According to the Job Bank of Canada For Authors and writers; Editors & Journalists, over the period 2019-2028, new job openings (arising from expansion demand and replacement demand) are expected to total 15,700 , while 18,400 new job seekers (arising from school leavers, immigration and mobility) are expected to be available to fill them. Podcasting is an increasingly popular pastime in the U.S with 79 percent of respondents being aware of the format, while over 82 million people listened to podcasts in 2021. This number is estimated to rise even further, reaching over 100 million listeners in 2024, Statista reports.
