"The Man Who Saw the Light Over Winter Hill" was first presented as HorrorBabble's sixth Twelve Days of Christmas special, from December 26th 2023, through to January 6th 2024. The story: A troubled young man, in physical decline, tells of his strange and terrible ordeal following the sighting of an unusual phenomenon over the haunted plateau of Winter Hill.
"The Things That Came from Winter Hill" was first presented as HorrorBabble's second Twelve Days of Christmas series, from December 26th 2018, through to January 6th 2019. The story: Following the passing of his elderly father, a man inherits the key to a mysterious cabinet. Within he discovers a journal, detailing a series of strange happenings in his hometown some sixty years earlier.
"I Woke up in a Box" is a short story by Ian Gordon, in which an unidentified man finds himself embroiled in a dangerous game beyond his control... This "Special Edition" production is a reworking of our original 2018 recording, including sound effects and ambient music.
"The Night Wire", by American author, H. F. Arnold, tells of two night wire operators, one of whom receives a disturbing report of a mysterious fog enveloping a small, unfamiliar town by the name of Xebico. "The Song of Innsmouth" is a 2026 Cthulhu Mythos story by the American author, Aaron Vlek. "A dream expedition tests friendship and resolve as two of Miskatonic's Dreamswimmers chase a vanished legend."
"The Graveyard Rats" is a short story by American author, Henry Kuttner. The tale, which first appeared in Weird Tales Magazine in March of 1936, tells of a cemetery caretaker, who, unfortunately, has been tasked with the extermination of a colony of monstrous rats. "The Feast in the Abbey" by Robert Bloch, which first appeared in Weird Tales in 1935, tells of a macabre horror encountered in a strange monastery deep in the woods. This "Special Edition" production is a reworking of our original 2017 recording, including sound effects and ambient music.
"The Damp Man Lives" is a 2025 short story by Ian Gordon—a modern sequel to the original series of 'Damp Man' stories by Allison V. Harding. In the jazz-shadowed streets of New Orleans, journalist Lucy Pelgrim senses something ancient has awakened. Haunted by the secrets of her grandparents—George and Linda Pelgrim—and a manila folder bearing the title 'The Damp Man', Lucy soon finds herself pursued by a presence she cannot explain.
"The Hound" by H. P. Lovecraft, which first appeared in Weird Tales in 1924, tells of two graverobbers, stalked by something monstrous after plundering an ancient tomb. This "Special Edition" production is a reworking of our original 2017 recording, including sound effects and ambient music.
"The Fear Experiment" is a short story by Ian Gordon. "The Hunt" is a short story by British writer, Jennifer Gill. The tale tells of a young lady’s first hunt of the season, across the sprawling Elderwood Estate, in North Yorkshire.
"A Pair of Shoes" is a short story by British writer, M. D. Vickers. It tells of an ancient castle, and something that walks its halls.
"The Silence of Black Edge" is a Peter Van Melsen story by Ian Gordon. In Case #15, the fearless P. I. investigates a silence not of this world, where forgotten rites and lurking shadows hunger for the living.
"Into the Gaping Maw of Cecelia Davenport" is HorrorBabble's eighth Twelve Days of Christmas Special. When nine-year-old Betsy moves with her father to the quiet town of Lowther, she senses that something is wrong long before the adults do. Children begin to vanish, the streets empty, and a strange woman known only as the Bag Lady roams the town's forgotten paths.
"Cleanup on Aisle 22" is a short story by Ian Gordon. The story tells of a disgruntled supermarket employee, who, following an implausible incident on the store’s ‘herbs, pickled goods, and spices’ aisle, takes the decision to resign.
"The Haunting at Ravenglass" is an original, Carnacki, the Ghost-Finder story by Ian Gordon, based on characters and themes created by British author, William Hope Hodgson.Carnacki has been hired to investigate an apparent case of haunting at Montague Castle, on the outskirts of Ravenglass, Cumbria, in which a lone, ghostly figure has been observed wandering the corridors of the castle’s guest wing after dark. But, as is often the case with Carnacki’s investigations, things aren’t quite what they appear to be...
"Home Tutor" is a short story by British writer M. D. Vickers. A man, seeking vengeance, reinterprets the concept of home tuition.
