On this week's episode of the Date Your Wife podcast, we're talking about sex and how it can be used for all the right reasons, and all the wrong reasons. I was raised in a Mormon culture ( no longer practice inside of this religion ) where there was a lot of guilt and shame around sex, even within the beginning of my marriage, I was guilty of using sex as a bargaining tool. This just left both of us feeling unheard, unseen, and resentful. and ultimately, I felt hostage in my relationship at this time. We also talk about life and business, and sometimes when you hide in the work, you miss opportunities that God can open up for you because you're too busy to see them. Sometimes you're called to create space to see the bigger picture. Tune into the Date Your Wife podcast every Monday where we talk about real-life topics. We've been married for over 20 years and have five children together. We've built multiple eight-figure businesses and we're always looking to learn, grow, and go to the next level. Let's Connect... In this episode, Danielle & Garrett dive into the complexities of relationships and the importance of attention and connection. They discuss the concept of friction in relationships, highlighting how growth and progress can lead to friction, while stagnation can cause it to cease. They explore the need for attention and how it can manifest differently in men and women. The two share personal experiences and insights, discussing the challenges of maintaining intimacy and connection in long-term relationships. They also touch on the topic of open relationships and the potential pitfalls and benefits they may offer. Join them as they navigate the delicate balance between desire, commitment, and fulfillment in relationships. The biggest takeaways from this podcast 👇 1️⃣ Friction is a sign of growth: In a relationship, friction is inevitable. It's like breaking down a muscle to make it stronger. If the relationship is dying, the friction stops. Embrace the challenges and conflicts as opportunities for growth. 2️⃣ Attention and connection are essential: Both partners need attention and connection in a relationship. It's not just about physical intimacy but also about feeling seen and acknowledged. Women, in particular, need to embrace their need for attention and not feel guilty about it. 3️⃣ Communication is key: Open and honest communication is crucial in maintaining a strong relationship. Couples should be willing to have difficult conversations, express their desires, and explore new ways to keep the spark alive. It's about finding what works for both partners and creating a safe space for vulnerability. ____________________ Let's Connect...
