Send us Fan Mail Healing can turn into a stage play before we even notice. We share, we overexplain, we chase validation—then wonder why peace still feels far away. This episode leans hard into a countercultural truth: your healing doesn’t need an audience. We unpack how to protect a quiet process in a loud world, where trends dictate timing and vulnerability becomes content. Instead of performing your pain, we explore how to curate safety, move at the pace of honesty, and let growth be measu...
Send a text What if love is present but you still can’t exhale? We dig into the lived difference between being loved and being held, and why emotional safety—how we are seen, corrected, and accompanied—can change the entire texture of life. Emotions become signals instead of enemies, discomfort turns into data, and language gives shape to experiences we’ve carried wordlessly for years. With candid stories about grief, shutdown, and the pressure to perform care, we trace how inherited limitat...
Send us Fan Mail What if being loved still leaves you lonely? We sit down with Ola—now an author—to trace the subtle gap between affection and attunement, and why safety is the missing ingredient in so many families and partnerships. Through personal stories, cultural context, and clear language, we unpack how tone, co‑regulation, and early repair teach a nervous system what intimacy feels like, for better or worse. We start with the book’s bold thesis: love without safety can feel like aban...

Send us Fan Mail What if our well-meaning care has been crossing a line we rarely name? We pull apart the quiet ways empathy can turn into supervision and how “emotional colonization” shows up in families, faith communities, and friendships. Instead of offering easy answers, we sit with better questions and a more humane posture that honors agency, consent, and pace. We start by tracing the cultural current the host calls societal narcissism—how proximity tricks us into thinking we have juri...
Send us Fan Mail What if the body’s silence is the most honest feedback you’ll hear all week? We sit with the rising noise of advice, certainty, and wellness performance and ask why so much “help” leaves us more tired, more watched, and less connected to ourselves. Drawing on the myth of Narcissus as a cultural mirror, we reframe the caution: the real danger isn’t self-awareness, it’s self-absorption without reciprocity—especially when healing becomes a stage and empathy becomes supervision. ...
Send us Fan Mail The season opens with a breath you can feel. After months of enforced stillness—pain, surgery, and a body that said “enough”—we step back to examine what mindful living actually asks of us when the lights are off and the milestones stop counting. I share how grief cracked my certainties, how recovery humbled my pace, and why I’m rethinking the language we use around healing so it guides rather than governs. We unpack the subtle shift from healing to performing: when vulnerab...
Send us Fan Mail What if the most powerful force holding you back isn't external criticism but the silent voice within that whispers "I'm not enough"? In this vulnerable and illuminating conversation, we unpack the complex emotion of shame—that intensely painful feeling of believing we're fundamentally flawed and therefore unworthy of love and belonging. Drawing inspiration from Brené Brown's groundbreaking work, we explore the crucial distinction between guilt ("I did something bad") and sh...

Adversity Is A Teacher

Send us Fan Mail Adversity doesn't detour our journey—it defines it. This reflective episode explores how life's toughest moments can become our greatest teachers, using Paulo Coelho's "The Alchemist" as a guiding metaphor for personal transformation. Like Santiago the shepherd boy who discovers his treasure wasn't gold but clarity, we too find our most profound growth not on the mountaintops of success but in the valleys of challenge. The treasure isn't reaching the destination—it's who we ...
Send us Fan Mail Fear—that flutter in your chest, that whisper of doubt, that paralysis when facing uncertainty. We all know it, but do we truly understand it? This episode takes you on a journey through the many faces of fear, revealing how this misunderstood emotion operates in our lives. Beyond simply identifying what scares us, we explore why we feel afraid and what those fears reveal about our deepest values. You'll discover that fear isn't always the enemy—sometimes, it's a signa...
Send us Fan Mail Grief reaches far beyond death, weaving through our lives in ways we rarely recognise or honour. What do you think about the dream job that never materialised? The friendship that dissolved? The promotion you deserved but didn't receive? These everyday disappointments create quiet ripples of grief we're not taught to process. Many of us excel at navigating joy but falter when facing sorrow. Our cultural narratives often discourage preparing for pain, v...
Send us Fan Mail What if the stillness you're experiencing isn't stagnation, but sacred waiting? What if evolution—personal, spiritual, emotional—requires periods of apparent inactivity before breakthrough? Through ancient Nigerian folklore and the metaphor of a butterfly's metamorphosis, this reflective episode explores how we navigate the mystery of our own becoming. Drawing parallels between the impatient monkey who emerged from hibernation too early and our modern tendency to rush transf...
Send us Fan Mail What does it really mean to "show up" as a man in today's world? In this vulnerable, unfiltered conversation for Men's Mental Health Month, four men break down the walls of traditional masculinity to explore what happens when societal expectations clash with personal boundaries. The dialogue begins with a seemingly simple question about showing up to commitments, but quickly evolves into a profound exploration of how men navigate the complex territory between obligation and ...
Send us Fan Mail Have you checked in with yourself lately? That simple question opens the door to one of the most profound realisations about consistency and mental well-being. When my mind and body seemed locked in a silent war, I found myself at a crossroads—unable to deliver on my commitment to Men's Mental Health Month content despite its deep importance to me. Through this struggle came an unexpected whisper of wisdom: "Consistency is fluid." Like the viscosity of ...
Send us Fan Mail What if the power to support mental health wasn't limited to those with white coats and advanced degrees? What if the most powerful mental health tool was something we all possess naturally—our ability to be genuinely present with another human being? Dr. Kenneth Uwajeh returns to #mindfullywithtunmise with a revolutionary perspective that reimagines mental health as existing on a spectrum from "mental poverty" to "mental abundance." This profound shift moves us beyond...

Dare Dairo, an advocate and polio survivor, opens his heart to share the beautiful complexity of his marriage to a woman thriving with bipolar disorder. Send us Fan Mail A powerful journey comes full circle in this deeply moving conversation with Folusho Oginni Liasu, founder of Super Parents Foundation. What began as a chance encounter with a mother's anonymous post about struggling to afford a hearing aid for her child transformed into a mission that has touched countless lives across Nigeria. Folusho takes us behind the curtain of special needs parenting in Africa, where cultural misconceptions and spiritual superstitions often comp...
Send us Fan Mail Have you ever wondered why we often save our deepest expressions of love until after someone is gone? In this tender reflection, I explore the bittersweet human tendency to eulogize in death more than we celebrate in life. We journey through three relationship patterns that shape our emotional landscape—the unreciprocated friendship where we give more than we receive, the "almost tribe" connections that begin with perfect alignment only to reveal fundamental differences, and...
Send us Fan Mail Oluwatunmise sits down with #mindfulllywithtunmise's recurring co-host Ola. Through personal stories, they explore navigating the complex journey of forgiveness. Forgiveness is a complex journey that requires honouring our hurt before healing can truly begin. True liberation comes when we understand that unforgiveness keeps us caged while forgiveness is ultimately an act of self-preservation. • Peace emerges as the primary emotion associated with genuine forgiveness • ...
Send us Fan Mail Have you ever had life tap you on the shoulder—or shake you by the shoulders? That jarring moment when your body stops cooperating, your mind goes quiet, and suddenly the world demands you pay attention? After running out of medications and experiencing mix-ups with my treatment plan, my typically stable blood pressure skyrocketed to dangerous heights. For someone living with bipolar affective disorder who advocates mental health awareness through this podcast, the irony was...
