Jim and Rich try to get together and chat about Philip Island and Sepang, but technology let us down. Rich’s internet left the chat leaving Jim to finish the show by himself. The guys did cover some listener feedback and got through the news together. After that Jim covered all the racing action. At PI a second world champion was crowned as Rueda locked up the 25 Moto3 championship. Hometown hero Senna Agius won the Moto2 race and Jack Miller Tried his hardest to be on the podium but crashed out. The teams then moved to Sepang where Alex Marquez secured second place in the world championship marking the first time brothers have finished one two in the history of the top class. The Moto3 race had a crazy crash on the sighting lap that caused the race to be shortened to 10 laps and the Moto2 race was moved to after the MotoGP race. Furusato won his first ever Moto3 race and Jack Dixon won the Moto2 class. And just like that the first World Championship is wrapped up! Marc Marquez clinched his 9th World Championship at the Japanese GP over the weekend. Marc placed second in both the Sprint and the GP to none pother than a resurgent Pecco! The Moto3 race was neutered a little bit by a weird but brief sigh rain that spooked championship leader Rueda early on in the race. This let Munoz to take a commanding lead that he held until the end of the race. Rueda now has a chance to wrap up the tile at the next round. In Moto2 saw an on form Jake Dixion and Gonzalez qualify well. In the Race they both dropped back and rookie Holgado romped to other victory. Gonzalez was fast but too aggressive during a pass attempt on Vietti. Veitti went down and Gonzalez went to the long lap penalty loop. The Catalan Gp is covered on this episode. With usually dull racing Jim and Rich jim and rich focused more on the news of the week. The announcement was that Gunther Steiner of drive to survive F1 fame is now a MotoGP own having bought the Tech3 team. Out on track the Moto3 race only became interesting in the last 5 laps. Jim was happy that for the first time in a long long time the riders kept out of the pit lane exit while riding 5 wide on the front straight. Piqueras took the win but despite a long lap penalty Rueda finished second and still has a commanding lead in the championship. In Moto2 Holgado lead every lap to take his first Moto2 win. The best par of the race was Munoz’s pass of Dixion going into turn one. I was a masterful outside to inside maneuver but sadly Dixion was able to get back by in the late stages of the race. In MotoGP Marquez won, no not Marc, but Alex. Alex was unbeatable by anyone but himself as he crashed out of a comfortable win in the Sprint and handed the win to his brother. On Sunday he was unbeatable taking a commanding win after an early dice with Marc. They are finally back together to discuss everything from the Red Bull Ring! They start taking about their trips and holiday adventures and then start the show off with a bit of listener feedback. Next up was all the news from the summer break. The guys share their thoughts on the attendance at the Red Bull Ring and then on the silly season rider and team swaps. Last news item covered is the 2026 WSBK and MotoGP schedules. The racing was good in the Moto3 class as four riders fought for the lean in the opening laps. This quartet was joined by two more riders to create an exciting ending to the race. Moto was drama filled for Gonzalez. A non-finish decreased his points lead to 19 over title rival Canet. Moreira after another win is in with a shout at the world title as well. The MotoGP class saw a surprise pole sitter in Bezzecchi, while Marc Marquez fell. Have no fear Marc rebounded to win the Sprint on Saturday and the GP on Sunday, but Bezzecchi did make him sort of work for it. The guys get together again to talk about the action from Assen. This year the cathedral celebrated 100 years of racing. The action fast and furious as a number of riders had crashes on Friday. Marc Marquez and Ai Ogura having the biggest ones. The racing action started off with Moto3 and the pack racing was tight and exciting as always. The lunette crash at the chicane saw the Italian struck by Furusato. This brought out a red flag once the leaders had reach the 4th sector. Jim then goes on a rant, arguing that the red flag should have been displayed by at least sector two. The Moto2 race featured Moreira winning the race after stalking Canet the whole way. With this win Moreira becomes the first Brazilian to win a Moto2 race. MotoGp was also a crash filled event. The Sprint went off with out a hitch and saw Marc Marquez make a great start from the second row to win with his brother in second and Bezzecchi a strong third. Sunday Marc had another great start and cruised to victory at the slowest possible speed. Alex and Acosta tangled with Alex suffering a broke hand in the accident and Acosta was accused by Marc of riding too aggressively. Bagnaia set several fastest laps looked good and hopefully the podium will help him to fight at the front for the rest of the year. Apologies for the lateness of this Pod Cast! In this episode Jim and Rich cover everything from Aragon! The kick it off with some great listener feedback about semi-automated ride height devices. Then they go over the news of Martins contract issues and the semi bombshell of Toprak signing a one year deal to race a Pramac Yamaha in 2026. Finally they guys cover the racing. The Moto3 Class was a classic with the twist of making sure you picked the right tire. This odd set of conditions resulted in a first time winner Munoz who just barely defeated the new rookie sensation Quiles! The Moto2 race was the best of the weekend and also included a first time winner. Moreira rode through the pack and chased down race leader Oncu in the closing laps. Oncu never quit and kept pushing. On the last lap at the last turn Oncu rode around the outside of Moreira to win the closest Moto2 race ever by 0.003 seconds!! MotoGp was a bit boring as Marc Marquez lead every secession ook pole position and won then sprint and on Sunday lead every lap in dominate fashion to win the main event. Domination like this has not been seen in this class since Marc himself did the same thing a decade ago at the German GP in 2015. This is the domination that we all feared when Marc was chosen to ride the factory Ducati. On the bright side Pecco appears to have found the feeling again on his Ducati and may yet be able to challenge Marc. Stay tuned! Jim and Rich dive into the crazy, complicated and confusing Grand Prix from Le Mans. The Moto3 boys kicked off the action on damp but drying tack on Sunday morning. The race was calm by the normal Moto3 standards, but the last lap more than made up for the lack of action. Kelso was looking for his first ever Moto3 win and was leading Munoz and Rueda. In the second to last turn Munoz dive bombed Kelso which caused both to go off track. This allowed Rueda to pass both of them and take a surprise victory. The Moto2 riders were forced to watch the back of Gonzalez for the whole race as he dominated. MotoGP was where all the action and surprises were. Quartararo shocked with pole position or Marc Marquez.. In the Sprint Marc used a smooth and patient approach to take the win over his brother and rookie sensation Aldeguer. On Sunday the weather played havoc with everyone as new rules caused chaos. Picking the right tire was critical as some riders went from slicks to wets to slicks and back to wets. However the man who made all the right calls was Zarco. He became the first Frenchmen to win the French Grand Prix in 71 years. im and Rich dive into the Qatar Grand Prix in this episode. They guys cover all of the great racing action as all three races plus the sprint with action packed and full of drama. The Moto3 boys started off the evening with a great race that came down to a last lap, last corner dash to the line. By luck or great race strategy Piqueras won his second race of the year will Rueda had a mechanical failure and did not earn any points. Next up the Moto2 Crew had a good as as championship leader Jake Dixon crashed out and slow starting front row man Canet went from 3rd on the grid to 14th and then chased down the leaders to win his first race of the year and take the lead in the championship. Lastly the MotoGP grid bolstered by the return of Martin had their best races of the season. Marc Marquez won the sprint while Bagnaia finished 8th. The race Sunday night was action filled as the Marquez brother tangled at the first turn. Surprisingly Vinales raced to the front on his KTM only to run wide and let Marc take the victory. Bagnaia finished third but was promoted to 2nd after Vinales was penalized for low tire pressure. Morbidelli was third. The result may have been the same as last race when Marc battled his brother for the win, but how we got there this time is completely different. Jim and Rich cover the final race of the final triple header on this years calendar. They kick the show off with a great email from loyal listener Alan, which allows Jim rant on about techno-geeky thing like ride height devices and aerodynamics. We also learned that Barcelona will be the host for the last round of this years championship due to the extreme flooding in Spain. Later the guys chat about the action from Malaysia. In Moto3 David Alonso just keeps on wining and then shows his human side by donating his winnings to help the disaster relief efforts in Valencia. In Moto2 the walking wounded Veitti (cracked shoulder bone) runs off with the victory was poor old Jake Dixon looses a podium because his lap counter was wrong! Finally the discussion turn to MotoGP where Bagnaia crashed in the sprint and handed Martin a victory. The main event on Sunday was a titanic struggle between the two rivals but it only lasted 5 laps. Martin decided the risk was to great and hw rode home in second behind Bagnaia. Martin now only has to win the sprint on Saturday to clinch the championship. Jim and Rich talk about the three great races from “The Island”. In the Moto3 class newly crowned world champion Alonso showed why he is the champ by out smarting everyone by using the hard rear tire option. He forced the competition to use up their soft tires trying to keep up with him. Alonso is on another level right now and he is playing chess while the others are playing checkers. In the Moto2 class it was a great race between Canet and Aldegeur. It was good hard racing with Aldeguer taking the victory. Senna Agius the hometown hero rode through the pack to be in court place and was chasing Lopez for the last spot on the podium. Lopez crashed out thus ensuring Agius’s first podium finish! In MotoGP the usual suspects were in the fight for the sprint win, which went to Martin. Marquez who had a poor start road to a second place finish and Bastianini was the last man on the podium. The major story was the crash of Bezzecchi and Vinales on the entry to turn one. Both riders were ok after the crash which was specular but scary to watch at the same time. In the Sunday race Marquez looked like a drag bike with major tire smoke on the start. Believe it or not Marquez caused the problem by letting his tear off fall under the rear wheel of his own bike! Marquez was the fastest rider breaking the race lap record, while chasing down Martin for the victory. Martin now has a 20 point lead as the series moves to Thailand. Jim and Rich discuss all the action from Motegi. The first World Championship had been handed out to David Alonso! The Moto3 champ won this title in style by winning in true Alonso style. He was as far back as ninth in this race but road through the pack late in the race to win by half a second. The Moto2 race provided all the drama this weekend as a rain shower just after the start caused a red flag. It was anybodies guess on wether to use rains or slicks, but championship leader Ogura with he courage of his convictions went on slicks. He quickly fell back to 14th but the as he put heat into his slicks they came good and he powered through the field to lead. In fact six riders started on slicks and all would finish in the top six! Ogura riding smart let Gonzales take the win. Ogura now leads Garcia by sixty points. MotGp was a mixed bag as Marc was denied pole because of track limits and this promoted Acosta to his first pole position in the top class. All eyes were on Acosta in both the sprint and the Sunday race as he was heavily favored to win both. Lady Luck is a cruel mistress and she took both wins away in the form of two front end low-sides. Bagnaia benefited the most as he won both races with championship rival Martin finishing fourth in the sprint and second in the Sunday race. Bagnaia took fourteen points out of Martin’s lead and now sits just ten points behind. The guys (well Jim mostly) got all geeked out on are contrails fuel consumption and flywheels. Its heavy engineering geek speak that had Richard’s eyes glazing over!
