Rocky Rock Show pays tribute to the legendary Scorpions bassist Francis Buchholz, spinning two hours of classic tracks and sharing the history of the band’s rise to global superstardom.
In this special edition of the Rocky Rock Show, we pay a professional and comprehensive tribute to the legendary bassist Francis Buchholz following his recent passing. Buchholz was a cornerstone of The Scorpions during their most prolific and commercially successful era, contributing to twelve albums that defined the sound of German hard rock. The episode explores his journey from studying mechanical engineering in Hanover to joining the band Dawn Road, which eventually merged with The Scorpions to create the powerhouse lineup that conquered the world.
The show takes listeners on a chronological journey through the 1970s, featuring deep cuts and hits from ‘Fly to the Rainbow’, ‘In Trance’, and ‘Virgin Killer’. We discuss the band’s stylistic evolution from progressive roots to the lean, aggressive hard rock sound that earned them over 100 million record sales globally. The episode concludes with a spotlight on the ‘Tokyo Tapes’ era, marking the final performances of guitarist Uli Jon Roth and cementing the band’s legacy as one of the greatest live acts in rock history.
Rock out with Lesbian Bed Death as they discuss their upcoming album ‘Satan’s Cellar,’ their recent UK tour, and the DIY magic behind their striking music videos.
