Description

Have you ever wondered if work-life balance actually exists? As a real estate mom, we work in one of the most unpredictable, high-stress industries — all while carrying the invisible load of caring for our children and managing our homes.

The truth is that we want to do both work and home well, so we look to coaching programs and gurus for advice, but many of them aren’t created with moms in mind. We’re told to hustle, so we do — and often, we burn out trying to keep up with it all. Sometimes we imagine: I could be so much more successful if only I had more time.

I’m Shelley — wife, mom of four girls, and a real estate agent for over 15 years. I’ve been through the endless cycle of hustle, burnout, and recovery. It led me to ditch the coaches and influencers who only push hustle culture, dive into what’s truly important, and redefine what success means for me.

From that journey, The Real Estate Mom Revival podcast was born. Here, we trade hustle for purpose, learn how to build a business and home that are truly life-giving, and use simplified systems that help your business grow in a way that’s authentic to YOU.

If you’re exhausted from juggling real estate and motherhood, take heart. Revival begins when the path feels hardest — and you’re in the right place.  Welcome to the Real estate mom revival.

If you’ve ever felt frustrated trying to follow traditional real estate advice while raising kids… you’re not imagining it. Let's call out the elephant in the room....Much of the coaching and training in the real estate industry was designed for agents who have someone else managing the home and children. But for real estate moms, life and business are deeply intertwined. In today’s episode, we’re having an honest conversation about the gap in real estate coaching when it comes to motherhood. I share why so many common business strategies don’t work for moms — and introduce a better way to build a business that actually fits your life. You’ll learn how to step back, look at your home and business as one operating system, and start simplifying both using our LIFT framework. Because for moms in real estate, home systems ARE business systems. In This Episode Why traditional real estate coaching often overlooks motherhood The hidden assumptions behind common business advice Why real estate moms need a different strategy for growth How life and home responsibilities constantly impact business productivity The mindset shift that changes how you approach growth as a mom The LIFT framework for building a lighter, more profitable business   Moms in the real estate industry need a business strategy that accounts for real life — kids, home responsibilities, interruptions, and limited work blocks. When you simplify your home, streamline your systems, and focus your growth, you create a business that’s lighter, more profitable, and sustainable for this season of life. What to try after the episode:  Take 10 minutes today and map out your home and business together. Ask yourself: What feels heavy in my home right now? What feels chaotic in my business? What process could I streamline this week? What ONE growth lever should I focus on for the next 90 days? Small adjustments to your operating system can create massive momentum. Work With Shelley If this episode resonated with you and you’re realizing your home and business both feel heavy, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Absolutely. Here are polished Apple Podcast show notes written in your voice — first person, clear, warm, and strong. Episode Title: Showing Up Between Sick Kids & Snow Days Is a Superpower: 5 Ways Real Estate Moms Stay Consistent Show Notes: One of the biggest predictors of long-term success in real estate isn’t talent. It’s consistency. Not just posting on Instagram. Not just showing up when you feel motivated. I’m talking about consistent lead generation. Consistent follow-up. Consistent database nurturing. Consistently staying in the game — even when life is chaotic. And if you’re a real estate mom, you already know… consistency is a ninja-level skill. Between sick kids, snow days, school emails, appointments, laundry, and the invisible mental load of running a home, staying consistent in your business can feel almost impossible. But here’s what I’ve seen over and over again: Consistency often beats talent. Consistency creates momentum. Consistency compounds. And most moms aren’t inconsistent because they’re lazy. They’re inconsistent because they’re overloaded. In today’s episode, I’m breaking down: The 5 biggest reasons real estate moms struggle with consistency Why “busy” doesn’t always mean productive How to stop restarting your momentum over and over Why motivation is not the answer The simple systems that make consistency realistic in this season of life We’ll talk about: Streamlining home life so your business actually has space to breathe Choosing depth over dabbling Protecting income-producing activities Sticking with a strategy long enough to let it compound And what it really looks like to “stay in the game” as a mom Because consistency doesn’t mean perfect. It might look like: Showing up at 70% Taking the low-intensity option Protecting one 30-minute block Doing one needle-moving task and calling it a win That counts. You don’t need to run your business like someone without caregiving responsibilities. You need a strategy that fits your real life. If you’ve been feeling frustrated with yourself for being “inconsistent,” this episode will give you both clarity and relief — plus practical tools you can implement immediately. Before you finish listening, choose ONE needle-moving activity and commit to doing it consistently for the next seven days. Momentum doesn’t come from doing everything. It comes from staying in the game. And you absolutely can build a wildly successful real estate business in this season — without burning yourself out.   Join the Revival Edit:  Join Newsletter! Real estate hustle culture loves to tell us the answer is always more… More calls. More lead sources. More hours. More “massive action.” And of course… 10X your business. But if you’re a real estate mom already juggling clients, kids, schedules, and the mental load of running a home, that advice doesn’t feel motivating—it feels impossible. In today’s episode, I’m breaking down why the 10X mindset is a recipe for burnout for real estate moms, why it assumes unlimited capacity, and what sustainable growth actually looks like in this season of life. In this episode, we'll talk about:  Why the real estate industry glorifies hustle (and why it’s exhausting as a mom) The sales conference moment that made me realize 10X was never designed for mothers The hidden assumption behind “10X your business”: unlimited capacity Why 10X isn’t just “working harder”—it’s building an entirely different business What happens when agents try to build the plane while flying it (and why so many crash and burn) The reframe that changed everything for me: Stop trying to 10X your action… and start 10X-ing your capacity The 4 areas that directly impact your capacity as a real estate mom: mental load home chaos vs. calm predictable weeks + focused work time how many business goals you’re chasing Why sustainable growth comes from momentum—not constant hustle The “snowball effect” of stabilizing one lead source, gaining margin, and stacking wins over time How to grow without sacrificing your family, health, or peace Key Takeaway: You don’t need more hustle. You need a business model that actually fits motherhood. Because the question isn’t how big your goals are… The question is whether your life can support them in this season.   Join the Revival Edit (our weekly newsletter) Want weekly business + home inspiration delivered right to your inbox? If you’re a working mom in real estate, you already know the hardest part of business isn’t getting leads… It’s staying in touch with past clients without feeling awkward, salesy, or like you’re “checking in” for no reason. In today’s episode, I’m breaking down one of the BEST follow up systems we’ve ever created — our monthly newsletter. It’s helped us: Stay top of mind with past clients Reactivate dormant leads Create real conversations (not just “email blasts”) Build a community around our brand Increase repeat + referral business And simplify our entire marketing strategy And the best part? It’s simple, it’s fun, it’s value-packed… and people actually look forward to it. In this episode, you’ll learn: Why newsletters are working better than drip campaigns right now How we structure our 2-page monthly newsletter The exact sections we include every month How we pack in value without writing a long newsletter Why QR codes are a game-changer (and save on printing costs) How we use a giveaway to boost engagement + support local businesses The referral shoutout section that subtly encourages more referrals How this system creates consistent conversations with past clients Why we deleted hundreds of drip emails and replaced them with this Grab the sample newsletter: See what our newsletter actually looks like here Want more simple systems like this? So many real estate moms know how we want to grow — stronger systems, a better brand, more consistency, more fulfillment — but we rarely sit down and map out a clear step-by-step plan to get there. In today’s episode, I’m breaking down the viral TikTok trend of creating a personal curriculum and showing you how to use it as a real estate business growth strategy that actually fits into mom life. Instead of chasing every new idea, you’ll learn how to choose one focused area of growth and create a simple plan to follow through — without burnout. In this episode, we cover: What a “personal curriculum” actually is (and why it works) How real estate moms can use this to create intentional business growth Why “less is more” is the best business plan in this season How to set a specific, measurable growth goal How to break your goal into simple steps (so you don’t spin your wheels) How to choose the right learning resources (without too many voices) How to build in monthly check-ins to track progress and adjust A full example curriculum using the goal of growing on Instagram If you’ve been craving a more peaceful, aligned business strategy — one that still leads to real results — this episode will help you feel back in control of your growth. ✨ Join the Newsletter Want weekly business tips, home inspiration, and a little fun sprinkled in? As real estate moms, we make  countless decisions everyday.  What are the kids wearing, what are we eating, what day should we schedule the dr appointment, what are we giving for valentine's day gifts, and it goes on and on.  I'm breaking down one of my favorite strategies today that has literally helped me remove hundreds of decisions from my plate. This strategy helps me reduce my mental load at home and in business: Decide Once. From kids’ clothes and meal planning to closing gifts and client communication, this episode is packed with practical, real-life examples you can implement immediately to make your home and business feel lighter and more supportive. What You’ll Learn in This Episode What “Decide Once” really means and why it works How decision fatigue contributes to burnout for moms Simple ways to eliminate daily stress in your home How to apply “Decide Once” strategies to your real estate business Why reducing mental load improves presence, patience, and energy How to spot your own “decide once” opportunities starting today Examples We Cover Decide Once at Home: Weekly outfit planning for kids Meal planning for breakfasts, lunches, and dinners Birthday party gifts (no more last-minute Target runs) Holiday teacher and hostess gifts Simplifying socks and laundry systems Creating a functional “mudroom” station — even without a mudroom Grocery list templates Using a perpetual calendar for seasonal household tasks Decide Once in Your Business: Standard referral gifts One signature closing gift for every client Annual marketing planning Pre-recorded transaction update videos for clients Your Takeaway This strategy is about protecting your energy. After listening, take a few minutes to walk around your home (coffee in hand!) and notice where you’re making the same decisions over and over again. Those moments of friction are your biggest opportunities to decide once and create more ease in your daily life. Start with one small change. That’s how momentum — and relief — are built. The Community-Rooted Real Estate Strategy That Actually Feels Good If you’ve ever felt drained by the constant pressure to chase leads, cold-DM strangers, or obsess over your next transaction… this episode is going to feel like a deep exhale. Today, we’re diving into a business approach that’s softer, richer, and far more sustainable: building a community-rooted real estate business. Instead of spreading yourself thin trying to “market to the masses,” you’ll learn how to pour into the people already in your world — your kids’ teachers, your neighbors, the small-business owners you see every week, your friends, your extended family, and the people who make up the heart of your community. When you shift from transaction chasing to relationship nurturing, you become more than a real estate agent… you become your community’s trusted guide, the person people feel proud to send their loved ones to. This is how you build a business that feels meaningful, sustainable, and deeply aligned with your values as a mom.
