Being a mom is hard but being a mom without a passion is even harder. There can be a thousand excuses not to make a move, but all you need is one reason to start. So, when is the right time to start?Brittany Fuisz (fuse) grew up on the beaches of Malibu, eating local produce and appreciating at a very young age that food is fuel. After graduating Georgetown University and Le Cordon Bleu, Brittany trained at the three Michelin starred Le Bernardin and The Food Network in New York, where she studied the finest techniques in the culinary world. While trying to get pregnant, Brittany was struggling to conceive and visited a fertility doctor who recommended the auto-immune protocol, with which she experienced great results, e.g. more energy, reduced inflammation, improved focus, and strength. She eliminated dairy, nuts, gluten and soy from her diet and was searching for a milk alternative, when the idea hit her: “What if I make milk from flaxseed?” Not only was the flax milk allergen-free, but had a fantastic texture due to the fact that flax is a natural emulsifier. Malibu Mylk was born!Brittany wanted to share with the world this incredible product that helped her to feel her absolute best, and successfully launched Malibu Mylk in grocery stores in the LA area in 2019.Connect with Brittany:Official Site | Facebook | Instagram | Article | LinkedinConnect with Ashley:Connect With Me MoreShow Sponsors:Seeking Encouragement & Accountability | Optavia |--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ashley-henriott/supportSupport the showIf this encouraged you, please leave a review on Apple Podcasts and subscribe on YouTube. A British native and American transplant, Danvers Simmons is the host of the inter-generational podcast, Mothers & Daughters Unfiltered. After an accomplished career as a Senior Vice President at Saatchi & Saatchi advertising and then Omnicom Media Group in London, New York, and L.A., Danvers Simmons founded the woman’s empowerment initiative Own it Feel it Live it® — a simple tool to help women connect and balance mind, body, and spirit for total wellbeing.Diane Danvers Simmons was 16 years old when her 60-year-old mother walked out on her and her father and moved in next door with three hot college guys. It inspired her memoir, My Mother Next Door.“Each one of us has a story, which begins with our mother, and everyone’s story has parts that are messy, painful, unexpected, beautiful, and comical,” says Danvers Simmons. “My mum was a headstrong, independent woman who was dying in her suburban life just as the feminist movement began during the revolutionary 1970s, and she was leading the way. I was growing up in a time of opposites, dark and light, pessimism and optimism, war and peace, and surviving with the help of my friends. Through this journey, I not only placed my fifty-something self into my sixteen-year-old self, but I also saw it all through a new lens, as the mother of my own blended American family: a teenage daughter and son from my own womb, and an older stepdaughter and son, courtesy of my husband’s first wife’s womb.”Connect with Diane:Official Site | Facebook | Instagram | Instagram | TwitterConnect with Ashley:Connect With Me MoreShow Sponsors:Shop My Store | Earth Breeze | My Favorite Bible--- Support this podcast: Support the showIf this encouraged you, please leave a review on Apple Podcasts and subscribe on YouTube. For almost any long-term career, we prepare and take years to study the subjects so we can learn all about our upcoming career and the lifestyle that goes along with it.Motherhood is a sacred and special time in a woman's life, but our preparation for it has been undervalued and brushed to one side in favor of focusing on just keeping our heads above the water. We may take a class and perhaps read a couple of books but we really don’t prepare for all the things that motherhood brings. We mostly focus on our new little bundle of joy that will be arriving soon.In today's episode of Confidence and Coffee, (Same great show, just with a different name!) I am joined by my friend Jessica Lorion to talk about motherhood, autoimmune disease, and finding clarity through purpose. As an auto-immune disease fighter, Jessica's motherhood journey has been postponed. While she navigates her health journey, she has decided to learn all about motherhood before she actually is a mother. As a Mama in Training herself, she decided to take that idea and support other Mamas in Training on their journey in and through motherhood. Listen in and learn all about how to best prepare for pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.Living in NYC and originally from MA, Jessica is always looking for ways to gather people together, connect and create. She is an American TV/Film and Theatre actor and has been with her husband for 13 years. When she's not hosting the podcast or acting, you can probably find her at the gym or at a local coffee shop. She has found her passion in serving others and storytelling.Listen in to learn more about : Ashley’s bold prediction for Jessica and her yearning to be a mama  Jessica shares her journey with autoimmune disease and how she is working to heal herself. Expectations

2022-01-0425:41

We expect a lot of ourselves, our children and our spouses. Unfortunately, our expectations are often unrealistic, which can cause a lot of stress and frustration—so it’s important to manage them well.In today's episode of Motherhood Unfiltered, I take a deep dive on managing our expectations of  our kids and spouses and how we need to turn to prayer to help us during times of frustration.Listen in to learn more about : What is faith and why don't we apply it to our expectations in our everyday lives? Hey sister! According to Webster's dictionary,  the definition of obedience  is “the act or instance of obeying; the quality  or state of being obedient.” Additionally, the definition of obedient is  “submissive to the restraint or command of authority: willing to obey.”When we look at Christian obedience, it is merely the act of obeying the commands of God. If you have faith in God and believe Christianity is  the truth, obedience is the practice of living by faith, obeying the  teachings of the BibleI'm so excited about today's episode. The amazing and brilliant Jenny Randle chats with me about obedience to God, living in our calling and we talk about her new book. Jenny Randle went from a career in the heart of Hollywood to a faith-based author, national speaker, and chart-topping podcaster. Her search for meaning in the everyday moments of life has led her to write her newest book Dream Come True, where Jenny encourages readers to dream on for the glory of God and the good of others.Listen in to hear more about:  Jenny shares the idea of living on purpose How her impression as a 3rd grader impacted her dreams today What is the biggest excuse for people pursuing their dreams?  Resources:Visit My store at ashleyhenriott.com and use the coupon code LOVE10 to get 10% off + FREE SHIPPING!Become a patron of Motherhood UnfilteredWays to connect with Jenny :  Website: JennyRandle.com |  Freedomcreatives.com Podcast: Shut the Should Up with Jenny and Candace Payne  Instagram: @jenny.randle Facebook Group: Freedom Creatives --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ashley-henriott/supportSupport the showIf this encouraged you, please leave a review on Apple Podcasts and subscribe on YouTube. Joshua 1:9 "Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."I'm so excited about today's show. I'm with my good friend (and podcast editor) the inspirational Tammy Munson, and our conversation is so good! I know that you will absolutely love her as much as I do. I wanted to bring her on the show so we could talk about a topic that we've never talked about on Motherhood Unfiltered: Parenting a special needs child. Tammy is a proud mama of 2 adult daughters and wife to my hubby of 23+ years. She’s a podcast editor, producer, and coach, as well as a special needs advocate. She loves Chick-Fil-A like it is her job.  Her firstborn, Kiersten,  was born with special needs and currently living her best life while dealing with her brain injury.Tammy believes everyone has a story to share, and she is obsessed with helping women share their stories, find their own voice, and create fantastic content. However, today Tammy is sharing her own story of walking alongside her daughter as they navigated Kiersten's needs and God working miracles every step of the way. Listen in as we talk about Tammy shares the traumatic experiences that caused her to be angry and doubt God's love for her and her daughter.  If we could fully grasp the concept that there is nothing we could ever do to deserve or earn the love of God, then we would not only be able to see God’s heart for those with disabilities but also His heart for us all.  Tammy shares her advice for those special needs mamas who are in the hard season. Resources: Visit My store at ashleyhenriott.com and use the coupon code LOVE10 to get 10% off + FREE SHIPPING!Uncle Bud's CBD Hand and Body Lotion Connect with Tammy on Instagram @tammy_munson or via her website:  tammymunsoncreative.comThank you,Ashley--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ashley-henriott/supportSupport the showIf this encouraged you, please leave a review on Apple Podcasts and subscribe on YouTube. She is the author of Eternally Expecting: A Mom of Eight Gets Sober and Gives Birth to a New Life...Her Own and I couldn’t be more honored to have her by my side as we discuss her journey to sobriety, the mommy wine culture, and much more! Amy Liz Harrison is one of recovery’s original new voices. She’s a mother of eight who has been sober since 2011. Harrison grew up in the Evangelical Christianity Movement of the 1980s, became a teacher, married an airline executive after knowing him for five months, and transitioned to a stay-at-home mom. She turned to alcohol to deal with the horrible guilt that mothering alone wasn’t enough to fill her deep loneliness.Listen in as we talk about 1. Liz shares her journey going from being the “Fyre Festival” of motherhood to becoming a sober mom of 8. 2. The dangers of mommy wine culture and using it to de-stress from the trials and tribulations of parenting. 3. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” ( Jeremiah 29:11) I'm so excited and honored by my special guest, Keewani Vallejo- Cook, aka Kiwi. She is an alumnus of Compassion International's program in the Philippines, and She is a compelling speaker who loves to inspire young people and adults to grow in their relationships with the Lord. She speaks passionately about the power of prayer, faith without limits, discovering God’s will, obedience to God, and the compassion of Jesus. With a genuine heart for people and a strong desire to provide help and healing, Keewani Vallejo Cook thrives in her work as a physical therapist. She also travels around the states and Canada to give her testimony. Born into abject poverty in the Philippines, Keewani’s childhood was difficult and heartbreaking. Her family frequently moved due to their inability to pay rent, and there was rarely enough food to go around. They lost family members to treatable medical conditions because they could not afford healthcare when needed. Life was hard, and she couldn’t imagine a way out of the hopelessness. When she was 7 years old, Keewani was invited to participate in Compassion's child development program at a local church. Through the love, support, encouragement, and care she received from her sponsors and program staff, her life began to change drastically. Hope grew in her heart as she experienced God’s great love and learned that He had a plan for her life and future. Being sponsored through Compassion made it possible for Keewani to receive an education and a university degree, which released her from the poverty she grew up in. Her family recently launched a children's ministry in their own backyard directly impacting young people in their community and helping to spread the word of God. Keewani and her husband, Terry, live in Dallas, Texas. So I aim to find new sponsors for at least 30 children with just THIS EPISODE with the Motherhood Unfiltered Community! I've made it really simple for you with 2 options! The first is that even as you are listening, you can open up a text and send the word SUMMER to 83393. You are going to get a text back with a picture of a child and a link.  Click that link and follow the steps to start sponsoring. It’s super simple. The second option is also easy. If you go to compassion.com/SummerCampAshley can choose exactly which boy or girl you want to sponsor. RESOURCES  Connect with Kiwi - https://www.compassion.com/christian-speakers/keewani-vallejo-cook.htm https://compassion.com/summercampashley https://www.patreon.com/ashleyhenriott Thanks,  Ashley --- SupSupport the showIf this encouraged you, please leave a review on Apple Podcasts and subscribe on YouTube. I'm doing something a little different - when has that stopped me before?!  Today is a bonus episode where I take a deeper dive into my reasons for wanting to partner with Compassion Internation and how the local church helped me become the woman you see today!   Compassion International works with more than 2 million children in 25 countries. Compassion pairs each child with one sponsor who can encourage and support a child’s growth – and also connects each child with loving, caring adults in their own community to mentor and guide them. Compassion’s goal is simple – to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. Being released from poverty means moving from “not having enough” to “having enough to survive and thrive.”  So I have a goal of finding new sponsors for at least 10 children with the Motherhood Unfiltered Community! I've made it really simple for you.  You have two options. Compassion is an organization that takes child protection seriously. Sponsors won’t be given a child’s address but pass letters both ways, and letters can be written online.   I chose to partner with Compassion because I trust the way they work.  When I invest $38 every month, I know that 80% of that is being spent specifically for the development of the little boy we sponsor.  Compassion doesn’t give money directly to children, because they know that just handing out money isn’t going to make a long-term impact.  But spending that money wisely for nutrition and healthcare and education – teaching boys and girls to grow up and escape poverty – makes a huge difference.  The best part? Compassion does it all through local churches around the world. So, will you help me end poverty for the children in the Philippines?  Links below 👇🏻  https://compassion.com/summercampashley  https://www.patreon.com/ashleyhenriott  Thank you,   Ashley --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ashley-henriott/supportSupport the showIf this encouraged you, please leave a review on Apple Podcasts and subscribe on YouTube. There's no such thing as perfection in motherhood. There's no perfect mother, just like no perfect child or perfect husband or perfect family or a perfect marriage. Society is filled with so mixed messages that make moms feel inadequate — no matter what we do. This is especially true in the Instagram-perfect and highly curated digital world. We are constantly bombarded with images that evoke "perfection" in all areas of our lives. This is especially true of those who grew up in broken homes with mental health, addiction, and abuse issues. In today's episode, Ashley and her featured guest, Libby Ward, discuss their similar experiences growing up in a broken home filled with mental health issues, tried to be the perfect mom, and their shared love of TikTok. Libby Ward is a wife of 11 years and mom of 2 kids, ages 4 and 6, and lives in Ontario, Canada. She is an EA (educational assistant, but you call them paraprofessionals) and is going back to school to become a teacher. She has always had a desire to impact those around her in a positive way. Your self-worth is a function of how much we value ourselves. So many moms are unaware of their self-worth and have never stopped considering if they believe they deserve what they desire to create or accomplish in their lives. Our self-worth can be rooted in our own perceptions of ourselves, often attributed to present or past traumas, anxiety, or other perceptions we create. However, they should be rooted in our God-given identity, knowing and embracing who He says we are.In today's episode, my special guest Hillary Ramos and I discuss discovering your worth despite anxiety, realizing our true identity, and of course, we had to talk about TikTok!Hillary talks to us about the pandemic and how it was honestly the turning point in her whole story. She shares for her because pre-COVID, She is a wife and mom extremely burnt out to the max. Her husband was constantly traveling, she was working five days a week, and their son was in daycare more than he was at home. So when everything came to this abrupt halt due to the pandemic, and all three of us were home, we suddenly realized how much simplification we needed to do.Hillary Ramos is a wife, a mom (a new stay-at-home mom, actually), a former pediatric physical therapist, and a brand new writer and creator. She has been married to my husband, Josh, for 5 years, and they have one 3-year-old little boy named Liam.Fun fact: she and her husband went to high school together (we graduated a year apart), but they did not meet until college! They met at a summer job entirely randomly, and the rest is history. To learn more about Hilary, watch her TIkToks, or get a copy of her book= (If you buy a copy of Hillary's book - make sure to use the discount code ASHLEY10) Main Website: https://joyfulandrising.com/ Instagram Link: https://www.instagram.com/joyfulandrising/ TikTok Link: https://www.tiktok.com/@joyfulandrising?lang=en Facebook Link: https://www.facebook.com/joyfulandrisingRESOURCES The CSB She Reads Truth Bible https://amzn.to/3i0fxO8--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ashley-henriott/supportSupport the showIf this encouraged you, please leave a review on Apple Podcasts and subscribe on YouTube. If you are tempted to look at the world and want to run wait! Our thinking and our journey are in the hands of our Lord. Feel, hurt, and see what's going on! Own your feelings but keep going because God is still on the throne. One of my favorite moments and a time of Jesus Tiffany and I talk about is Matthew 26:36-44Jesus Prays in GethsemaneThen Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go over there and pray.”  And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and troubled.  Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me.”  And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter, “So, could you not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”  Again, for the second time, he went away and prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be done.”  And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. So, leaving them again, he went away and prayed for the third time, saying the same words again.Jesus wanted to burden taken away while still saying if it's your will. Jesus felt the burden of his destiny but still got back up to honor the will and obedience of Christ. It's okay not to feel okay but it's not okay to stay there. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ashley-henriott/supportSupport the showIf this encouraged you, please leave a review on Apple Podcasts and subscribe on YouTube. Hey friends,  I'm am so excited about today's episode. As I have mentioned before, I have partnered with Compassion International on a VERY SPECIAL project! On the episode today, I'm joined by the fabulous Mary R. Snyder, and we are going to tell you all about it!!  Mary R. Snyder has been with Compassion for over 6 years and loves what she gets to do. She says "the calling of my heart is to help speakers get their message out to the world." She now gets to do that by being at Compassion – She's worked in the Christian events industry for the past 20+years.  She has been a speaker, an event producer, a tour producer, and now she gets the awesome job of partnering with influencers and podcasters to get kids sponsored – to give a child hope. Compassion works with more than 2 million children in 25 countries.  Compassion pairs each child with one sponsor who can encourage and support a child’s growth – and also connects each child with loving, caring adults in their own community to mentor and guide them. Compassion’s goal is simple – to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. Being released from poverty means moving from “not having enough” to “having enough to survive and thrive.” So we have a goal of finding new sponsors for at least 10 children with the Motherhood Unfiltered Community!  I've made it really simple for you. You have two options. Compassion is an organization that takes child protection seriously. Sponsors won’t be given a child’s address but pass letters both ways, and letters can be written online. I partnered with Compassion because we trust the way they work. Thank you!  Ashley--- Support this podcast: https://ancSupport the showIf this encouraged you, please leave a review on Apple Podcasts and subscribe on YouTube.
