On the latest episode of the Xtreme Lyfe Podcast, Steve Dee and Ray Flores dive into two major topics in combat sports: the upcoming Tyson vs. Paul fight and UFC 309. They first discuss the much-anticipated fight between boxing legend Mike Tyson and social media star-turned-boxer Jake Paul. Steve and Ray analyze the dynamics of the matchup, weighing Tyson's legendary experience and raw power against Paul's unorthodox style and youth. They talk about Tyson's return to the ring after years of retirement, speculating on how he'll adapt to facing someone like Paul, who's known for his surprising knockout ability. Both hosts express mixed feelings about the spectacle of the event, acknowledging its draw for casual fans but questioning whether it undermines the integrity of traditional boxing. Shifting gears, the conversation turns to UFC 309, which is just days away. Ray and Steve break down the main card, previewing key matchups and discussing fighters to watch. They dive into the headline fight, analyzing the strategies and potential outcomes, while also looking at the other exciting bouts on the card. The hosts touch on the rise of new contenders and the importance of this event in shaping the future of the UFC. Throughout the episode, they offer insights from both the fan and professional perspective, making predictions and sharing their excitement for both events. The conversation is lively, with plenty of banter and a deep dive into the world of combat sports.
On this episode of Xtreme Lyfe, Crossfit Games adaptive athlete Amy Bream shares her inspirational story. Below is a little bit about Amy in her own words. I'm a Nike adaptive athlete with a passion for challenging myself with new boundaries and physical limits. I was born with PFFD, meaning I'm missing the majority of my right leg. I've never had an amputation and have used a prosthesis since I was one year old. I never pursued any type of athletics until after I moved to Nashville and started working out at a boxing gym in 2015. Since then, my skill and confidence as an athlete has grown exponentially. I started training and competing in CrossFit in 2021 in the adaptive lower extremity division. Since then I have competed in both the 2021 and 2022 Crossfit Games, WheelWod Games, and have won my division at Wodapalooza in both 2022 and 2023.
