Mike Kai: "Abraham"

Mike Kai: "Abraham"

2026-02-1037:08

In this foundational message from the Journey Through the Bible series, Senior Pastor Mike Kai walks us through Genesis 11–17, unpacking the calling of Abraham and the birth of biblical faith. This sermon reminds us that God doesn't randomly sprinkle favor. He searches the earth for hearts that will trust and obey Him. From the Tower of Babel to the promise of Isaac, Pastor Mike reveals how faith obeys before it understands and how God invites ordinary people into extraordinary promises. Through powerful storytelling, biblical clarity, and personal testimony, this message challenges believers to trust God even when the outcome feels impossible. In this message, you'll discover: ●Why faith obeys before it understands ●How God uses one person to change generations ●The danger of trying to "help God" (Ishmael vs. Isaac) ●Why God's promises often require patience ●How faith trusts God for the impossible ●Why God still sees you—even in disappointment ●How obedience positions you for generational blessing Pastor Mike also shares his personal journey of faith, sacrifice, and obedience leaving security behind to follow God's call—and closes with a powerful salvation invitation for anyone ready to surrender their life to Jesus. Key Scriptures: Genesis 11–17, Hebrews 11, Romans 8:28, 2 Chronicles 16:9, John 3:16
Journey Through the Bible: The Tower of Babel, Pride, and God's Intervention (Genesis 1–11) In this message from our Journey Through the Bible series, we walk through some of the most foundational stories in Scripture—from Creation and the Fall to Noah's Ark and the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11. This teaching unpacks how pride became one of the earliest and most dangerous sins in human history, how ambition can drift from godly purpose into self- exaltation, and why God intervened at Babel by confusing languages and scattering humanity across the earth. We explore: • Why God chose 27 key biblical moments to shape the story of redemption • The rise of Nimrod and the ambition behind the Tower of Babel • The difference between godly ambition and pride rooted in self-reliance • How pride leads people off God's path and into spiritual emptiness • The dangers of building systems, ideologies, and "towers" without God • Modern parallels to Babel, including power, control, and self-made identity • Why humility leads to fulfillment and spiritual freedom This message challenges us to ask an honest question: What tower are we building in our own lives? Is it rooted in pride—or surrendered to God? Whether you are new to the Bible or deepening your faith, this teaching will help you see Genesis with fresh clarity and understand how ancient Scripture speaks powerfully to today's world.
In this powerful message, we continue our journey through the 27 most important people and events in the Bible, moving from Creation into the global flood of Genesis. This sermon takes a helicopter view of Noah's story revealing God's justice, mercy, patience, and redemptive plan for humanity. From the spread of wickedness, to the flood of judgment, to the door of salvation, this message shows why Noah's obedience still speaks to us today and why Jesus said we are living in "the days of Noah." Key themes in this message:  ● The spread of sin and corruption before the flood  ● Why God judged the earth—and why He spared Noah ● The meaning of the Ark, the door, and the floodwaters ● The wind of God and new beginnings ● God's covenant after the flood ● Walking with God when the world runs the opposite direction  ● Why the door of grace is open now—but won't stay open forever.  This sermon is both a warning and an invitation—to recognize the signs, walk with God, and step through the door of His redeeming grace while it's still open.
The Christmas story isn't random… and neither is your life. God placed Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, everyone, right where they needed to be. On purpose. This message will open your eyes to how God is still positioning people and circumstances in your life today. Not by accident… but by assignment.
Today was the Grand Opening of our brand new Kapolei campus! God is doing a mighty work in our island and through our church. This location has been years in the making and has all led up to this point. It's not a finish line, it's just the beginning of what God is doing on the westside. The message I felt I needed to bring this weekend is about the ask. Asking God to move in your life and believing in faith that he would be the one to see it through to fruition. So if that sounds like something you need in your life or anyone you know, make sure to send them a link to this message!
This Sunday at Inspire Church Honolulu, I shared a message about one of my favorite underdog stories—Jonathan and his armor-bearer. Growing up in a small town, I wasn't the tallest, and I wasn't a starter on the court, but that didn't mean I wasn't putting in the work. Maybe you've felt overlooked or underestimated too. But here's the truth: God uses people who move forward in faith—even from the bench—to step into their purpose. If you've ever felt like the underdog, this one's for you.
An essential, fundamental core value of Inspire Church is to Make Disciples. Pastor Mike Kai sets in motion an invigorating new message series on how this pertains to all of us. You may unknowingly already be the answer to someone's prayer through the laying of hands, words of encouragement, or simply a kind act or smile. God forewarns us of the persecution, tribulation, and discomfort that's sure to befall us. We all encounter disappointment, distractions, and circumstances where things didn't work out. Pastor Mike assures us that while it won't be easy, it'll be worth it with absolutely no regrets. Be prepared to come "Off the Bench" and allow God to use you and have His way with you. God is perfectly poised to do great things in your life and entrust you with His grace, mighty power, and a vision for your life. It'll take the right response to be saved from ourselves and to trust in the plan of the Lord. It'll replace our fears with strength, hope, and everything we need. You'll be filled with wisdom, the Holy Spirit, and His gentle love to bask in the glory of God!
We conclude our invigorating message series this Father's Day weekend with Pastor Mike Kai. Pastor Mike addresses brokenness and doubt related to situations, faith, relationships, self-esteem, and finances. God allows brokenness so He can heal you and make you whole again. His perfect power will grant you peace, protection, and restoration. In moments of weakness, we allow the enemy to launch coordinated attacks that create confusion, a poverty mindset, and self-pity in our minds. We also need to release the idols we hold onto in order to let God's grace, favor, and blessings flow. Let go of any bitterness and anger that may exacerbate challenging situations. Trusting, honoring, and drawing closer to God will be your source of confidence. He has not left or disqualified you; rather, God wants you to reach your full potential. 'Releasing the Fire!' within you will make you a torchbearer and allow you to burn brightly in the darkness. Following His way will change your life forever!
We continue with another chapter in the series relating to the all-essential "Winning the Battle for Your Mind." All too often, we create spiritual boundaries through internal self-esteem, pride, and self-reliance. Depending on your strength prevents God's strength from working in your situation and hinders you from becoming a blessing to others. If you feel overwhelmed by your current circumstances, present your God-sized assignments to Him, the ultimate problem-solver. When you feel insecure, fearful, or lacking, clothe yourself in the power and spirit of God and give Him all the glory. Allow Him to sift and filter your heart of unwanted and unnecessary things so He can work through you in every area of your life. Even if you are already walking in a relationship with God, it's important to be prepared for daily battle. It requires a surrendering obedience, walk, and heart in your will and ways for Jesus to remove the weeds and clutter to unlock your destiny. An obligation of trust and faith through His testing of you will be uncomfortable, but you'll be purified and refined.
