Welcome to my new show, Redneck Woke, a docuseries and podcast where I have conversations with fellow rural and southern folk with the intention of shifting perspectives and movin’ the proverbial needle just a lil’ bit closer to justice for working class people and the environment. For this first episode I traveled out to South Louisiana to meet up with Franziska Trautmann, Co-Founder and CEO of Glass Half Full. We covered the origin story of Glass Half Full and how the facility processes the glass it brings in, how our Southern culture's have impacted how we navigate issues within our respective communities, and how sand from the facility is being used for ecosystem restoration to help address the coastal erosion crisis in Louisiana.
