In this episode, it's an editor take over! Chris, Diego and Matthew have infiltrated the podcast and are joined by Emmy award winning editor Lise Kearney who has worked on reality shows such as The Voice, Love Island USA, and Fear Factor: House of Fear. Lise discusses what it's like to be an editor living in Los Angeles, what it takes to make it in the business and how to make reality TV feel that bit more... real. Let us know in the comments below if you want the editors to take over the podcast permanetly (this was definetly not written by Matthew).
In today's episode, we talk to Alex Fegan, a documentary filmmaker and founder of Atom Films which he runs with his wife Aileen O'Carroll. Alex takes us through the making of one of his most well-known documentaries The Irish Pub where he interviews people in local pubs all around the country. Alex also discusses what it takes to run your own production company and gives some great advice to people trying to make their way in the film industry.
On this episode, we are delighted to be joined by comedian/actor/writer/filmmaker (is there anything he can't do?) and founder of the comedy conglomerate Dreamgun, Stephen Colfer. Stephen talks to us about the process of making his film reads, a show where he and his friends act out scripts of famous blockbuster films with a bit of a comedic twist! Stay tuned to find out why performing a kid-friendly film read might not be such a good idea!

Cancelled TV Shows

2026-03-2152:06

In this episode, we discuss the extremely sensitive topic of cancelled TV shows. Listen as we rage at huge corporations after they pulled the plug on our favourite shows and film series that had so much potential, like Inside Job, Spectacular Spider-Man, and the DCEU (just kidding!). P.S. we aplogise in advance for the dated Smiling Friends discussion that aged like milk :(

Let us formulate your opinion for you! We'll also discuss some of the films and performances that we believe the academy has overlooked (Jack Black was robbed for Best Lead Actor in A Minecraft Movie!).
In this episode, we delve into the art of documentary filmmaking with award winning director Maurice Sweeney. Maurice discusses the making of one of his most well-known drama docs, I, Dolours, which recounts the life of the Provisional IRA volunteer Dolours Price. On this long awaited (in our friend group) podcast episode, Andrew and David take on Chris and Brian in convincing (or rebuting) why Star Wars: The Last Jedi is actually a really great film, judged graciously and (somewhat) fairly by Éabha and Matthew! It's called A New Hope for a reason Chris, get over it.
It's the most wonderful time of the year; Along with our classmate Gwen, we talk about the christmas films that either jerk tears, provoke fears or smerck smeers.
This week, we dish out our notes apps and take you on a hopefully very convincing journey through our feature length film ideas! Which one did you like the most? Do you like the Cars franchise as much as Brian? What happens after death? Have you ever been in a punk rock band? Was the universe really created last Thursday? Viva la Vegas.
Has television started being written around audiences instead of for them? Are we living in the dumb or golden age of televison? What even is a TV? Everyone knows streaming is the future, right...?
