In 1975, Mr. Carl Rose was the first person of colour to represent Canada Soccer's National Teams in a competitive match After making his international debut in July, Carl Rose represented Canada at the 1975 Pan American Games in Mexico, featuring in matches against Jamaica and Argentina. A year later, he represented Canada at the Montréal 1976 Olympic Football Tournament and featured against the Soviet Union at Olympic Stadium.
