Hi, I’m Ashanti, founder and host of the Get Free From Anxiety podcast. For years, I suffered from major postpartum anxiety, that ultimately became chronic anxiety. I would open my eyes to a racing heart, avoid eating any foods that triggered stomach problems, and had panic attacks multiple times a day. I tried everything from breathing techniques, to exercise, even meditation! But nothing I did gave me the freedom that I was searching for.




Then, one day while googling medications for anxiety, I remembered something: God never meant for me to live like this! From that moment on, I knew that if I wanted to be free, I needed to partner with Him, revive my faith, and start renewing my mind. 




God showed me His plan for peace, and I’ve been living in it ever since. Now, I’m sharing it with you.

The 3-3-3 technique, meditation, prayer, prayer, and more prayer... all methods that I tried and should have eased my anxiety! Right?   Well, the truth is, that these techniques were only mild symptom suppressors, and didn't actually provide me the tools to even come close to managing it better. Even prayer didn't seem to be working! Until, I discovered what my root problem was and fixed it.  Once I figured out the main issue hindering my progress, I was able to move forward. Now, I'm living in peace daily, no longer under anxiety's control, and I have the tools in my back pocket to keep it that way.  If any of these techniques work for you, please keep it up! Can I be real with you for a second? I know what it's like to wake up with your heart already racing. To feel like anxiety has become so much a part of you that you can't even remember what peace feels like. To wonder if freedom is actually possible or if you're just stuck like this forever. I spent years in that exact place. Juggling a full-time job, a struggling marriage, two kids under five, and postpartum anxiety that made every single day feel impossible. The panic attacks felt endless. And honestly, I thought this was just my life now. But here's what I want you to know: I'm on the other side of it now. No panic attacks. Sleeping through the night. Actually enjoying my coffee instead of chugging it between anxiety spirals. And I'm not special. If I found the way out, so can you. In this episode, I share my personal journey of overcoming daily panic attacks by making one major change: quitting social media. Three to four years ago, I was experiencing 8-10 panic attacks a day, struggling to think clearly, and feeling completely out of control. I realized that doom scrolling was consuming 4-5 hours of my day and filling my mind with content I couldn't control. I made the decision to delete all my social media profiles and start the process of renewing my mind according to biblical principles. The transformation was immediate and profound. To get out of panic mode, you must take inventory of what you're consuming mentally and align your thoughts with God's Word. The key Scripture for today's episode is Philippians 4:8, which comes right after the passage about being free from anxiety through prayer. It instructs us to think about whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy.
