So, just when thought the muppets had disappeared, they are back. Greg has returned from his South American sojourn ready and raring to go. Join the boys as they discuss what's been happening in the sporting word both home and abroad as we head towards the footy finals.
Our last episode for the year. How time flies! Join us for a quick wrap of the week in sport including a chat about our courageous Socceroos. We also review the year and acknowledge those talented sportspeople who sadly left us in 2022. We even briefly look into our crystal ball and ponder what 2023 might hold.
In a momentous week for football in Australia, the Sporting Muppets review the World Cup in Qatar and celebrate the Socceroos advancing to the Round of 16. We also have a look at the Cricket Test Match in Perth and the Australian Open Golf. Last but certainly not least, we welcome two special guests, Mitch and Macca, who give us an insight into what’s it like to be a long suffering Parramatta Eels fan.
In their 20th episode the two muppets take a look at the biggest sporting event on the planet outside the Olympics - The Football / Soccer World Cup! We look at the groups, chat about the teams (including the Socceroos of course) and explore the history of the tournament. We also review the Rugby League World Cup Final and preview upcoming cricket, rugby and just for Greg, some golf.
After a brief break the two gibbering muppets are back for a review of recent sporting events. Join them as they take a look at the T20 Cricket World Cup and salute the old enemy, preview the Rugby League World Cup Final, lament the woes of our Wallabies and take a look at the current state and future of One Day International cricket.
This week the muppets have a look at some of sports longest ‘dry spells’ finding some teams with literally a lifetime between championships. They also discuss the changes announced this week in betting company advertising and conduct their usual review of the week in sport.
As some genuine spring weather hits down under the sporting caravan rolls on with a shaky start in the T20 Cricket World Cup for the Aussies in Sydney and a sub-continent teams classic at the MCG. Join the sporting muppets as they review the above and other news across the sporting world and dip their toes into the rich mosaic of sporting songs.
Join the two muppets as they discover that what seems on the surface a quiet sporting week actually has a fair bit going on. The Rugby League World Cup kicks off with a few upsets and a ground breaking referee appointment, two former cricket powerhouses struggle as they attempt to qualify for the Super 12 stage of the T20 Cricket World Cup and a wildcard team is possibly on the way to the baseball World Series. We also take a dive into the topical waters of sports sponsorships.
After a short break, The Muppets return to review the huge sporting events over the last fortnight including the AFL & NFL Grand Finals and the Bathurst 1000. In a year with seemingly more World Cups than months, we also review the recent Women’s Basketball World Cup and preview both the T20 Cricket and Rugby League World Cups.
That one day in September is upon us. Will it be the Cats or the Swans who lift the AFL Cup in 2022? Join Greg and Gray as they preview the AFL Grand Final and discuss the upcoming NRL preliminary finals.
The football finals have heated up right up as the Roosters and Rabbitohs try to knock each other out literally. Join Greg and Gray as they discuss all the NRL and AFL finals as well as some tennis, basketball and cricket chat. In addition, the muppets start to reminisce about some classic sporting finals.
The business end of the Aussie football season has arrived! Join Greg and Gray as they review and preview finals in both the AFL and NRL. Throw in some Grand Slam tennis, soccer, NFL and cricket and we just about have things covered in the world of sport. We also take an interesting dive into the grey waters that can occur when sporting greatness and flawed character intersect within the same human being.
This week sees the AFL finals finally kick off along with an intriguing final round of the NRL. Queens, New York becomes the focus of the tennis world as the US Open commences and the topic of concussions in the contact football codes is the subject of a deep dive.
