Description

S.A.B.R.E.E. is more than a mentoring platform—it is a powerful movement dedicated to helping individuals authentically hold space for themselves by Seizing Abundance Because of Resilience, Empowerment, and Edification. Rooted in the belief that healing and growth begin with self-affirmation, our mission is to uplift historically disadvantaged youth, as well as  survivors of domestic violence who wish to positively change the trajectories of their lives, by guiding them toward lasting change and self-discovery.

In honor of my beloved son, Sabree Marquis Daniel, and his beautiful stepmother, Mrs. Renay Daniel, I have recently published my first inspirational memoir, with proceeds directly supporting S.A.B.R.E.E. Enrichment Academy, Incorporated, my 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Through mentorship, advocacy, and community-driven initiatives, we are committed to creating system-wide change by fostering a nonviolent, democratic, and productive environment—a sanctuary where trauma is met with healing, where challenges are met with empowerment, and where every individual is given the tools to reclaim their future.

In this reflective and deeply personal episode of S.A.B.R.E.E.: A Podcast with Dr. Sonji Fatima Harold, I explore the delicate balance between grace and discernment: how to remain kind, faithful, and grounded in one’s values while also recognizing truth when it reveals itself. Drawing on wisdom often attributed to Michelle Obama and Maya Angelou, I examine the tension between rising above negativity and believing people when they show us who they truly are. Through spiritual insight, li...

WHAT WE KEEP WHEN WE GIVE explores the quiet alchemy of service. How lifting others steadies our own hearts and clarifies purpose. Through stories from mentoring rooms and community circles, the episode shows that generosity is reciprocal: trust comes before tasks, listening before solutions, and co-regulation before instruction. It honors that some lessons are painful, and insists the wiser move is to learn them the first time. Practical moments ground the theme: name a specific need, ask wh...

The words we speak shape the reality we experience. Self-affirmations, when practiced intentionally, have the power to rewire our subconscious beliefs, boost confidence, and set the foundation for personal growth. By repeatedly reinforcing positive statements about ourselves, we challenge limiting thoughts and replace them with empowering truths. Whether spoken aloud, written, or visualized, affirmations create a mental framework that nurtures resilience, self-worth, and the motivation to pur...
Self-affirmation interventions in health contexts are powerful tools that help individuals reinforce their sense of self-worth and reduce defensiveness when confronted with health-related challenges or information. These interventions encourage individuals to focus on their core values, strengths, or meaningful aspects of their identity, fostering a positive mindset that promotes openness to health messaging and behavior change. For example, when individuals engage in self-affirmation exercis...

Human beings are wired for connection, yet we also yearn for independence and self-expression. The paradox of belonging and self-discovery lies in our need to be deeply rooted in community while still growing into our unique potential. A strong sense of belonging provides the foundation for emotional security, support, and identity, helping us feel valued and understood. However, true personal growth requires stepping beyond comfort zones, challenging limitations, and embracing our individual...
Stereotype threat is a silent but powerful force that can undermine confidence, limit potential, and reinforce systemic barriers. When individuals are made aware of negative stereotypes about their identity—whether based on race, gender, socioeconomic status, or other factors—they may unconsciously conform to those expectations, hindering their own performance and self-belief. This phenomenon not only affects academic and professional success but also erodes self-worth over time. However, by ...
Confidence is not something you are born with—it is something you build. At its core, confidence is the result of mindset mastery, a deep belief in your ability to overcome challenges, learn from setbacks, and rise stronger each time. True confidence is not about arrogance or perfection; it is about resilience, self-trust, and the willingness to take action despite fear or doubt. When you cultivate an unbreakable mindset, you develop the ability to navigate uncertainty, silence self-doubt, an...
The words we speak to ourselves shape the way we see the world, our abilities, and our potential. Daily self-affirmations serve as a powerful tool to reprogram the subconscious mind, replacing doubt and fear with confidence and clarity. When you consistently affirm your strengths, aspirations, and worth, you create a mental framework that supports success rather than hinders it. Self-talk is not just about motivation; it is about rewiring limiting beliefs and aligning your mindset with the ac...
