the CAB (Catch And Release) theory suggests that some women end up dating emotionally unavailable men by putting in the emotional work to help them grow or become ready for commitment just for the relationship to end JUST as the man becomes capable of settling down with another woman - who is the first woman to come into his life after his CAB transformation. to double down on this definition , the woman “ catches ” the man during his unready phase and “ releases ” him once he’s evolved which can make it feel unfair or personal - even though the pattern is usually about timing , emotional readiness and relationship dynamics - rather than the woman not being enough.
