What is the connection between the body's fluids and Shen/the Spirit? And how do they relate to breast milk? These are two questions you might not immediately link. Yet, Chinese medicine shows that they both stem from the same principle: fluids are not merely water, as we view it in the West.Listen to this podcast to find out the answer...
Qi relies on fluids as a 'carrier,' just as it relies on blood. Qi can be weakened by excessive sweating, vomiting, diarrhea, or other fluid loss. At the same time, a blockage in the flow of fluids will also impede the circulation of Qi. And if this fluid blockage leads to a pathological impairment of Zang-Fu functions—such as those of the Spleen—even the production of Qi can be compromised.A podcast about Jin and Ye, the organic fluids.
Jin ye is the collective term for all normal body fluids. However, it is actually a compound term made up of two separate words: jin and ye. These two words describe two types of normal body fluids that differ in nature, function, and distribution.

We've covered the Stomach, the Spleen, the San Jiao, and the Lungs. In this podcast we're heading down in the body — to the intestines. Because the Small Intestine and Large Intestine aren't just drainage channels for waste. They play an active role in fluid metabolism. They filter, separate, and recycle.
