first case, Patrick says that Ed assaulted him in a bar, totally unprovoked. Ed doesn’t deny he threw the punch; in fact, he’s quite proud of it. But he alleges that Patrick actually started the whole kerfuffle. Judy has her suspicions it was all over a young lass who appeared to be playing both sides, but will that factor into her decision? For case #2, James says that he drove Tim around for days, and then when Tim needed a hotel room but didn’t have his wallet, he paid for it instead. Not only that, but James also gave Tim spending money. But when the bill came due, all Tim had was excuses. Tim claims none of the above happened, despite much evidence to the contrary, and has only the paltriest of explanations for his actions. It’s up to Judy to decide just how much he owes James for all of his shenanigans.Of course, after all that nonsense, it will be up to us to decide if Judy did her job, and if she’s innocent, or if she was derelict in her duties, and is guilty. Each week, we hop into Judy’s extensive archives and dive deep into the cases that came before her in her TV court. We’re interested in her rulings, certainly. But we’re just as interested in the Judge herself! Was she out of control? Was she rude? Did she act fairly? Was the whole thing entertaining? We ask those questions and more to come up with our own ruling for Judy: innocent…or guilty. For fans of Stephen Colbert, the Doughboys, Comedy Bang Bang, Blank Check and All Fantasy Everything, Judging is a one-of-a-kind look at the person behind the gavel, Judge Judy. For over 25 years she had an inescapable place in our cultural zeitgeist. But while she had free rein to judge us, never before had we had the chance to judge the judge. Now it’s our turn. Nostalgic, zany, critical and smart all in one, Judging Judy is guaranteed to make you think and laugh…and it might surprise you!
It’s back to 1998 and Judy’s all about the jewels this week. With two cases about rings, she’s really got a finger on her plaintiffs’ most precious pieces. But will she side with them or with the defense? And, just as importantly, will we find Judy innocent or will we find her guilty? Because, naturally, this is Judging Judy, the most popular Judge Judy podcast and the only one that turns the tables on America’s favorite TV judge. With Case #1, two former lovers find themselves on the outs after he cheated on her. But now she’s on the hook for the engagement ring she had to pay for plus a set of tires he charges to her credit card. He says he never agreed to pay for her big, pricey piece of jewelry and shouldn’t have to foot the bill. Will Judy side with the scorned woman and get her her money back or will her pleas not ring true? For Case #2, it’s a case of a long-term friendship torn asunder over theft. After the defendant spiraled deep into drug abuse, she stole from her friend of over fifteen years to pay back a debt and save her life. Though she’s repentant, she thinks her friend is asking for too much money to pay her back for the stolen goods. Will Judy side with the big spender who finds herself one ring short? Or will she find sympathy for the recovering addict who just wants to do right by the world? All of that is very important, but the only thing that really matters is our ruling. Each week, we examine a case from Judy’s extensive archives. We review the case and Judy’s rulings, certainly; but we’re just as interested in the Judge herself. Did she conduct herself with dignity? Did she entertain? Did she rule fairly? If the answer those questions is yes, then Judy is innocent. But, if not, she’s guilty. Perfect for fans of comedy podcasts like the Doughboys, Cinephobe, How Did This Get Made, and Comedy Bang Bang, Judging Judy offers a hilarious analysis of one of America’s most popular cultural icons of the last quarter century. Across TV, books, podcasts and other media, Judge Judy ruled over the airwaves. But while the world appreciated her caustic wit and her one liners, none of us had the chance to give the Judge our own ruling. Well, that all changes with this one-of-a-kind podcast.
Dial up was all the rage. Chat rooms were the next big thing.Love was in the air..that’s right, it’s back to 1997 and all that it has to offer this week. Specifically, that means we’ve got one case about an internet romance gone wrong and another about a mom who says her adult kid scammed her out of money. Who will Judy side with? Will she yell? Will she scream? Will she roll her eyes? There’s only one way to find out! This is Judging Judy, the podcast that finally turns the tables on America’s favorite least favorite TV judge. It’s about time Judy gets a taste of her own medicine! Enjoying the pod? Consider supporting us by sending a dollar or two our way at tiptopjar.com/judgingjudy. Or don’t. Whatever. I’m not your boss In Case #1, our married plaintiff claims that he only wanted to be friends with the married defendant, despite spending hours and hours romancing with her online. Plus, he invited her to come to California. But, he swears, he only wanted to be friends! Now, he wants her to pay for the hotel room he booked for her in the Golden State. Will Judy see through this strange smoke screen or will she be down with some modern love? Our second case has a lady who claims her daughter is a scam artist whoa after lying about contracting cancer, scammed her out of $2,000. Thankfully, the daughter didn’t die of her pretend illness, but she did make off with quite a bit of her mom’s money, if our plaintiff is to believed! But will Judy think she’s the one being scammed? Judging Judy is an experience. It’s a revelation. It’s the funniest podcast since the Doughboys or Neighborhood Listen! Each week, we tackle a case from the Judge Judy archives, but not because we’re fans of the show: we’re here to decide if this cultural icon truly delivered justice. Funny, insightful, and biting, Judging Judy offers a critical look at society and pop culture with a sarcastic, unrelenting angle.
Coming to us from the high-flying days of early 2017, we’ve got two classic cases from Judge Judy. First, a custom wig order gone wrong. Second, a grandmother trades $3,000 for the right to see her grandkids; now she wants her money back. Will Judy side with the lady who never got the wig she was promised? Will she rule in favor of the plaintiff who says her ex-son-in-law never paid her back as he promised? And, just as importantly, will we find that Judy is innocent…or is she guilty? Because this is Judging Judy, the only podcast that turns the tables on America’s favorite, least favorite judge.Enjoying the pod? Consider supporting us by sending a dollar or two our way at tiptopjar.com/judgingjudy. Or don’t. Whatever. I’m not your boss In Case 1, Abidemi says the salon never got her wig order right. Not only did they skip measuring her head, but they got the part all wrong. Even after they tried to fix it, she wasn’t happy. But when her credit card company sided with the salon, the only place she could turn was daytime TV. Judy has to decide whether or not the contract Abidemi signed is valid or if the customer really is always right. Case 2 pits a former mother-in-law against the father of her grandchildren. When he was injured, he took $3,000 from her; in exchange, he let her see the grandkids, even though his ex-wife tried to keep them away from her. Although she was happy to help him pay his bills, she says it was meant as a loan. After all, she doesn’t have a job either — all she does is gamble with her fiancee’s money. Our judge will have to decide if this dad is derelict in his duties to the lady formerly known as his mother-in-law. In the end, the real decision is ours. We have to consider Judy’s decisions, sure, but also her conduct, her words, her behavior and her entertainment factor. Only then will we be able to determine if Judy is innocent or guilty. Are you a fan of the Doughboys and Cinephobe? What about All Fantasy Everything? Well, how about Comedy Bang Bang? I only ask these questions because Judging Judy is perfect for fans of any and all of these podcasts! Unafraid to critically examine pop-culture icon Judge Judy, this comedy podcast is like no other. A mix of recap show, nostalgia trip and social examination, Judging Judy reexamines the people and the cases that dominated our TVs through a whole new lens. Offering a fresh, funny, light-hearted but also clever perspective and a voice like no other, make Judging Judy the next podcast in your rotation.
It’s back to 1997 this week in a classic case of mad mom versus bad dad. She says he’s abusive, an untrustworthy drug addict and late on paying his fare share of their bills. He says he should get cash because she won’t let him see their kid. All the while, their kid is caught in the middle. Will Judy side with mommy or daddy in this family feud? And, even more importantly, will we find Judy innocent or guilty of delivering justice? Because, of course, this is the only podcast that turns the tables on America’s favorite least favorite TV judge. Support the pod(if you want!) —> https://tiptopjar.com/judgingjudyAfter years of marriage, Vicky’s sick of Louis and his deadbeat dad, drug-abusing ways. The divorce is already in the works, but she says he owes her big. Louis admits to having had a bad history with drugs, but says he’s clean now and doesn’t owe her a thing. In fact, he says he’s the one who deserves a payday since she’s cutting into his visitation rights. Will Judy agree that he’s a bruiser and a loser? Will Judy think a bad marriage is a good enough reason for Vicky to get paid? Or will the Judy side with Louis and give him a big, fat $4,300 pay check?Judging Judy is the comedy podcast that offers an uncompromising view of American pop cultural icon, Judy Sheindlin. Using cases from her long running daytime TV show as its jumping off point, we examine whether or not Judy truly acted fairly, in her conduct and in her decisions. Given the impact Judy had on our culture and our society, it’s about time she gets the magnifying glass on her! Fans of podcasts like the Doughboys, Cinephobe, Comedy Bang Bang and All Fantasy Everything will fit right in listening to hilarious Judging Judy. You don’t even have to be a fan of the original Judge Judy show: each episode, we do a recap of what was going on in the world when the episode originally aired, then deliver a play-by-play of the case Judy say. This way, everyone’s up to speed when it comes to deciding Judy’s fate. Overrule your objections. Listen to the one-of-a-kind Judging Judy podcast today.
Marnie says her aunt ought to pay — for the kid she never adopted! In a case seemingly pulled straight from the comic books, this is Judging Judy, the only podcast that turns the tables on America’s favorite TV judge. This week’s case comes from back in November 1997. Judy’s wading right into a family disaster: she’ll have to decide whether Marnie will get any cash for not holding up her end of the dealing and adopting her kid. And we will have to decide whether or not Judy did her job: is Judy innocent or guilty? We’re in a true multiverse situation. Marnie says almost ten years ago, her aunt agreed to adopt her kid. But something went wrong and the adoption never happened — and Marnie only found out years later. Now, the state is suing Marnie for back child support. Marnie thinks her aunt ought to pay since all of this would have been avoided if her aunt had followed through and taken in the kid legally. Marnie owes over $4,000; unless, of course, Judy decides that her aunt has to pay instead. Ultimately, we have just as important a task. We have to decide whether Judy provided justice not just to Marnie and her mom, but to the audience at home, to you and to me. At long last, we are the arbiters of Judy’s fate. Judging Judy is a comedy perfect for fans of the Doughboys, Stephen Colbert, Medical Police, David Wain, Josh Gondelman and Cinephobe. With an irreverent angle on America’s favorite TV judge, Judging Judy carefully examines the cases Judy saw in court while also analyzing the Judge herself. For decades, Judy held a revered place in the cultural mind space. But, for so long, Judy was the only judge in town, passing judgement on all of us. No more. Finally, we get to judge Judy. A dynamic, one-of-a-kind popular podcast, Judge Judy challenges you to rethink what you know about that favorite TV judge.
Coming to us from back in 2008, this week on Judging Judy, we’ve got one case that’s all about a drug dealer seeking redemption and one about a man hopelessly, perhaps foolishly, in love. Will Judy side with the friend who tried to bail her meth dealer out of jail? Will Judy reward the guy who just kept giving his girlfriend cars, no matter what she did with them? And, most importantly, will we find Judy innocent or guilty? Because this is the Judging Judy podcast, the comedy podcast that turns the tables on America’s favorite TV judge. Enjoying Judging Judy? Considering support us -----> https://tiptopjar.com/judgingjudyAmy says she paid to get her friend Edward out of jail but that he never paid her back. He says that her help was unsolicited and that she only wanted him out on the streets so that he could keep getting her drugs. Throw in some domestic abuse, a few more arrests and a newborn baby and we’ve got quite the case on our hands. It will be up to Judy to decide whether Amy was doing the right thing and got shafted or if she was only looking out for herself and got exactly what she deserved. First Noah leased his girlfriend a car. When she didn’t pay the bills, they repossessed it. Then he rented her a car; then she wrecked it. Now he wants to be paid back. But she says that they were in a relationship and that she never agreed to pay a cent. Judy’s going to have to decide whether Noah was a fool for ever believing Catherine — especially given her history with not paying her car bills. And, ultimately, we will have to decide whether or not the judge delivered justice. Each week, we take an episode from Judge Judy’s deep archives of classic daytime TV. We do a play-by-play of the cases that came before the judge, and then we take the gavel: we decide if Judge Judy is innocent or guilty. Fans of the Doughboys, Cinephobe, All Fantasy Everything and Stephen Colbert will feel right at home with Judging Judy, the hilarious podcast that challenges America’s least favorite favorite judge. Like no other personality on TV before her, Judy Shendlin encapsulated America: brash, sharp and unforgiving. But while Judy was able to make rulings on Americans for nearly three decades, it’s only now, with the Judging Judy podcast, that we get to examine the Judge with the same kind of rigor. Equally witty, snarky and smart, Judging Judy is unafraid to ask the questions you want answered on one of America’s pop culture icons.
Coming to us from all the way back in 1997, we’ve got two cases involving dads: but only one case involving guns! Will Judy rule in favor of the dad who thinks he has the right to bear arms? Will she side with the dad who had his carpet destroyed by bleach? And, of course, will Judge Judy deliver justice? That last question can only be answered by us because, of course, this is the Judging Judy podcast, the only comedy podcast that turns the tables on America’s least favorite favorite TV judge. Consider supporting Judging Judy -----> https://tiptopjar.com/judgingjudyIn our first case, a suicidal retiree is angry at his son for taking away his guns. Sure, he tried to kill himself four times, and he tried to kill his wife at least once, but he still thinks he’s entitled to his guns! His son claims that he was trying to protect his father and mother, and that if his dad really wants the money, he’ll even buy the guns from his dad. Judy’s going to have to decide if one man’s right to put guns on his wall prevails over his son’s right to not see his dad hurt himself or others. Will she side with father or son? Will she ensure the guy gets his gun back, no matter the consequences? Or will she side with common sense? Our second case is the result of teenaged rough-housing gone wrong. When two neighbors are left alone for a few minutes, all hell breaks loose. A snake becomes a weapon. A slurpee becomes a weapon. Bleach becomes a weapon! Eventually, the carpet is destroyed — and now one of the dad wants the money to get it fixed. It’s going to be up to Judy to see through all the nonsense to figure out who’s responsible for what and who ought to pay. And, more importantly, it will be up to us to decide if Judy is guilty or innocent. Each week, we take a look at cases from the extensive backlog of Judge Judy episodes. We watch the case, yes, but what we’re really doing is watching Judy. Given her pop culture status and social impact for over 25 years, it’s about time we give Judy the same critical eye as she gave people in her courtroom. We’re looking to see if she delivered justice: to the plaintiffs, the defendants, and to you and me at home. If she did, she’s innocent. If not, she’s guilty. A hilarious podcast without equal, Judging Judy is for those nostalgic for times bygone but also aware of how daytime TV judges like Judy shaped our culture. If you’re looking for a comedy podcast in the spirit of Comedy Bang Bang, the Doughboys, Cinephobe and All Fantasy Everything, Judging Judy is perfect for you. If you’ve got a critical side, willing to challenge one of the biggest names in TV, Judging Judy is for you. If you want to listen to the next big podcast before all your friends do, Judging Judy is for you.
Welcome back to 1999 — when beauty was dangerous and dresses were four times more expensive than you expected! And, welcome back to Judging Judy, the ridiculously popular comedy podcast that turns the tables on America’s least favorite TV judge. This week, our first case is about permanent make up gone wrong…or did it? Sonia and her friend allege that these tattoos were supposed to make them beautiful and make their lives easier in the process; except, they say, it was botched. Not only did they suffer through unbearable pain, they also say the permanent cosmetics left them looking less like models and more like clown. David, the salon owner, claims nothing went wrong and that these two are just out to make a buck — and all at his expense. It will be up to connect the dots and decide if the price of beauty was just too much. Then, we move onto a bride who just wanted four bridesmaids dresses without paying a fortune. Unfortunately, the colleague who made them for her says all her work went unpaid: to the tune of $1,600! Maybe it was a misunderstanding. Or maybe one of them is trying to play fast and loose with the truth. Eventually, the bride to be had to find new dresses, and just days before her nuptials. Meanwhile, the dressmaker still hasn’t got her money! Who will Judy believe in this case of deceptive dressmaking? And, of course, what will our ruling be? Will we find Judy innocent, will we think she did her job? Or will her antics be too much, will we find Judy guilty? That’s our duty on Judging Judy: to judge the Judge. For over twenty five years, Judge Judy was an American icon, a stalwart of daytime TV and a media force to be reckoned with. A pop culture diva that transcended class and racial boundaries, Judge Judy was a household name. But for the all judging Judy do of us, we never turned the mirror back on her: until now. Each week, we decide if Judy truly delivered justice not just to the plaintiffs and defendants in her court but also to us, the public at large. Equally comedic and critical, Judging Judy is a nostalgic look back at the Judge Judy phenomena. Along with a play-by-play of the cases that came before Judy in her Hollywood court, we examine what was going on in the world when the episode first aired, and we examine the role the Judge played in the world around her. Fans of the Doughboys, Comedy Bang Bang, Cinephobe and All Fantasy everything will feel right at home with Judging Judy. Whether you’re a 90s Baby, a Baby Boomer or part of the mysterious Generation Z, tune in each week to Judging Judy for a refreshing, challenging and dynamic comedy podcast like no other.
Forbidden love causes two young cousins to come to blows — with each other! This week, we’re looking at a classic case of a bad romance from all the way back on December 19, 2006. When Kalaysha & Robert were told to cool it with their budding affair, things got pretty dicey. There was taunting. There was graffiti. There were threats. And, ultimately, there was a playground beatdown. While weighing the relative dangers of incest and offering up unsolicited and misguided parenting advice, it’s up to Judy to decide whether Robert’s mom has to pay Kalaysha’s medical bills. And it’s up to us to decide whether Judy is innocent or guilty. Because this, of course, is the hilarious Judging Judy podcast, the only comedy podcast that turns the tables on America’s most storied institution, the one, the only, Judge Judy. For over 25 years, Judy passed judgement over the daytime TV airwaves. However, while she was able to dish out her opinions for decades, no one was prepared to judge the Judge. Well, now, that’s our duty. Each week, we do a dynamic, nostalgic-filled and unpredictable play-by-play of an episode from the archives of the world’s most popular and potent TV judge. However, what we’re interested in is not just the case itself but also the actions of the judge. Did she deliver justice? Did she behave herself? Did she act fairly? That’s for us to decide. Perfect for fans of Doughboys, Cinephobe, All Fantasy Everything, and Comedy Bang Bang, Judging Judy is a unique comedy podcast, combining laser sharp wit, social commentary and pop-culture nostalgia. Challenging an American icon, Judging Judy reexamines the phenomenon of Judge Judy: the society that created her and the society she impacted. Getting beneath the service of the episodes, Judging Judy offers a look back at the way the world was while commenting on the way the world is today. Fans are guaranteed a thoughtful, uproarious adventure each week by listening to Judging Judy.
We return this week to a time when Independence Day was the biggest movie and Jewel’s music was new: that’s right, it’s 1996 on Judging Judy, the only podcast that turns the tables on America’s least favorite favorite TV judge. Our first case has an old crotchety TV repairman going to battle with two longtime customers of his, but not about a TV: they’re fighting about a car! He convinced them to sell it to them, only to try to back out of the deal after his wife told him it was a piece of junk. Now they won’t give him his money back and he’s real mad! Judy will have to decide he if deserves the $4,200 or if this is one mess that won’t be fixed. In our second case, two conniving teenagers abuse the trust of an older friend by spending over $2,300 on a calling card she let them use. If that isn’t a jolt of nostalgia, I don’t know what is! They claim she never set any limits on how many calls they could make and they tried to set up a payback schedule, but she wasn’t interested in piecemeal payments. She says she only did it because she felt bad for them, but will Judy feel bad for her? Or will Judy decide that she ought to have known better than to let these two known long-distance miscreants get anywhere near her phone bill? Those, of course, are all interesting question, but the most interesting question we answer each week is, Did Judy do her job? If she did, she’s innocent. If not, she’s guilty! We take our duty to Judge Judy pretty seriously. Judging Judy is a popular comedy podcast dedicated to reexamining the famous TV judge by taking her episodes and turning them upside down. Yes, we review the cases with a detailed play-by-play, but then we judge the Judge herself. Did she provide justice? Was she fair? Though Judging Judy is hilarious and full of laughs, it’s also interested in a careful, thoughtful reconsideration of the cultural impact Judge Judy had and the role she had in our public discourse. In the spirit of other fan-favorite podcasts like the Doughboys, Cinephobe, Comedy Bang Bang and All Fantasy Everything, Judging Judy is a nostalgic, spirited and one-of-a-kind pop culture infused look at society yesterday, society today and society tomorrow. With a new episode every week and decades of Judge Judy to pull out of the archives, Judging Judy promises to bring you something you’ve never heard before.
It’s a trip back in time to 1997 this week on Judging Judy, as we get two cases all about stuff: furniture, CDs, mugs and steak knives. Add in a purported love triangle, drug abuse, theft and a friendship of sixteen years damaged because of loud music, and it’s like a nostalgic journey to the K-Marts of yesteryear! Of course, this is Judging Judy, the top comedy podcast that turns the tables on America’s least favorite TV judge. In our first case, a brief fling led to the plaintiff buying furniture for a new apartment with her new beau. However, not long after moving in, and finding out she was pregnant, she decided they weren’t a good match and moved back out. However, he decided to sell the furniture she, and her old boyfriend who is now also her new boyfriend, paid for. Did I mention that the apartment the two were set to live in was actually just grandma’s house? AND did I mention that he wasn’t even paying rent? Judy will have to decide if she deserves to be paid back for the furniture he got the money for. Our second case is about two former childhood friends who came to literal blows after the defendant says the plaintiff overstayed her welcome. Who among us hasn’t had a guest who just didn’t know when to leave? The defendant claims the plaintiff was a loud music playing, steak knife stealing, disrespecting scammer. The plaintiff claims she only stole a couple of things and the defendants damaged her property. Judy will have to decide who’s being honest and who did the damage. And we, of course, will have to decide if Judy delivered justice, because this is the podcast that examines the lady behind the gavel, Judge Judy. Each week, we take an episode from Judy’s long and storied archives, do a play by play of the cases, and then, ultimately, decide whether Judy acted fairly. We care about the decisions themselves, sure, but we’re just as interested in what Judy said, what Judy did and how Judy behaved. For decades, Judy was a social and cultural icon; but, for the first time, we truly examine how she conducted herself. Fans of Stephen Colbert, plus podcasts like the Doughboys, Comedy Bang Bang, Judge John Hoffman and All Fantasy Everything will be right at home listening to popular podcast Judging Judy, given it’s sharp social commentary, witty repartee and keen self-awareness. Judging Judy captures the nostalgic of the time when the episode’s aired while also carefully examining the realities of Judy Shendlin herself. Never taking itself too seriously, Judging Judy is still interested in understanding Judy, the people who watched her show, the people who appeared on her show, and what it all means today. Listen to Judging Judy for a laugh. Or two.
He went from renting a guesthouse from her, to buying her car, to administering her wedding vows— but now he says she owes him thousands of dollars. Her story is a little different: according to her, he’s a fraud who not only didn’t pay his rent but also ruined her wedding. She’s asking for money of her own, but it will be up to Judge Judy to decide who’s right, who’s wrong and who will get paid.Of course, more importantly, it will be up to us to decide if Judy is right. This week on Judge Judy, it’s all about bad babysitters, and the moms who refuse to pay them!We go all the way back to Christmas Eve, 1996 and we’ve got two cases, each with a babysitter that’s definitely going on the naughty list.Roxanne, a cheerleader mom maniac, says her friend Jackie didn’t pay. Jackie says not only did she pay, but that Roxanne was a danger to her kids. Based on Roxanne’s behavior alone, I might agree, but it’s up to Judy to decide if Roxanne is still going to get paid.In Case 2, Pamela says she went unpaid after quitting babysitting for Maleka because Kyle was too much to handle. Maleka says Pamela walked off the job and neglected her kid. Will Judy side with the jilted mom or the deadbeat babysitter? And of course, we ourselves get to Judge Judy. This is Judging Judy, the one-of-kind comedy podcast that turns the tables on America’s favorite TV judge. Each week, we explore an episode from the Judge Judy archives. After a quick reminder of what was going on in the world when the episode first aired, we jump right into the cases that came before Judy that day with a play-by-play of what the plaintiffs claim, what the defendant says really answered, and all of Judy’s antics in-between. Finally, we ask the important question: was Judy innocent or guilty? Did she do her job? Did she deliver justice?Judging Judy is perfect for fans of podcasts like Doughboys, Cinephobe and Comedy Bang Bang. By offering an introspective look at one of America’s most storied TV icons, Judging Judy isn’t just a comedy podcast, it’s an examination of our shared culture. We judged these people when they were on TV; now we get to rediscover how we judged them and we get to judge the judge, in turn.Nostalgic, biting, witty, sarcastic and light-hearted all in one, Judging Judy is the podcast that takes seriously its duty to judge Judge Judy.
Get your gavels ready, we’re taking a trip back to 2017! Today we’ve got a custody case: both for a kid and for a car! Plus, we’ve got a case about a house painter who barely painted a house, and barely got paid for it, too!You know the drill. This is Judging Judy, the world’s top Judging Judy comedy podcast. Perfect for fans of the original TV show and those who have never seen laid eyes upon Judy Shendlin, Judging Judy is a hilarious watch-along podcast in the spirit of Doughboys, Cinephobe, Comedy Bang Bang and other storied podcasts. But unlike those other guys, this pod is dedicated not to food or movies or characters. Our only focus is on America’s favorite least favorite TV Judge. After all, it’s our duty to Judge Judy. And we take it very seriously. After a must-listen recap of what was going on in the world back when this episode aired in 2017(think unaffordable health care, Scandinavian wolves, and Niall Horan), a quiz on what the weather was like in a certain secret city, and a look at the box office(a little movie by Ken Marino gets the spotlight), we hop into the cases. Our first case concerns two young parents from Georgia and Florida who, ostensibly, are squabbling over repairs made to a car. However, Judy quickly discerns that the car isn’t half as important as the kid these two have together. While the mom technically has custody, the dad is trying to involve himself in his child’s life, even though he doesn’t have the DNA test to prove the kid is even his! Judy has to cut through the noise to try to discern what’s best for the mom, the dad, the kid and the car. In our second case, everyone’s least favorite person, a Contractor, stiffed a homeowner after they agreed on a price for painting her house. No surprise, after he slowly started doing the job, he decided to jack up the price. Judy has to try to make sense of what, if anything, the homeowner is owed based on what she already paid and what she eventually had to pay to get somebody else to do the job the Contractor didn’t do. Once we wrap up with the cases, the real fun begins, because then it’s my turn to Judge Judy. Based on an entirely arbitrary set of criteria(in the vein of Whose Line Is It Anyway?), I take what Judy did, what she said, and how she acted and I determine if she did her job or not. If she did, she’s innocent. If not, she’s guilty. We try to keep it light. We try to keep it simple. We try to keep it fun. But that doesn’t mean we don’t take our job seriously!Despite being a popular comedy podcast, Judge Judy also offers a piercing view of America, its villains and its heroes. After all, Judy was on TV for over 25 years and had strong public mindshare and an indelible cultural impact. It’s important to take a careful examination into who she was and what she meant to America by way of the cases that came before her. Judging Judy is the one-of-a-kind podcast that guarantees a good, thoughtful and absurd time, every time.
This tow truck driver says he was just trying to do his job when he was brutally karate chopped by a crazed, lawless BMW driver. Now, he wants money for all the harm he says he's sufferedBut was he really as down on his luck as he claims, or was he a lying, conniving cheat looking to make a buck? And why was a documentarian filming the whole thing? For all we know, the BMW driver was set up! It’ll be up to Judge Judy to decide who the real victim is — but it will be up to us decide if Judy is guilty or innocent! Plus, we’ve got a case of a man who just wants his best friend back from his ex-wife. Of course, his best friend is a dog, but still; the guy just wants to hang out with his dog. However, since she’s remarried, she doesn’t want to see her old flame around anymore, even if it means he loses a best friend in the process. Who gets the dog? Only Judy can decide. But it’s up to us to decide if she made the right choice. Because, of course, this is the Judging Judy podcast, the only comedy podcast that turns the tables on America’s least favorite TV judge. Each week, we examine an episode from the storied TV judge’s career. First, we get a recap of what was going on in the world when the episode first aired. Then, we do a play-by-play of the episode, so you can experience it just like you would’ve had you watched it yourself. Finally, we make a judgement call: did Judy do her job? Did she deliver justice? If so, she’s innocent. But, if not, she’s guilty. Judging Judy is a comedy podcast perfect for fans of Doughboys, All Fantasy Everything, Cinephobe and Comedy Bang Bang. While offering a sarcastic, tongue in cheek examination of daytime TV, Judging Judy is also a careful look into the society that created Judge Judy and the society she impacted. Sex, Drugs & Domestic Abuse We blast back to the wild 90s in sun-drenched California this week with two total surfer types who might also be drug addicts! But, don’t worry, it’s only weed! Maybe! The defendant this week spends his last day before he reports to jail on Judge Judy, battling against his ex. He admits he beat her up, but denies he ruined her stuff. She says he was abusive not just to her, but her couch and clothes, too. It’ll be up to Judge Judy to decide who’s lying and who’s telling the truth — and who gets paid.At the same time, it’ll be up to us to decide if Judy is innocent or guilty because, of course, this is Judging Judy, the only comedy podcast that turns the tables on America’s favorite TV judge. If Judy did her job, she’s innocent. If she did not, she’s guilty.Fans of podcasts like the Doughboys, Cinephobe, Comedy Bang Bang and All Fantasy Everything will be right at home with Judging Judy. It’s rapid pace comedy paired with social commentary based on the cultural icon, Judy Shendlin. We start with a quick recap of what was going on in the world back when the episode originally aired in 1996: think baseball, the children’s show Arthur and Australian rules football. Then we take a detour to the front page of a newspaper before delving into what was ruling the box office on that day(hint: it starred Will Smith and was about blowing stuff up). Then, we do a play-by-play of the case. It’s a complicated story and a sad situation for everyone involved; it’s up to Judy to comb through the accusations both the plaintiff and the defendant offer up. Suffice to say, she’s not too happy that the couple’s kids were involved in this nonsense. She’s also not too happy about the drug use. After all that, it’s our turn to do a little judging. If Judy did her job, if she acted justly, she’s innocent. However, if not, she’s guilty. Those are the rules!Judging Judy isn’t just a comedy: it’s also an exploration of the time and place that Judy occupied during her 25+ years on TV. Her show was a reflection of our society, its people, its mores and its systems of judgement. Judging Judy, while going for laughs, carefully examines and critiques the institution that Judge Judy was and the impact it had on all of us. Listen to Judging Judy, the comedy podcast all other comedy podcasts will be measured against!
