After spending the day volunteering at The Retreat animal sanctuary we took the opportunity to interview the wonderful founder Billy. The Retreat was born in 1989 out of frustration at the way the human race treats animals. Dene Stansall – Dene has spent over 20 years taking on the horse racing industry, and has acted as a true force for change in the lives of so many horses. Too often, horses are killed and injured in the horse racing industry.
