Description
Two PhD theologians with tendencies towards red wine, real scotch, and hilarious (humble) banter tackle your theological questions as well as our own day to day musings. Sounds like a good time to me (humbly).
All opinions, thoughts, terrible jokes, etc are our own and not representative of our respective institutions.

Leah is developing a unit for AAR on Religion in the American South, so we're here promoting it! Also because we just did papers on it, and there were other really good papers, and you get to hear all about it. Snake handling, surveillance, Southern Gothic lit? Sounds like a TotR episode to me!
I think this is becoming a mancast....brocast? We've finally made it. We still don't know how to have intro music, though.Join us as we have Nick Polk of Tolkien Pop! We talk about a lot of things, because we forgot we were on a podcast again. But one of those things is, shockingly, Tolkien. Also Wuthering Heights. And a little smattering of Bible! And go follow Nick (@njspolk) wherever you socialize.
We're starting a new series! It's called "Theologian Superlatives", where we assign theologian to those old high school superlatives like "Most Dependable" (which was what Leah won). We also got intro music! Shout out to Michael Morelli for our 80s vibe!

We have guests this episode! Will Rose, influencer extraordinaire, and Thomas Johnston, the young one, come to talk about their new podcast "Your Matter Matters"! They talk about faith and science, answering some big questions about life and how we understand it, so go check them out, too! And come listen here to learn how to summon us, and what songs to play as we meet our maker.
Stuart cut Leah's hair, so we figured we'd just go deep and talk about heaven and earth and cosmetology and where we go from here. Exciting updates and of course our usual humble selves.
In true TotR fashion, the beginning is hilarious chaos, just like the title. And then we put on our theology aunt hats to talk about resistance.
Don't worry, only Kristy has bangs (fringe). But Leah used to. We also continue our twin flame journey by having similar New Year themes, similar glasses, and similar freak outs. 2026 sucks already, but we're here to help.
Or something like that. Come join us as we talk about hope and the resurrection. We also both saw the new Wicked movie, and we're really passionate about Laguna Beach, The Real OC.
Leah said "let's drink beer to celebrate beer camp," and then this podcast really went off the rails. Come listen to us talk about: football, what makes something pumpkin spice, responsible use of medicine, religion as a humanistic endeavor, why we are better than the boys, and liberation theology. Also, Kristy frustrates Leah so much, she screams!
Or Merry and Pippin...Ryan Does is really the expert in these comparisons, so check with him. What we know is that when you think humor, you think Leah and Kristy. Or Mark Twain. Whichever. Come laugh with us.
Welcome to Season 3! Though, alas, we did not get airbrushed Format shirts. (Hook ya girls up, though.) Come join us as we cover a lot of events and topics from the Current Times, with the levity we're known for (as well as a guest appearance by Salem and as per the season, some football chat).
The final episode of the Summer of Rejection! Come join us as we discuss Kristy's literary obsession, Shark Heart! (by Emily Habek) An absurdist tale of a man who turns into a great white shark, it's a great way for us to discuss the absurd aspects of life, the grief and the hope we all experience outside of rationality.
Don't worry, this is not turning into a football podcast. We stopped ourselves. We continue our Summer Series of Rejection with Leah's paper on sectarianism, and we talk about the way sports rivalries (especially in certain areas) can reveal deeper issues within our communities. This is a great paper that deserves to be out in the world, so come listen!
Summer of Rejection continues, finally! We're back, y'all. Apologies, but we had a lot of things (beaches and mountains) to see. But don't you worry, because we're continuing with our series with a discussion of Kristy's sadly rejected chapter on why the finale of Lost was really good, actually. Join us, help rank the hottest Lost men, and sorry for the football chat.
Summer of Rejection Episode 1! Leah goes first with her proposal to link the Rocky Horror Picture Show to the indecent theology of Marcella Althaus-Reid.
It's us, so what was meant to be a short trailer for our summer series has a quite long intro. But y'all means ALL and your aunts support immigrants. Go out and do your civic duty. And then get ready, because we have a really exciting summer series coming up!
Get your mind out of the gutter! We're talking about Japanese technology (minimally) and religion (maximally). There's also some dog talk at the start, because we are who we are. And you love us for it.
This is just what Kristy hopes happens. But we do talk about all these things! And we also talk travel, learning about other religions, and self-reflection. Also, we bicker like sisters. It's hilarious.
We watched Conclave, and a conclave is on the horizon! Disclaimer, we have no real knowledge of how conclaves work, so if you do, please fill us in. But we do have thoughts about the movie, and Francis, and the progress of the Church universal. Grab a margarita and join us!
