Southern Miss hired Blake Anderson as the full-time head football coach on Thursday to replace Charles Huff, who recently left to take the head coaching job at Memphis. When Golden Eagle fans woke up on Saturday morning, they were met with several reports stating that head football coach Charles Huff is expected to leave Hattiesburg to be the next head coach of the Memphis Tigers. After just one season at Southern Miss, Huff is gone, but he’s leaving the program in a much better place than he found it. After USM went 3-9 in 2023 and 1-11 in 2024, Huff led the team to a 7-5 record in 2025, securing bowl eligibility for the first time since 2022. On this episo...

The Golden Eagles came into Saturday afternoon’s matchup against Texas State with a clear goal in mind: Win this one, then beat South Alabama next week, and they’d lock up the Sun Belt West Division before even getting to that final game of the season against Troy.
