To age or not to age—that is the question. How long should a cigar rest before you light it up, and is there such a thing as aging it too long? On this episode of Flavor Odyssey, Robby and Randy explore one of the cigar hobby’s most debated topics: the benefits and potential pitfalls of aging. They’ll discuss the sweet spot for resting cigars, which types of blends tend to improve with time, and when aging might do more harm than good. The conversation also turns to whiskey, where time in the barrel can transform a spirit—but more years don’t always mean a better pour. Join the guys as they explore how time affects both cigars and whiskey, and whether patience really does pay off.Randy: Russell's Reserve 13 Year & Perez-Carrillo Encore Noir 👎🏻Robby: Old Fitzgerald 7-Year-Old & Tatuaje The Drac 👍🏻VotesRandy: 20% Robby: 80%🙋‍♂️ Audience PairingsMike Heykens: Feral Flying Pig (aged for I don't know how many years) & Henry McKenna 10yr BIB old fashioned 👍🏻𝙎𝙉𝙇 -- Head over to our Smoke Night LIVE podcast for cigar interviews and entertainment: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQ3OJ366KRotIlJb6-akfx_SKEmI45Y-k&si=Agu9o_OXidZLvcSW👀 Follow Cigar Dojo on social media:Instagram: https://instagram.com/cigardojo𝕏: https://twitter.com/cigardojoFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/CigarDojo/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@cigardojo

The age-old question: Strength vs. Complexity. Okay, maybe it’s never actually been a question—but this week on Flavor Odyssey, we’re making it one!Robby and Randy will each pick a side and explore which drink pairings work best with cigars that showcase either bold strength or deep complexity. Does a powerhouse cigar call for an equally bold drink, or is contrast the better approach? And what pairs best with a cigar built around layers of nuanced flavor?Grab a cigar, pour a drink, and bring your best strength or complexity pairing as we put the two approaches head-to-head.PairingsRandy: Mezcal Sour & RoMa Craft Neanderthal 👍🏻Robby: Tequila Old Fashioned & Lost & Found 22 Minutes to Midnight Connecticut 👍🏻VotesRandy: 15% Robby: 85%🙋‍♂️ Audience PairingsMike Heykens: Queen Victoria & Liga Privada Ratzilla: 👍🏻𝙎𝙉𝙇 -- Head over to our Smoke Night LIVE podcast for cigar interviews and entertainment: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQ3OJ366KRotIlJb6-akfx_SKEmI45Y-k&si=Agu9o_OXidZLvcSW👀 Follow Cigar Dojo on social media:Instagram: https://instagram.com/cigardojo𝕏: https://twitter.com/cigardojoFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/CigarDojo/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@cigardojo
