A podcast for geniuses about the four pillars of modern misery: anime, gaming, posting, & jobs. Starring Tom & Joe. New episodes every Wednesday.
253 Episodes

I never thought it would happen again: it's a posting episode. The Sickos go nuts over an instant classic thread about a bus driver gone rogue, share the best Steam update of all time (and possibly a reverse wife post?), discover "the Epstein Files of your generation," and learn about the Leviathan, a type of MALE creature that some allege can kick Godzilla's ass. It was not easy to find enough posts that actually are fun to read, but we did it! Thanks to Jacob Dallas for playing James Cameron in the cold open sketch!
245: You Live Here Too

245: You Live Here Too

2026-02-1859:21

For a while we have struggled to come up with anything to add about All The Horrors: after all, you live here too! That's when it hit us: that's the point. You live here too! We dive into this deep truth, how it exposes the evil in the hearts of ICE, the foolishness of awful elected Dems, and the beautiful solidarity among those attacked by the fascists. You live here too!!
Jacob Dallas of Worker's Lit goes guesto mode! We discuss his new fantasy novel, They Called Her Rebel, the canon length of orc arms (long), how gaming influences the writing process, and why it kicks ass when books have a funny map in the front. Check it out!  Find They Called Her Rebel here: https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/They-Called-Her-Rebel/Jacob-Dallas-Main/9781803419480 Check out Worker's Lit here: https://www.workerslit.com/
Aaron and Vince from Kame House Party join the Sickos to talk about Dragonball Daima, a new Dragonball anime we somehow barely heard about. Turns out it's great! A little cartoon devil from Halloween turns all the Dragonball characters into muppet babies so they can sell more anime figures. There's a hollow earth where robot bugs make you do puzzles. It's great.
The Sickos go absolutely nuts over our favorite guy Tim Robinson and his unbelievable new comedy/thriller show The Chair Company. To watch this show is like watching a master martial artist transcend his physical limits and learn how to shoot energy beams. Students of comedy must understand what he is doing here...this is an all-time talent at work
Uh oh! Computer parts cost a million dollars now and Crucial is just straight up not making products for consumers anymore! Of course we all know the world is pivoting away from live humans/having a society and toward a centralized class of immortal Wealth-Lords, but now it's actually hitting us where it hurts. Plus, Tom goes nuts about how he set up a household media server (and you can, too!)
For too long the noble podcaster, the last moral profession left on earth, has been subject to countless indignities and hateful vexations. Tom and guest co-Sicko Riley Hopkins thus present The Podcaster's Bill of Rights, a list of 19 inalienable rights that restores dignity and respect to the honorable "podcaster." This shit is the law now. The Second Amendment is we get to have a gun
It's complete condiment chaos as Colin Padgett Arnold joins Tom for CONDIMENT KIDS 2, the long-awaited sequel to the smash hit podcast pilot CONDIMENT KIDS, originally released as the 100th episode of The Podcast Mines. We are back to taste six award-winning gourmet mustards and four mysterious wild-card condiments. Get ready to hear a lot of slurping and chewing right into the mic baby!!  Check out the first Condiment Kids here: https://the-podcast-mines.pinecast.co/episode/ef36af24/episode-100-condiment-kids-starring-colin-padgett-arnold-and-tom-harrison- Mustards tasted include: Delicae Gourmet Lavender Wine Mustard  Pommery Moutarde de Meaux Shemp's Old Fashion Beer Mustard Honeycup Uniquely Sharp Mustard Raye's Down East Schooner Mustard Haus Barhyte Spicy Red Jalapeño Mustard You can purchase these mustards here: https://mustardmuseum.com/collections/gift-boxes/products/award-winners-gift-box
UNLOCKED FOR NON-PATRONS: We get lost and die in the pitiless troll-infested woods of ancient Norway as we discuss the black metal classic Bergtatt: Et Eeventyr I 5 Capitler by Ulver. This band was a group of fuckin teens trying to recreate the otherworldly, ice-cold brutality of their country's folk traditions and somehow they kinda got there. Tom is famously a metal disliker, but Josh's passion for the stuff paired with his endless metal fun facts made this a worthwhile listen! Check it out!
The Sickos have always been trendsetters, and as more and more people follow their lead into the ever-fashionable "unemployment," we share our tips for cooking yummy meals that kick ass on a tight budget. Plus, Joe shares an in-depth "Joe Update" on his physical and mental health, and we yap about games we're playing (He is Coming and Hades 2). Also there's a sketch.
It's been four years since the Sickos covered One Piece, and a lot has happened since then. Tom and Guest co-Sicko Marquez are current on One Piece and ready to yap about all the latest developments in this incredible comic book. A lot of it stupid. A lot of it is goofy. But mostly? It kick ass and make us cry. We know this may hold little appeal to non-One Piece fans, but for the fellow freaks this episode is a rip-roarin delight
Ed Zitron, the guy on the internet who is always saying that this AI shit is a stupid grift that makes no financial sense, goes guesto mode. Turns out this AI shit is a stupid grift that makes no financial sense! Plus, we talk about the fraught psychosexual politics of a world made up of living cars, and gasp over Ed's very passionate opinions about Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. It was a blast yapping with Ed, check it out!
Tom and guest co-Sicko MinovskyArticle sing the praises of the incredible 2010 anime The Tatami Galaxy. If you watch one anime in your life, I recommend this one. This is an anime that feels like a novel, that revels in the richness of language, that understands the abyss of anxiety, and that will make you a genius to watch. This is the kind of show that tricks you into thinking anime is good
These days everyone has a hot take about Hollow Knight: Silksong. Folks get heated and tilted and let their feelings cloud their judgment. The world calls out for the Sickos to put the discourse to an end by doing the perfect, fully objective review of the game via the ultimate game design analysis technique: ranking mechanics on a tier list.
233: Anime Health Nuts

233: Anime Health Nuts

2025-09-2401:12:13

Tom and guest co-Sicko KC Green are tired of being "sickos" and wish instead to develop positive habits. Thus begins "Anime Health Nuts," the new long-term plan for the show and not just a bit we are doing for this episode only. We talk about doing little tasks, watching the incredible skateboarding obstacle course show KASSO, drinking little bottles of Fireball, and more. Check it out!!
Tom joins Casey Toney and Mike Migdall from GUTTER to experience a new dimension in stupid bullshit your chair can do at the movie theater: "4DX," an insane gimmick in which your seat violently jostles you and sprays water in your face. It is so, so stupid and distracting and is also the single best time you can have in a movie theater. Hear Casey and Mike on GUTTER: https://www.gutter.show/
231: The Walk Hard Episode

231: The Walk Hard Episode

2025-09-0301:46:57

At the behest of guest co-Sicko Jeff Stormer, Tom finally watches the classic comedy Walk Hard. Turns out, this shit is incredibly good. Join us as we go nuts about all the gags and become baffled that the upcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic appears to be doing all the Walk Hard jokes again but this time not supposed to be funny. Find Jeff's excellent Party of One Podcast here: https://www.partyofonepodcast.com/
230: Anime 102

230: Anime 102

2025-08-2002:20:15

Nani? The Sickos are talking about anime? Masaka! But I assure you: it's true! Quinn Welsh-Wilson joins as co-Sicko to get Tom back up to speed, discussing Twelve Kingdoms, Apothecary Diaries, Shangri-La Frontier, Log Horizon, Lazarus, and the first new anime Tom has watched in ages, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. Turns out anime is the same as ever: it fucking sucks but also is so good. Confounding stuff.
The Sickos are tea sandwich guys now. We made, ate, and reviewed 11 insane sandwiches with such inexplicable ingredients as "onion, mayo, and parsley," "radish, butter, and parsley," and "salami, mayo, and grapefruit." It sounds like these would suck ass but tea sandwiches are bugged and somehow roll back around to being great. Listen to our sicko sandwich journey. Featuring Sicko homie Dylan filling in as the second Sicko See all eleven sandwiches and watch us try a particularly deranged one in this "teaser video" https://youtu.be/9kgQ7Fo07TQ
Patrick Cosmos goes guesto mode! We discuss his new album Future National Sports, how weird it is to self-promote independent art in hell times, the idiotic appeal of being a vinyl guy, and what it's like to constantly have to go to physical therapy all the time. Also, Joe's here for this one. I know we said he was going to take a break. He is. He just took a break from the break. Get Patrick's music at veryimportant.lawyer
