In this episode, we talk about our summer motorcycle ride around Canada.  On this trip we will meetup and ride with some of the beloved Patrons of Law Abiding Biker.  It will be an epic journey!  Almost 5,000 miles covering British Columbia, the Yukon Territory, and Alberta.  We're even going to pop into Hyder, Alaska.  As part of the ride, we will be logging miles and checking in at Harley-Davidson dealer ships to collect engagements and key words for the Let's Ride Challenge Ride for Heroes. In May of 2023, members of Law Abiding Biker™ Media along with members of the Sworn Few LEMC embarked on a 10-day, 4000-mile, 5-state cross-country motorcycle trip. This trip would take us out of Washington State and into Oregon, California, Arizona, and Nevada. We stayed over in cities such as Redding, California, Furnace Creek, California, Huntington Beach, California,  Las Vegas, Nevada, Reno, Nevada, and Bend, Oregon. We experienced good and bad weather and a few of the bikes experienced some mechanical problems that had to be fixed. Official Website: www.lawabidingbiker.com I saw that Indian came out with the 2023 Sport Chief and I said to myself, "Hey, Indian made a Harley Low Rider S".  Well, it's clearly their answer to compete with Harley in that category of bike anyways.  I had to take a deep look at this bike and break it down for you and give you my thoughts.  How does the Indian Sport Chief match up to the Harley Low Rider S? I really needed to know. I've seen some trying to compare the Sport Chief to the Harley Low Rider ST and I wholeheartedly disagree. I test-rode and reviewed the Low Rider ST last year in Santa Barbara, CA and it's more in the category of sport touring. It has a very large fairing and windshield, an available dash stereo system with speakers, and hard saddlebags. The Sport Chief is more in the category of a sport cruiser with a very small fairing and windshield, no in-dash stereo system or speakers, and no hard saddlebags, just like the Lowrider S. Honestly, those sorts of attitudes just muddy the real conversation and facts.  Understand, that we ride Harleys, Indians, and other metric bikes here on this channel and support all makes and models of motorcycles.  Remember, competition in the motorcycle marketplace is GOOD and benefits all motorcycle enthusiasts. We could really go back and forth on what things the Sport Chief or Low Rider S has that the other doesn't and price out adding a particular item or feature on. But, at the end of the day, we've found that if you make these bikes almost exactly the same with parts and features they are within a couple of hundred dollars of each other. I love my Lowrider S, but I would not think twice about owning the Sport Chief if I had extra money to throw around. I really want to ride this bike and see what it's all about. After riding his Harley with the newly installed Progressive front suspension on a 10-day, 4,000-mile road trip, and on many different road surfaces, he highly recommends this suspension and we decided to carry Progressive Suspension right in the Law Abiding Biker Store.  We also installed the Progressive Suspension 490 Sport Heavy Duty Series Shocks on his 2015 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special.  He also highly recommends these shocks and we decided to carry them right in the Law Abiding Biker Store.   SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE Lurch was not happy with the overall ride of his 2015 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special, which came with the standard front suspension Harley has used for many years now on its touring models, which has no adjustments. Unfortunately, it is what it is.  He wanted a smoother ride, better cornering abilities, and adjustable preload and dampening, all of which the Progressive Suspension Monotube Fork Cartridge Kit has!  He was also not happy with the standard manually adjustable rear shocks that Harley has used for many years now on its touring models.  He wanted a smoother ride, better cornering abilities, and adjustable preload and dampening, all of which the 13" Progressive Suspension 490 Sport Heavy Duty Series Shocks have!  WHY LURCH CHOSE 13" SHOCKS: A Harley Street to Road Glide Special comes stock with 12" shocks and you can certainly maintain the 12" when choosing your Progressive Suspension rear shocks from the Law Abiding Biker Store.  By installing the 13" Progressive Suspension rear shocks, Lurch raised the rear of his Road Glide Special 1" which gives him more of a lean angle. It's definitely noticeable when riding. You really can't visually tell the bike has been raised 1". Note that Harley models like the Ultra Classic come stock with 13" shocks. In this podcast episode, I'm joined by Lurch and Patreon Member (and Indian Motorcycle rider) Anthony Peters.  We talk about the big announcement that Polaris sold off it's majority ownership of Indian Motorcycles.  In one of the biggest shake-ups the motorcycle world has seen in years, Polaris has announced that it's selling a majority stake in Indian Motorcycle to the private equity firm Carolwood LP.  This move has many riders and industry insiders asking the same question — is Indian Motorcycle in trouble, or are they gearing up for something big?  It's a bold, unexpected shift that could either ignite new growth or put the brand in a risky position. Let's take a closer look at what's really happening and why it matters. This trip would take us out of Washington State and into the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta We stayed over in cities such as Williams Lake, Stewart, Watson Lake, Fort St. John, Hinton, Canmore, Revelstoke, and Kelowna.
