On this episode of Baseball Recruiting Confidential, host Justin Musil is joined by Missouri State head baseball coach Joey Hawkins. A former Bears shortstop and team captain who was drafted by the Cardinals and played through Double-A, Hawkins returned to his alma mater as hitting coach and recruiting coordinator before being named Missouri State's head coach in 2024 — leading the program to a share of the Missouri Valley Conference regular season title in his first year at the helm. Justin and Coach Hawkins dig into what he looks for when evaluating recruits, how his own path from player to program leader shapes his approach to development, and what high school and juco players can do to stand out to a coaching staff like his.
