Description

Sarcast, Talking Search and Rescue Podcast, informs and reflects on the outdoor life through the lens of the search and rescue volunteer.
We are part of a hill going community. We are walkers, runners, climbers, mountaineers. We are mountain rescuers. We are people with day jobs and families, dogs cats and car loans.
We are the sarcast crew.

We reflect on the stuff that gets us out there and keeps us going. From a long handled spoons to helicopters and headtorches, we've got it covered.
We look at the concept of Mountain Rescue in the UK and Ireland - an entirely voluntary service - and consider where it came from, how it works, why it works and get all philosophical on the power of the volunteer strength of community.
We chew the fat on hard won experience. You can't get good without getting out there and you can't get out there without an element of risk.We wander the grey area where risk meets reward and explore the tension between personal fulfilment and personal responsibility. Listen in as we share personal and professional reflections on finding that balance, after all, in the mountains, balance can be a useful thing.
