In Episode 20 of The Lockout Podcast, the boys break down the most important part of AFL Fantasy team building: foundation picks and smokies. These are the players we are locking into our teams with full conviction, and the sleepers sitting right on the edge as potential Point of Difference selections that could hit, but also could bust! We go position by position through defence, midfield, ruck and forward, discussing why certain premiums and value picks are must haves, how preseason roles a...

We break down the two main strategies, guns & rookies vs mid-price madness, while running through under 400k rookies, value picks in the 400 – 700k range, and overlooked players who could separate you...

The AFL Fantasy 2026 team previews roll on and this episode turns its attention to the Richmond Tigers, a club deep in rebuild mode after a brutal 2025 season but quietly stockpiling young talent for the future. We unpack Richmond’s year, assess the draft haul that’s shaping the next generation of Tigers, and break down what went wrong on field and in Fantasy. From Toby Nankervis once again carrying the load, to Taranto’s disappointing output, to the emergence of value options like Sam Banks,...
We’re nearing the pointy end of our AFL Fantasy team previews and this episode turns the spotlight on North Melbourne, a side that’s quickly becoming one of the most fantasy relevant teams heading into the 2026 season. The Kangaroos showed clear signs of growth in 2025, building around a talented young core and finally starting to translate development into performance. From a fantasy perspective, there’s plenty to like, with multiple players capable of delivering value across different price...
The boys dive into Essendon’s chaotic 2025 season, a year defined by injuries, instability, and an incredible 18 debutantes. With 37 players used across the season, the Bombers were smashed by availability issues, role changes and constant disruption, leaving even their stars scrambling to hold things together. We unpack Essendon’s off-season moves, including the arrival of Braden Fiorini and a draft haul headlined by Dyson Sharp, Sullivan Roby and Jacob Farrow, alongside major outs such as S...
The boys break down Melbourne’s confusing and frustrating 2025 season, a list packed with talent that still couldn’t find consistency. Despite glimpses from the kids and another elite year from Max Gawn, the Demons struggled to support their stars and finished well below expectations. We unpack Melbourne’s list changes, including the arrivals of Jack Steele, CJ, Max Heath and Brody Mihocek, alongside major outs like Clayton Oliver, Christian Petracca, Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings. The pan...
The boys break down Port Adelaide’s turbulent 2025 season, a clear fall from grace marked by injuries, fading veterans, and the end of the Ken Hinkley era. While the Power slid down the ladder, AFL Fantasy coaches still found value, led by Connor Rozee’s role shift and steady scoring across a frustrating year for the Power. We unpack Port’s list overhaul, including key ins like Will Brodie, Corey Durdin and Jacob Wehr, alongside major outs such as Travis Boak, Ryan Burton, Jeremy Finlayson an...
The boys break down St Kilda’s 2025 season, elite AFL Fantasy output, average ladder results. Rowan Marshall dominated, NAS hit another level, and the Saints once again proved to be Fantasy gold. We cover under performers, boom players from 2025, and lock in who we think will breakout, and ou...
The boys turn their attention to the Carlton Blues, a side stuck in AFL limbo after sliding further back into mediocrity, and out of the 8 in 2025. A year after a finals run, the Blues once again leaned heavily on too few stars, with Walsh and Cripps hurting, Cerra carrying load, and George Hewett producing a career Fantasy year. List movement was busy: Carlton added Harry Deane, Campbell Chesser, Ben Ainsworth, Ollie Florent, Will Hayward and ruck depth via Liam Reedy, while losing Tom...
Episode 10 and the Sydney Swans, The boys fly up to Moore Park for our Sydney Swans 2026 breakdown, a side that fell hard off the 2024-25 cliff after getting shell-shocked in the finals. Losing key players for months and struggling to find any forward connection. Gulden and Mills missed huge chunks of the year, the ball movement fell apart, and what should’ve been a finals list sputtered to 10th. We cover their 2025 campaign, Brodie Grundy’s ridiculous Fantasy heater (12 straight tons),...
The boys head to Whitten Oval as we hit the halfway point of the 2026 team previews. The Dogs didn’t make finals in 2025, but they remain one of the most Fantasy friendly sides in the comp, six players averaging 90+ and a stack of mid-price relevance across the board. We break down their 2025 campaign, the impact of injuries to Bont, Treloar & Darcy, the rise of Mr. Utility Matt Kennedy, and why Luke Beveridge continues to drive Fantasy coaches insane. List movement this offseason was lig...
Episode 8 and it’s Hawk time with Hawko!!!! We head to Waverley to break down Hawthorn’s attempt at a rapid fire rebuild, a promising 2025 surge, and yet another finals dagger delivered by Dangerfield’s Cats. Plenty of on field growth, plenty of off field pain, including more big outs, no marquee ins, and a list still working out who leads it into the next era. We unpack Lloyd Meek’s career Fantasy season, strong campaigns from Karl Amon and Jai Newcombe, and a frustrating James Sicily ...

Under Damien Hardwick they stitched together their most complete AFL season yet, powered by a Fantasy friendly midfield unit and a clear identity that finally held up across four quarters. We cover the Suns' 2025 campaign, how Rowell bulldozed his way to a Brownlow, how Anderson became the perfect connector, and how five Suns averaged over 90 to make this side Fantasy relevant across every...
Episode 6 for the 2026 season, and we now turn our attention to the purple haze, the Fremantle Dockers. Another year of talent, promise and frustration for Freo, finishing sixth before bowing out in straight sets to the Suns. A loaded list with height, youth and depth across every line, yet still trapped in the same loop of style, hesitation and missed opportunity. We break down Fremantle’s 2025 campaign, why the system continues to hold them back, and which Dockers carried the Fantasy load...
Episode 5 for the 2026 season is here, and we’re heading out west (kind of) to look at the Greater Western Sydney Giants — the back-to-back fifth-placed specialists as Hawko so eloquently put it. We break down Collingwood’s 2025 season, their finals exit, and how much is left in a veteran-heavy side including the ageless Scott Pendlebury. From Nick Daicos’ continued Fantasy dominance to the surprise rise of Ned Long, we assess who boomed, who disappointed, and where value might lie headi...
We are back for episode 3 for the 2026 season, and we turn our attention to the reigning premiers, the Brisbane Lions. We break down the Lions’ 2025 season, how they overcame adversity, and why their list depth might be the scariest in the league. From Josh Dunkley’s elite Fantasy output to rising star...

The boys are back for more fantasy chat for the upcoming 2026 season! Episode 1 of the 2026 season, and we kick things off with the Adelaide Crows, the 2025 minor premiers who dominated most of the year before collapsing in straight sets. A powerhouse forward line, a stacked midfield rotation, and a rising young core gave Adelaide the look of a genuine flag contender, but structural issues, role changes and fatigue caught up late when it mattered most. We break down the Crows’ 2025 camp...
