Quick note: I misspoke in the episode and said Abraham took home $11 million, he actually took home closer to $17 million after choosing the lump sum. Either way… we’re still talking about millions. Just wanted to correct that here. 🖤Abraham Shakespeare went from earning minimum wage to becoming a multi-millionaire overnight after winning the Florida lottery. But what should have been a life-changing moment quickly turned into something far more complicated. As the money came in, so did the pressure. Requests. Lawsuits. People showing up, asking for more. And over time, Abraham began to withdraw from the world around him.By 2009, those closest to him realized something wasn’t right. Months had passed without anyone hearing from him. And when police finally stepped in, what they uncovered would reveal a calculated pattern of manipulation, financial control, and ultimately, murder. In this episode, we walk through the life of Abraham Shakespeare, the investigation that followed his disappearance, and how one woman positioned herself at the center of it all.🎧 Macabre Mondays is a true crime and paranormal podcast hosted by Alejandra and her husband Tom. At the end of our Montauk Project deep dive, we mentioned a strange theory floating around online, that the so-called “Montauk boys” might be connected to something known as the Black-Eyed Children. So… what are they? In this episode, we break down the origin of the Black-Eyed Children phenomenon, starting with the first widely circulated encounter in 1996. From there, we explore reported sightings from around the world, the eerie patterns that show up again and again, and the psychology behind why these stories feel so unsettling. Are these encounters something real? Or are we watching a modern legend take shape in real time? We talk facts, theories, and the patterns but we leave the final question up to you. 🎧 Macabre Mondays is a true crime and paranormal podcast hosted by Alejandra and her husband Tom. At the very edge of Long Island sits Camp Hero, a decommissioned Cold War military base overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Officially, it was built during World War II to defend the coastline and later became a radar station designed to detect incoming Soviet aircraft. But over time, the base became connected to one of the most disturbing conspiracy stories in American history: The Montauk Project.According to those who claim to know the truth, Camp Hero wasn’t just a radar base. It was allegedly the site of secret government experiments involving mind control, psychological manipulation, and even time travel. In this two-part episode, we talk documented history to conspiracy lore. We explore the real Cold War programs that shaped public fear, including MKUltra, Project ARTICHOKE, and Project Stargate, and examine how those confirmed experiments blurred the line between fact and fiction. From radar towers and sealed underground tunnels to psychic research and the infamous Philadelphia Experiment, the story of Montauk forces us to ask an uncomfortable question:How much of this is conspiracy… and how much is history we still don’t fully understand?——🎧 Macabre Mondays is a true crime and paranormal podcast hosted by Alejandra and her husband Tom. In January of 1897, a young bride named Zona Heaster Shue was found dead at the bottom of a staircase in rural West Virginia. The doctor ruled it a natural death. The case was closed. But her mother refused to accept that answer.Weeks later, Mary Jane Heaster claimed her daughter appeared to her and revealed how she really died. What followed was the exhumation of Zona’s body, a shocking autopsy, and a murder trial that would become one of the most unusual in American history.Did a ghost truly solve her own murder, or did a grieving mother simply refuse to let her daughter’s death be ignored? This is the story of the Greenbrier Ghost.---   ---   ---🎧 Macabre Mondays is a true crime and paranormal podcast hosted by Alejandra and her husband Tom. In December of 1900, three experienced lighthouse keepers were stationed on a remote island off the coast of Scotland known as the Flannan Isles. They followed strict routines. Nothing inside suggested panic or fear. But the men were gone.In this episode, we break down what is fact, what is theory, and what was added later through folklore. This episode marks our first listener submission of 2026, and it comes from listener Barbara! Who suggested one of the most infamous and unsettling cases in small town history. We are heading to Skidmore, Missouri, to tell the story of Ken Rex McElroy, a man many locals described as the town bully. For years, McElroy was accused of violent crimes, intimidation, and terrorizing his neighbors, yet time and time again, he avoided prison. Witnesses backed out. Cases collapsed. Fear took over.On July 10, 1981, in broad daylight, Ken McElroy was shot and killed in front of dozens of people. No one claimed to see who fired the shots. No one was ever charged. In this episode, we walk through who Ken McElroy was, how a small farming town reached its breaking point, what happened the day he was killed, and what became of Skidmore after the cameras left. We also unpack the investigation, the FBI’s involvement, Trena McElroy’s accusations, and why this case still unsettles people decades later.—🎧 Macabre Mondays is a true crime and paranormal podcast hosted by Alejandra and her husband Tom. We're back! For Chapter 2 of Macabre Mondays. In this episode of Macabre Mondays, we walk through the history of the Winchester Mystery House, tracing how tragedy, spiritual belief, and public fascination turned a private woman into a permanent ghost story. The Winchester Mystery House is famous for what it doesn’t make sense of, staircases that end at the ceiling, doors that open into walls, windows built into floors, and a layout so confusing it feels intentional. For nearly 40 years, the house was under constant construction. At the center of it all was Sarah Winchester, a grieving widow who inherited a massive fortune connected to the Winchester rifle. As her home grew more complex, rumors followed, that the house was designed to confuse spirits, that Sarah feared the dead, and that stopping construction would mean her own death. Because when a house refuses to make sense, it forces us to ask, what was really being built… and why?Find the ghost photos here! Mount Everest is the highest place on Earth, and one of the most unforgiving.Every year, hundreds of climbers spend tens of thousands of dollars attempting to reach the summit. But above 26,000 feet, in a place known as the Death Zone, the human body can no longer survive. Oxygen disappears. Judgment fades. And for many, the mountain becomes their final resting place. In this episode of Macabre Mondays, we explore the real horror of Mount Everest: the frozen bodies that remain along the climbing route, how they become landmarks, and the unsettling normalization of walking past the dead. We tell the stories of Green Boots, Sleeping Beauty, and others who never made it back down, and examine the ethical weight of survival when rescue is often impossible. We also dive into the eerie experiences reported by climbers: voices in storms, phantom companions, and the mysterious Third Man phenomenon. Are these moments the result of extreme altitude, or is Everest a place that holds onto those it claims? This is not a story about conquering a mountain. It’s about what Everest takes and what it keeps.🎧 Macabre Mondays is a true crime and paranormal podcast hosted by Alejandra and her husband Tom. This week on Macabre Mondays, we dive into the unbelievable true story of Jeffrey “Roofman” Manchester. A soft spoken, polite, fast food robber who locked employees in freezers while telling them to stay warm. A man who escaped a medium security prison by strapping himself under a delivery truck. And a fugitive who went on to live for nearly six months inside the ceiling of a Toys R Us, watching employees through baby monitors and slipping down at night to shower and steal supplies.According to investigators, Manchester built a secret hideout between the walls of a Circuit City, created an alias, joined a local church and even started dating someone who had no idea he was living above the store she most likely shopped in as a parent. But everything changed on the day he attempted one final robbery. This is a story about obsession, control and the terrifying ways charm can become a mask. Through verified sources and detailed reconstruction, we walk you through the life, escape and capture of the man law enforcement called The Roofman.______________________🎧 Macabre Mondays is a true crime and paranormal podcast hosted by Alejandra and her husband Tom.
